Updates for virtual learning

● It is our expectation that scholars make every effort to attend live, in-person classes at the scheduled time. (see grade level specific schedules)

● All scholars will learn remotely while we are in Plan C. If we change plans we will provide updated information.

● Scholars will need to be online at given times to report to class and will need to complete work that will be graded by teachers. That is why it is so important for parents to stay involved so that you know when your child should be online doing classwork and keeping up on assignments.

● The work completed by scholars will be graded and count towards grades this year.

● Attendance will be taken each day in each class..● School starts online for all scholars on August 17 th at 9:00 am. The school day

ends at 3:15 pm.

Remote learning●Morning meeting- The virtual school day starts with a grade level morning meeting at 9:00. All scholars

will participate in a morning meeting following the caring schools community program. Caring School Community is a comprehensive, research-based social and emotional learning (SEL) program that builds school-wide community, develops scholars’ social skills and SEL competencies, and enables a transformative stance on discipline. This program promotes positive behavior through direct teaching of responsibility, empathy, and cooperation, creating settings where scholars feel heard, known, and cared for. Scholars become intrinsically motivated to contribute productively to a community they feel invested in, and where they know they matter.

●Classroom instruction-Classroom instruction will begin at 9:45 with a blend of Synchronous (Together) Instruction vs. Asynchronous (Independent) instruction. Each block will be a blend of live instruction (synchronous) with the teacher teaching whole/small group and canvas courses and/or pre-recorded videos (Asynchronous). Grade level schedules with specific times will be given out during the remote drive through pick up dates and times (see below).

●Office Hours- All teachers will have optional virtual office hours available if you need additional support with virtual learning/assignments.
