ELECTRICAL SAFETY CAMPAIGN - check your child’s cords and chargers!

Overstressed power cords and adaptors can be potential fire hazards. Protect yourself by following these simple precautions:

Regularly check your laptop’s power cord, AC adaptor and DC jack for exposed, frayed or split wires. Replace them straightaway if they appear damaged.

When wrapping the cord, leave some slack at each end where the cord enters the power adap-tor. Never wrap the cord tightly around the adaptor.

When using a laptop, make sure your power adaptor rests on a surface. Don’t let the adaptor hang from the laptop; this can break the laptop’s DC jack.
