Our Future is Up to You

In the last newsletter we highlighted our current open positions on

the BCA board including the Indoor Programming Coordinator and

Membership Coordinator. These positions remain vacant as we ap-

proach our upcoming AGM along with several other positions open

for nomination. If we cannot get enough board members and volun-

teers to deliver our programs and conduct business then our only op-

tions are to approach neighboring community associations to merge

operations or suspend activities until enough interest is shown to

make the BCA viable again. We continue to believe that the BCA pro-

vides excellent value to the Briarwood Community and hope that with

your support your Community Association can continue!!

Please contact us at [email protected] for more information

or to submit your name for nomination.

Pedestrian Safety: Reminder to Drivers!!

What is a pedestrian?

A pedestrian is a person who travels by foot, though people who use wheelchairs, motorized

wheelchairs and medical scooters as a means of mobility are also considered pedestrians.

As a driver, do I always need to yield to pedestrians at crosswalks?

Yes. Pedestrians have the right of way at intersections. You must stop

for pedestrians the moment the person steps off the sidewalk.

Do crosswalks always need to be marked for a pedestrian to cross?

No. Crosswalks may not always be marked. They can be anything

from extensions of the sidewalk to painted markings on the road.

Facility for Rent!!

Need a space to rent? Consider

the Briarwood Community

Centre. It has a capacity of 60

people and is available from

September 1 to May 31. Please

Bike Registration

Saskatoon Police Services reminds residents who

have not already done so to use their on-line reg-

istration system at

saskatoonpolice.ca/obr/

It could make the

difference in getting

your bike back in the

event it is lost or stolen.

Thank you!!
