Boiler Operator Senior I

Responsible for maintaining heating systems in large buildings in the boiler, engine, and mechanical rooms. Handles equipment such as low-pressure boilers, high-pressure boilers, power boilers, steam boilers, and hot water heating systems.

Boiler Operator Senior II Operate, repair, maintain, and adjust boilers, turbines, pumps, compressors, water lines, steam lines, valves, and all related systems and equipment.

Carpenter Senior

Constructs, repairs, restores and installs structures such as floors, doors, walls, windows, stairways, furniture, cabinets, shelves, and roofs. Operates and performs preventative maintenance on hand and power saws, planers, lathes, joiners, shapers, drills, sanders and a variety of hand tools. Installs locks, knobs, hinges, closures, and other fixtures to structures. Cleans equipment, shop area, and work site area.

Construction Helper Performs a variety of simple duties that may require heavy lifting. Cleans up around work areas. Moves construction supplies and/or equipment.

Crew Leader (Custodian)

Provides daily supervision in the area of housekeeping. Manual labor intensive. Assigns work and ensures its completion. Performs a variety of tasks in supervising and performing the required services. Ensures operational and safety procedures are follow.

Custodian

Plumber / Steamfitter Assemble, install, alter, and repair pipelines or pipe systems that carry water, steam, air, or other liquids or gases.

Refuse Collectors

Under general supervision; performs work of moderate difficulty in the collection and disposal of domestic garbage, refuse, and yard brush from super cans and regular cans into refuse trucks; and performs related work as required. Laborers must be prepared for outdoors work in seasonal weather conditions and wear safety shoes and work gloves. (About 40 needed for refuse collection). The City reserves the right to stop and/or cancel scheduled work due to weather conditions, equipment failures, personnel problems, etc.

Residential Plan Reviewer

Coordinates plan review and approvals with all other city departments for which approval is required as a precondition for a building permit; attends meetings and workshops and reads technical literature to keep current on codes; maintains and updates plan review log and computer plan tracking system.

Right of Way Technician
