Our Beloved Chairperson Madam appreciated our Principal along with the Academic

leadership team and faculty of SKCET for having received the widely acclaimed IDA

AWARDS 2019 for the Higher Education Category and Research Innovation System





IDA AWARDS EDUCATION 2019

SKCET declares the glad tidings of having bagged two prominent recognitions at IDA

AWARDS EDUCATION 2019, a prime International Education Awards by India Didac

Association partnered with MSDE,MIET, AICTE, Digital India, Skill India and UNESCO.

Principal Madam Dr.J.Janet received the 'Certificates of Recognition' at the award

cermony today held at TIESS- Bangalore International Exhibition Centre. SKCET is the

proud recipient of these awards amongst 39 Finalists out of the 1621 entries from 983

Institutions.





The awards are:

1) Distinctive Citation for the category ‘Research and Innovation in Higher

Education’

2) Torchbearer in Higher Education Category.

This recognition was awarded for the SKCET stellar strides in 'Research Innovation

system' with 6.72 Crores of research grants ,impactful research publications and IPRs

along with ICT enabled classrooms and Experiential Learning framework .

MCT – GUEST LECTURE

The Department of Mechatronics Engineering organized a Guest Lecture on the topic

"Industrial Robotics" by Mr.Thomson Tom, Vice President, Marketing & Strategy,

Inker Robotic Solutions (P) Ltd, Kerala.





INTRODUCTION TO PROGRAMMING IN C: NPTEL ONLINE PROGRAMMING TEST

National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) which is an initiative by

seven Indian Institutes of Technology for creating course contents in engineering and

science. The criteria for certification of programming course are different because of the

online programming exam component. It is mandatory to take the Programming test, in

order to get a certificate. As a part of NPTEL Online Course, II CSE Students are taking

up the NPTEL Online Programming Test on "Introduction to Programming in C"

today.

SoM – EDC – EAC CAMP 1: DAY 1

Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp Sponsored by National Science and

Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board, DST under NIMAT project

2019.

The first Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC) of the academic year 2019-20 is

being organized at Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET)

between 25/9/2019 and 27/9/2019. The Camp was supported by the Entrepreneurship

Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad under DST –NIMAT project 2019 and the

management of SKCET. The Management and Principal Madam provided fullest

support in nurturing the Entrepreneurial ecosystem in the campus. Dr. J.Janet,

Principal, SKCET is the chief Programme Coordinator and Dr.M.Sujaritha, Professor

CSE is the camp Coordinator of EAC.






The First session was handled by Mr.Prakash Muthuswamy, Managing Director,

Automation & Maintenance Management Systems, Coimbatore. He enlightened the

students on the characteristics of an Entrepreneur and the bright-edge of student

Entrepreneurship in India.He appreciated the technology-application skills of our students

in SIH and other National level competitions. He gave ideas on implementing drones in

water management, as he is currently working on the Government projects related to

automation in water quality assessment.






The second session was conducted by Alumni Entrepreneur Mr. Rajarajan, who is the

Managing Director of Burmi Foods and other 7 ventures. He shared his startup experiences

and e-commerce practices to the students.






The Sessions 3& 4 on Ideation and Business plan preparation session was handled by

Dr.P.Vijayalakshmi Menon. It enabled the participants to introspect, evaluate and decide

on their future ventures.

HANDS-ON TRAINING FOR ROBOTIC PROCESS

AUTOMATION (RPA) – EEE: (DAY 1)

The First day of the training was deployed for 202 students of department of EEE by AA University Trainers on the topics:

● Hello Bot.

● Break the Ice.

● Storing and Manipulating Data.

● Automation Excel Operations.





IT – TALENT NURTURING Mygov PROJECT

M. Uthayakabilan, P Vishnu Prabu, S Santhosh and R Ruhil Sijaz of III year, IT

department have developed a working prototype of “odour detection” in washrooms for

the purpose of proper maintenance. In an advent to motivate the students for further

improvements, Mr. T R. Kalaiarasan and Ms. G Shobana of IT department inspected their

project and gave suggestions for constructive improvements.





S&H - EXTENDED HOUR ACTIVITY

Innovative Club of SHA conducted a Brain Storming session on Energy Sector in

Solar and Fuel cells. The club serves as a platform for the students to showcase their

innovative ideas. The first year students participated enthusiastically and popped up with

novel ideas on Biofuel , Solar Collectors and Artificial Intelligence.
