The City of Hamilton has partnered with Efficiency Smart to help Hamilton Utilities electric customers reduce the cost of making energy-efficiency improvements to their businesses. These improvements provide long-term benefits to your business by saving energy and money. I encourage you to further investigate this program to see how your business might save money. There are more than 90 standardized rebates available for businesses implementing common energy efficiency measures through this program. Some of the qualifying projects include:
• Compressed air,• Food Service equipment,• Heating, ventilation and air controls,• Motor and variable frequency drives,• Refrigeration and • Energy Engineering and Support Services.Efficiency Smart’s Business Energy Rebates program offers small to
midsize commercial and industrial businesses that use up to 500,000 kilo-watt hours (kWh) of electricity annually rebates for implementing energy savings and improvements at their facilities. This program provides a quick and easy way for companies to receive financial incentives for common energy efficiency projects. The city can provide you with the staff who can give technical assistance about qualifying products and energy efficient options to ensure the greatest long-term saving.
Efficiency Smart’s Custom program for businesses that use more than 500,000 kWh annually offers a consultative and customized approach to providing expert technical assistance and financial incentives for a variety of energy efficiency projects. Services offered include design/plan/bid review, energy and cost saving modeling, equipment design optimization, as well as monitoring and inspection. These services are offered for commercial and industrial customers in their existing facilities as well as businesses planning new facilities or expansions.
City personnel have begun meeting with commercial and industrial customers to further investigate the best way to utilize this program. At the Chamber, we want every business in the city to be aware of and participate in this program. We encourage you to contact the city to get additional support.
