-African Americans have fought for equal rights for more than 300 years.

-They were forced to be slaves, not allowed to vote, had no freedom, and no civil rights.

-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. led the civil rights movement and fought for racial equality.

-Dr. Kings vision was for everyone to judge a man off his character and not off the color of their skin.

-Though many have tried to keep his vision alive in our century…..Many have fallen away back in racism and into past being repeated.

In this article it talks about how rioting is never the

answer, but maybe to have police to wear camera’s it

would save some discrimination.

In Ferguson, mistrust and anger towards the police

have cause even more protesters and violence.

The police force is 95% white, therefore many

believe they are racist, even though many are not.

“I think for the Negro to turn to turn to violence would be both impractical and immoral”

“I think we’ve got to see that a riot is the language of the unheard and what is it that America has failed to hear? It has failed to hear the economic plight of the

Negro poor which has worsened over the last few years.”

“Riots are self defeating and socially destructive.”
