President’s Message

Dear Exhibitors,

This years 2015 Greater California Show will be held in

the Junior Building, which is located on the south end of the Big

Fresno Fair grounds and is accessible from the Chance Street

gate. The Youth Program will be held in the Gem and Mineral

Building.

The 2015 Greater California Show is glad to host the Cal

National for this year. We are planning on a banquet dinner serv-

ing a spaghetti and meatball dinner on Friday night starting at

6:00 PM. Cal National Awards for the 2013/2014 poultry show

season will follow after dinner.

This year’s 2015 Greater California Show is being held

in memory of David Tune. David was a long time member of

the Greater California Society of Poultry Fanciers and was very

instrumental in helping with our show. The poultry world will

miss David.

David Tune will be entered in this years Cal National

Hall of Fame and will be remembered as a champion of the

Game Show. A six year perpetual trophy in memory of David

will be started this year and awarded to the Champion American

Game exhibitor.

We have a great slate of judges and will be hosting the

California Avian Bowl State Qualifier as well as a 4-H Poultry

Showmanship Program.

We have a full program of Open and Junior Poultry Judg-

ing, a sale area of high quality birds, a raffle table, and a great

food booth for breakfast and lunch. Come join us for a great

day of visiting old friends and making new friends.

outside the building, unless you are delivering previously sold animals.

All poultry will be sold in the sale area. Fairmont 4-H will be staffing

the Sale Area and are available to sell your birds for a commission of

5%. Please let them know if you will need their services. If you are

selling your own birds you are responsible for the security of your own

birds. Nylon ties will be available to secure your cages from the Sale

Area Table.

20 BIRD JACKPOT This is an easy one for all you exhibitors. Just

do what you would normally do for a show and enter birds. For each

20 birds you enter into the show, or for a donation of one pair of show

quality poultry for the bird raffle or a donation of one dozen eggs for

the egg raffle, your name goes into the pot for a special drawing of

$50.00. Drawing will be held during Linda’s Great Raffle.

LINDA’S GREAT RAFFLE Linda has been scouring the countryside

searching for items for our raffle table. And as usual she has hit the

jackpot. Stop by her table and see what you can't live without. Tickets

are $1.00 per ticket.

BIRD RAFFLE Looking to find a home for that pair or trio of breed-

ers or want to promote a particular breed or variety? Put those birds to

good use. Donate them to our Bird Auction. The best trio or pair will be

awarded $50.00. You will also be eligible to win $50.00 in the 20 Bird

Jack Pot Raffle. For EACH pair or trio donated your name will go into

the 20 BIRD JACKPOT. Make sure you check in with Linda Grim or

the show secretary so we know who you are and what you are donating.

That way we can make sure your name is in the $50 drawing. Please

indicate on the entry form if you plan on donating a pair or trio of birds.

Thanks for all your help. Please no mixed breed fowl.
