A meeting with the Heads of all Departments was convened by Principal Madam.

The agenda was on:

- Update on Students participation in Hackathon

- NAAC and NIRF Preparedness

- Hostel closed status for Holidays

- Finalization of Academic Calendar -even Semester

- Forthcoming placement strategy

- NBA status of Civil and EEE





Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore is recognized as National Cyber Defence Resource Centre (NCDRC) by the National Cyber Safety and Security Standards. This national recognition to SKCET features offers various benefits to the Institution such as tie ups with industry for research cum training activities, added weightage for NAAC and other accreditation bodies and access to NCDRC digital Materials. Dr.V.Ragavi, Head of the Department, Computer Applications, the coordinator of this NCD Resource Centre shared about the various visionary schemes to be implemented by SKCET such as cyber workshops and conferences with industry professionals to empower our students & scholars and initiatives to spread the cyber security awareness to the schools and college students. The primary goal of this resource centre is to educate the society on dangers of the internet and how they should be careful and avoid falling into cyber traps. Dr.J.Janet, Principal, SKCET deemed this recognition as a rewarding experience to build a Cyber Wall to protect our Nation by employing our Institutional excellence of SKCET as a Social Responsibility.

PLACEMENT REVIEW MEETING

Placement and Internship review meeting with the placement team was conducted by

our Principal Madam Dr.J.Janet.

Accenture officials addressed the final year students.





As a part of outside classroom learning for the course Electrical Machines-I, II EEE A

section students had an Industrial visit to Hindustan Heavy Electricals, Coimbatore to

gain practical exposure on recent trends in assembling of power Transformers. Students

had an overview on construction, assembly and fault repair of distribution transformers. Also

they visualized the practical aspects of High voltage testing of transformer. Our EEE

faculties Dr.A.Radhika and Mr.Jeylani accompanied the students.

A Guest Lecture on the theme – “Building an Enriched Vocabulary” by the expert

speaker Dr.T.Asha Priya, Asst.Professor (Sr.Gr), Department of English, Amrita

Vishwa Vidyapeetam,Coimbatore was organized today. The event started with

invocation song to invoke the blessing of almighty for enlightenment followed by a warm

welcome address by the Westibule club member Ms.Tharunya of II IT C.

The co-ordinator Dr.V.Ragavi, Head of Science and Humanities expressed the words of

motivation in building up the vocabulary.

The Guest Lecture focussed on exposing the students to the list of vocabularies, which is

the main tool in the attempt to use English effectively. She inspired the students to

brainstorm ideas that could help them in developing the vocabulary. She also discussed

about the various innovative means through which vocabulary can be developed and the

barriers which could hinder effective vocabulary process. The lecture was interactive and

motivated the students to achieve success in life. It was received with admiration by the

participants and inspired by the encouraging words of the speaker. The lecture ended

with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Monisha of I BSCS wherein she expressed

her gratitude to make this event happen.

25 SAE students from the department of Mechanical Engineering and Electronics and

Communication Engineering are going to participate in SAE Tractor design and

fabrication event to be held from 21st Aug to 24th Aug’19 at SRM Institute of Science and

Technology, Chennai. Faculty Advisor of the event Mr. A. Sathish Kumar, Assistant

Professor, Mechanical Engineering is accompanying the students. This low cost compact

tractor was completely designed and fabricated by SAE students.

Dr.K.Lakshmi, HoD/EEE convened meeting with the department NBA criterion heads. The

following points were discussed

To work for NBA after college working hours.

Criterion heads to be responsible for the completion of their respective criterion.

To have the supporting documents for all the points given in the SAR.

Verification of files by external experts criterion wise will be planned.

Students from the department of Mechanical Engineering presented project concept notes

on problem statement posed by Cameron – Schlumber. Totally five teams presented their

ideas to the official of Cameron – Schlumber. Students from the department of Electronics

and Communication Engineering were also the part of the team. The officials appreciated the

effort of the students and mentors and gave their valuable inputs.

A team of faculty from Department of EEE - Dr.S.Sheeba Rani, Dr.K.C.Ramya,

Mr.Radhakrishnan and Mrs.T.Malini have attended Keysight Academia Symposium

2019, an industrial training which covered the latest technology drivers focused around 5G,

IoT, Material Measurement and DC characterization with demo of hands-on tools and

resources in achieving efficiency in lab design and testing by Keysight Technologies,

Chennai at Radisson Blu, Coimbatore.
