CJH WR 9/5/86: · Visitors: Luther S. Clemer, P.E., Consulting Mining Engineer, and Keith Miller (apparently an assistant), 6847 Brentwood, Avrada, Colorado 80004, phone (303) 421-3576. Mr. Clemmer has been retained by the National Park Service's San Francisco office to do a mineral appraisal of the State of Texas mine, Cochise County (two patented claims and two patented mill sites). The surface appraisal is being done by Robert E. Dietrich, MAl, of Burke, Hansen, Homan and Klafter, Real Estate Appraisers and Consultants, Tucson, arizona. Will Sparks, the owner of the claims, after some years of refusal, is now willing to sell the property. Messrs. Clemmer and Miller spent two days on the property researching documents held by Mr. Sparks and sampling the underground and surface. The underground workings are in bad shape and filled with bats and guano. Researched our file data on the property.

It has been reported that the owners of the State of Texas mine in Montezuma Canyon are planning on doing some work. GWI QR 6-30-71
Ther'e appears to be some sort of activity at the State of Texas mine; the mine inspector says no. GWI WR 12/19/74

MG WR 3/14/80; Visited the State of Texas Mine in Cochise County. There is no obvious activity at this property.
MG WR 6/2/80: Mr. Howard Wirtz of the u.s. Forest Service in Phoenix informed me that a Mr. Kurtzmann wants to build a road and treat 6,000 tons of copper ore from dumps at
