Production Rate Varies. No figures available at present.
Milling Facilities Mr. Bartel is now building a 50 ton mill for milling this tungsten ore. The mill is now probably about 75 % complete. The foundations, housing, ore bins, electric generators, pumps, and crushers have been installed. 'i'he classifier, Jiggs, ball mill, and tables are yet to be installed. There will be no flotation, a s, §ccording to Mr. Bartel, none is needed.
Froposed Plans (1) To have mill ready in about 30 days. (2) To start at increased rate of operations at the time the
mill is ready for operation,,-- employing 18 men (6 on each shift, working 3 shifts). Expected to produce about 50 tons per day of ore, and running same through the mill.
(3) Expects to do some diamond drillil$ on the property to explore it further.
Remarks This report is to replace the report on this property under date of April 12, 1952.
Primos Chemical Co.'s operations in the Wolfram District, 5 miles from Johnson, Arizona are under direction of Owen T. Smith. Tungsten ore is being mined and concentrated at the rate of 30 tons per day. The mill, which equipped with jigs and tables, turns out a concentrate that runs 60% tungsten, and which is sacked and shipped to Clifton, Pa. The ore consists of both tungsten . placer gravel and white quartz. The fbrmer is scraped up from a gra v e1 lvash deposit in the little valleys and the latter is mined in the 1mV' hills.

Please refer to my letter of July 9th in the matter of application of Elmer u.Walker, of Dragoon, Ariz. for loan. Tn explanation will sa.y that the letter is signed by glmer' C. YIJa lker, by myself as "accountant" as I have been engaged by him to handle this application matter. As I ga.ve his name a.s "correspondent" in the application, I expect you would be writing him when there is anything to report, a.nd I have had no informa.tion from him. If and when the loan is granted, I expectaito be on the job as accountant and office man.
I believe the first information from Washington will come to your office and, if required, an engineer will be sent from there to inspect zmX the property. I will appreciate it if you , will advise me should this transpire, giving me the na.me of the engineer and, if possible, give me an appointment to meet your man here and proceed to D~agoon with him. loan refer you to Mr~C.A.Rookwood, of your office, whom I have known for many years.
So far as I know, we have reoeived no oommunioation from Washington of any kind. If there is further information required it is probable that it would have been requested by this time. Of oourse, I have no means 0 f knowing the approxirna te length of time required on these applications, except from re ports of other loans tha t have been granted. We are very' anxious to get a decision in this matter at the earliest possible moment as allppossible preparation warranted until something definite is learned, has been made, and the very set up of the property and its acoessibility lends to the prospect of early production when onoe the funds have been made available.
