Set on a 750 acre property on the banks of the Karuah River, Riverwood Downs is an icon in the Barrington Tops region, and has been family owned and operated for over thirty years. We pride ourselves on our friendly staff, the natural beauty of our surroundings, the range of activities available on site, and the high standard of our accommodation and catering. We have four ambient and well-appointed conference and function rooms which each boast flexible set up options and close proximity to indoor and outdoor break out areas. Breakout areas on offer include indoor areas such as the café, bar and games room, or outdoor settings such as the resort gardens and barbeque area and The Gumtrees entertainment area.

THE CONFERENCE ROOM A quiet and modern meeting space close to the café and restaurant, various breakout areas, reception and other amenities.

The conference room has a lovely ambiance with plenty of natural light and can be set up in formal or informal configuration to suit your needs. This room can accommodate up to twenty people in a U-shaped configuration, or up to forty in a theatre-style set-up. The conference room has reverse cycle air conditioning for your comfort, and features an in-house land line and wireless internet, TV and DVD player, electronic whiteboard, data projector and flip chart. During the break times in your conference timetable, the conference room is serviced for your convenience and jugs of fresh water and bowls of mints are replenished on the delegate’s tables.

FUNCTION ROOM SPECIFICATIONS THE WOOLSHED Our main room for sit down functions, the Woolshed is converted shearing shed with rustic unfinished-timber beams and poles. The Woolshed Features a large stage with three-phase power, a high ceiling, dimable lights and plenty of power points. A number of indoor and outdoor breakout areas are easily accessible from the Woolshed. The Woolshed can be used as a conference room or meeting space for up to two hundred and twenty people, or can accommodate sit-down functions of up to one hundred and seventy people.

THE BARRINGTON ROOM Fantastic for functions of up to sixty guests or more, the Barrington Room features large bay windows with views over the gardens and grounds. THE LOUNGE This comfortable room has plenty of natural light as well as views out over the lawns to the Barrington Tops. It opens onto a large verandah and deck which can be used as a break-out area. The lounge room is ideal for small meetings and functions of up to thirty people.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES We have something to suit every budget from back packer style accommodation to four star resort rooms. Please enquire with our event coordinator so that we can design an accommodation package for you. The Multi Award Winning - Boutique Resort has twenty superbly appointed four-star motel-style resort rooms with shower ensuite or private spas. Each room is unique in its décor and a comfortable three minute walk from the bar and restaurant, gift shop and main resort facilities. In addition we have thirteen self-contained three-star timber cabins which may be used for double, twin or multi share occupancy, and are a comfortable five minute walk from the bar and restaurant, gift shop and main resort facilities.

Boutique Resort Spa Rooms Facilities include: spa ensuite, tea & coffee making facilities, bar fridge, reverse cycle air conditioning, telephone, TV & DVD player, iron & ironing board, verandah access overlooking the garden and grounds.

Boutique Resort Queen/Family Rooms Each Queen/Family room can sleep up to four guests. We have seven Queen Rooms (which contain a queen bed and two single bunks), two twin rooms (which contain two single beds and two single bunks) and three king/twin rooms (which can be arranged as either a king bed and two single bunks, or two single beds and two single bunks). Facilities include: spa ensuite, tea & coffee making facilities, bar fridge, reverse cycle air conditioning, telephone, TV, iron & ironing board, verandah access overlooking the garden and grounds.

Park Cabins Facilities include: Private bathroom with shower, tea & coffee making facilities, fridge, reverse cycle air conditioning, TV & DVD player, iron & ironing board, fold out sofa lounge, microwave, stovetop, oven, toaster, all cutlery, crockery and utensils.

Riverside Spa Cabins Designed as a romantic escape for couples, our deluxe Spa Cabins are situated on the edge of bushland, and each has a private verandah overlooking the Karuah River. Facilities include: Open plan bedroom and bathroom with shower & two-person spa, tea & coffee making facilities, fridge, reverse cycle air conditioning, TV & DVD player, iron & ironing board, lounge, microwave, stovetop, oven, toaster, all cutlery, crockery and utensils.

Bunkhouse Lodge Our Bunkhouse Lodge is a popular choice for boot camps and back packer tours, and is a complex built especially for the youth market. The lodge has twenty eight air conditioned and heated backpacker-style bunk rooms. Each room contains four single bunks, meaning the lodge can sleep a total of one hundred and twelve guests. Twenty of the Bunk rooms open onto a large central activities hall with a large stage at one end and the other a magnificent rural outlook along the river flats to the mountains in the east. The shower and toilet facilities also open into the central hall and are situated behind the stage. The remaining seven bunk rooms and the kitchen/common room are attached to the main complex by a covered walkway, which make all facilities comfortable to use whatever the weather. Guests staying in the Bunkhouse Lodge can either provide their own linen, or linen can be organised by Riverwood Downs.

Riverside Camping

We have one hundred and twelve spacious camping sites available, including nine powered sites,

and thirty six unpowered sites overlooking the river.

Camping facilities include a recently-refurbished amenities block, coin-operated laundry, and a

gas barbeque area.

Bushwalking For the energetic in your group, we have a sign posted 5 km walking trail that winds up over the mountain and back down the other side to a lovely swimming hole.

Wildlife Safari Many of our native animals are most active at night. Our guide will drive you in a specially converted vehicle with a bright spotlight. Enjoy the beautiful scenery in the moonlight, and see animals such as possums, kangaroos, bandicoots, echidnas and sometimes even a koala.

Learn to Throw a Boomerang These Aboriginal tools were once widely used for hunting. Learn how to throw them so that they come back to you!

Learn to Crack a Stock Whip Our guide will teach you to crack a rawhide stock whip as is used by Australian Stockmen to muster their cattle.

Damper and Billy Tea Over a campfire under the stars our guide will help you cook your own damper, and demonstrate the traditional skill of ‘swinging the billy’ to make billy tea. Canoeing Canoe the pristine mountain river in our Canadian-Style three seat canoes, and maybe even see a platypus! Life jackets are provided. Horse Riding This is a fully-guided scenic trail ride through the picturesque Monkerai Valley. Beginners and

more experienced riders alike are catered for. Safety helmets are provided.
