Operation Theatre

Operation Theatre 4 (OT4) : The Great Inspection'. It is a biennial production that is held by the medical students across all academic years, putting up a show for a charitable cause, the Christine Chong Bursary Fund which is a project for financially needy students. Our senior, Christine Chong, passed away in 2009 after a long battle with SLE and lymphoma. After her passing, the Medical Society set up a bursary in her name aimed at providing aid for medical students. Through our contribution to the bursary, we hope to commemorate her spirit of bravery and share similar stories of role models among us and in the medical profession. The setting of "Operation Theatre 4: The Great Inspection" is during a dark period of Singapore's past - that of the Japanese Occupation during World War II.While our show is set in the past, we hope that our show can highlight the timelessness of the themes explored in our show - loyalty, friendship, love and sacrifice, but to name a few. This year, I [Shariff Rizwan] will be co-producing the musical together with Lee Koon and Geraldine. We hope to pull off a spectacular performance this year that surpasses the standards of previous OTs.

As such, I would like to appeal for the Rotarians to support us in our cause by purchasing tickets to our Gala Show on Saturday Afternoon. The Gala Tickets are priced at $200 each for our Saturday show, 23rd June 2012. The show will start at 1:30pm.

The Guide to Daily LivingBefore doing the things we want to do, consider first, the precept of the guide. Ask ourselves these 4 questions and act upon them:First: Have I spent some time in self-examination?Second: Have I spent quality time with my family?Third: Have I given my best to my work?Fourth: Have I given some time to someone near and far?The Guide, in fact, encompasses the 4 parts of the Object of Rotary.
