FIRST-EVER GLOBAL CODE-A-THON

Students from Concordia Hanoi joined elementary students from fourteen schools from across seven different countries and four continents to come together for the first-ever Global Code-A-Thon. Spinning off the success of the “Hour of Code” event held in Hanoi, students had received a thirst for learning more about coding and interacting with their peers on a virtual and real-time level. This Code-A-Thon linked classrooms around the world in order to teach students a little more about coding, how to create their own games, meet other student coders, as well as compete for the title of Global Code-A-Thon Champion.

THANK YOU, CONCORDIA TEACHERS FROM PARENTS

SWIM COMPETITION FOR GRADES 5-9

As part of Teacher Appreciation Day, parents put on a wonderful ‘thank you’ event where they brought in lovely desserts, created a fantastic lunchroom with decorations, and watched the classes so that teachers could enjoy their lunch.

The Concordia Swim Team has grown and incorporated our Grade 4 and 5 athletes this year as they faced competitors from around Hanoi in this community swim meet. From 50-meter butterfly to the 100-meter individual medal, Concordia students made their school and parents proud. There was definitely no lack of enthusiasm and as one parent from an opposing school commented, “Well, out of all the schools, Concordia certainly wins the team spirit award today.” Way to go, Concordia!

SWIMMING THROUGH HOOPS

When the Hanoi heat turns up, you know it is time for the swim unit in PE for all students and this year was no different. Students in Grades preschool all the way to High School had a chance to splash in the cool waters of the National Aquatic Center and work on their marine athletic skills. This year, however, students in grades 3-9 ended the school year with Concordia’s very first Swim Gala. Students were challenged with a series of fun competitions and games that ranged from beach ball relay to underwater swimming through hoops. A great day was had by all and what a way to get ready for summer vacation!
