In honor of Student Head of School for a Day,

following our student assembly on Monday, the entire

student body will immediately take a field trip to Chrysler

Museum, to see the Duck.

iPad UpdateThanks to the generosity of our TWS families and

supporters, we are officially now a 1:1 with iPads for ourmiddle school students! We are extremely excited about thisand will now move into the next phase of our project whichis to allow our grade 8 students the opportunity to take theiriPads between TWS and home for the remainder of the year.Information will be sent to our grade 8 families today with

the specifics for this new venture. If this test run provessuccessful, our hope is to expand the program to our fullmiddle school for next school year. Donations to our iPad

program are still most welcome as the goal is a 1:1 venturefor all our students. If you would like to make a pledge of

End of Year Assembly and Awards and Festival DayThursday, June 5, 2014

***Please Note- The playground will open at 7:50am as usual and classrooms will receive students at 8:05. Students

are also welcome to arrive prior to the assembly. All students should be in their classrooms by 8:45am.

On Festival Day, the buses will run in the morning but not in the afternoon. Morning care will operate as usual but

there will be no extended day services offered after Festival Day concludes.

As a reminder, lunch will not be served and the street will be reopened at noon.

Dear Members of the Williams School Family:

As most of you know, I lost my mother Liz Kollmansperger to Ovarian Cancer in 2003. One year later, my siblings and

I embarked on a decades long journey in partnership with the community and Cancer Care Foundation of Tidewater to

honor my mothers memory and to raise awareness, education and support for patients battling cancer. Just Walk for Liz

has been exactly the type of event my mother would have lovedfun, grassroots and donut-friendly. So many of you

have supported this event since the beginning and some are just participating for the first time. To all of you I say aheartfelt thank you.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Just Walk for Liz. I think my mother would have been very touched and proud ofour decade of support of cancer patients, right here in her own community. But even she would admit that all good things

must come to a natural end. Ten years feels like the natural ending to this wonderful journeyso this will be our 10th and

final walk.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary and final year of Just Walk for Liz, we would like to ask your assistance in

raising $20,000 in donations and sponsorships to honor my mom s journeyand the journey of so many that battle cancer

each year. Reaching this goal would mean that we will have raised $100,000 in 10 years to support local cancer patients.A very fitting tribute indeed.

As you know, in all the years we have held the event, we have never charged more than $25 for walk registration. One

simple way you can assist us in reaching our fundraising goal would be to voluntarily raise the value of your walk

registration to $30, $50 or $100. Additionally, any donation you would like to make towards our goalwhether you are

participating in the walk or notis greatly appreciated. Corporate sponsorships of the event this year would be

Give a Girl a Mirror Summer Camp

Give a Girl a Mirroris an exciting and creative camp to encourage greater self-awareness, build confidence and healthy self-esteem. The camp boasts fun activities,

individual and group exercises, crafts, guest presenters, engaging group discussions andinvigorating physical activities. Over the week, each participant will identify her strengthsand understand how confidence and strong self identity influence relationships andinteractions with her peers and assist in navigating difficult situations. The camp weekculminates with a group celebration of the uniqueness of each and every girl.
