CIO’s Dilemma, Root Cause & Solution• Dilemma -

~ IT spending considered as an operational overhead these days.~ It is no more perceived as a warranted move to score winning advantage for enabling business strategies.~ Board’s confidence is shaken up because of cost involved, missed deadlines in past and obscure results.~ Everyone is overwhelmed by new age mantras. For instance power of social networks & personal portable devices adoption at workplace among employees. Today things like these can directly increase enterprise revenues.~ Business leaders in organizations are loosing faith on IT and look at it as mere necessary infrastructure and software. ~ You are the one who needs to change this perception. ~ CIO in Spotlight - Head IT/CIO belonging to a unit of India’s leading infrastructure development and financial company backed and promoted by central bank of India, HDFC and UTI with shareholders including SBI, LIC, ORIX corporation - Japan and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.~ CIO’s Challenge - (a) To monitor PAN India based government programs and make critical dashboards available to ministers in various positions serving in government of India. These programs were setup with an objective to provide commercially sustainable integrated solutions for development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), through a cluster based Public Private Partnership (PPP) approach that would enable them to become globally competitive.(b) CIO asked to investigate and come up with a implementation plan, technology roadmap and budget for the same.(c) CIO busy in running the day today operations of this fairly large group with no time left to come up with clean and crisp answers.(d) CIO was asked to monitor fraud by implementing technology and finally take steps to reduce the same.

• Our Solution -~ Stragure was hired as a partner to work closely with CIO’s office as technology had become complex to understand and with ecosystem so full of variables did not make life easier for them. ~ Running day today tasks and making sure existing systems are not breaking by itself was consuming more than 95% of CIO’s and his team’s effort.~ We spent some time in understanding the overall objectives and business goals of the client.
