Manufacturers Predict Improving Economy,AHR Expo To Provide Much Needed BoostAccording to a recent

survey of more than 1,000heating and cooling manu-facturers, 70% of the re-spondents said they expectthe economy to be strongerin the first quarter of 2010.This bodes well for the 2010AHR Expo in Orlando thiscoming January, as nearly72% of respondents pre-dicted their customers willstart buying more productsin the first quarter. In keep-

ing with the optimistic out-look, 69% of the AHR Expoexhibitors believe their cus-tomers have been delayingpurchases of new products“and that this pent-up de-mand will result in moresales during the first quarterof 2010,” organizers report.Nearly 24% of exhibitors ex-pect sales to increase morethan 10%, and nearly 30% ex-pect sales increases of 5-10%in the first quarter of 2010.

Close to 25% of respondentsexpect a smaller first quarterincrease of between 1% and4%, while less than 5% see adecline in sales. “The timingof the 2010 AHR Expo shouldbe very beneficial to theHVAC/R industry,” an-nounced Clay Stevens, presi-dent of International ExpositionCo., the show organizer, “in sofar as it coincides with a signifi-cant revival in the demand forequipment, systems, compo-

nents and services. We are ex-pecting thousands and thou-sands of industry professionalsfrom around the world to con-verge on Orlando in January tofind the newest and most effi-cient products available any-where.”
