EVERY NURSE MAKES A DIFFERENCE:

Heather Smith

We, the undersigned nurses of Unity Center for Behavioral Health, believe in Legacy’s values of respect, service, quality, excellence, responsibility, innovation and leadership. We support Unity’s founding core values of hospitality, hope and recovery. These are the values we seek to uphold through forming our union.

We are deeply committed to building a workplace where the highest priorities are:

• Providing quality patient care with a focus on safety for everyone;

• Direct care staff input in decision-making that affects delivery of care and working conditions; and

• Ensuring that all staff nurses are represented, treated fairly, and have access to due process and Just Culture.

Unfortunately, we have seen and experienced many decisions and actions in the last two years at Unity that run counter to these values and priorities. To ensure these priorities are realized and values are upheld, we must join with our ONA-represented colleagues at hospitals with contracts that establish a voice for nurses. As nurses united together, we commit to continue to support Unity in achieving the highest standards of mental health care for our community.

Respectfully,

Unity Center for Behavioral Health Nurses
