Members arrive at 8:15 a.m. to help with set up and then to work the

event.Butterfly Day is kind of an end of the school year field day for the students to participate in outdoor activities.

A highlight is a release of butterflies into the air.

Directions: [From Hwy. 90], turn north onto Courthouse Rd. in Gulfport. Turn

left about 4/10th of a mile onto 30th St. and continue straight on (30th turns into 29th) until you see the school on the right. [From Pass Rd.] turn south onto Courthouse Rd. in Gulfport. Turn right about 3/10ths of a mile onto 30th

Congratulations to President Liz Evans for pushing through and making our first annual Walk a Thon a success. It took a village to make arrangements and work the event. A good amount of money was made in this fundraiser. A full report will be given at the next regular meeting in June.

While some Biloxi-Edgewater club members were in Biloxi at the Walk a Thon, others were at the district’s spring meeting in Broussard, La. The meeting, led by Governor Jewel Stewart, was well attended. Area 5 clubs hosted the event and did a great job obtaining the hotel

and a church fellowship hall for our venues. To brag a little here, awards were given out for the 2014-15 club year and past president, Claudia Lewis, was happy to go up to podium to receive them. International Awards Received for the

2014-15 Year: Honor Club of Distinction

Distinguished President Award Navigator Level for Civitan at the

Helm Bronze Award for Candy/Coin box

A membership drive dinner was held on April 21st at McAlister’s Deli. We were setup and ready for visitors, but unfortunately, none came. Instead, we took care of other club business concerning upcoming events.
