TRANSPORT

Scisset is ideally located right at the very heart of the Northern

Powerhouse, close to the cities of Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield.

All are easily accessible by car with excellent road links nearby. Less

than 10 minutes away is the M1 motorway which will take you north

to Leeds and south to Sheffield in under 40 minutes. Around half-

an-hour from the village will get you to the M62 motorway which

allows you to cruise directly to Manchester in just over an hour and

all the way to Liverpool in 1hr 45 min.

An easy 6-minute drive south from Scisset takes you to Denby Dale

train station. After a 25-minute journey north you will arrive in

Huddersfield which opens up a gateway to the national rail network.

Leeds is just a short 19 minutes from here, Manchester 31 minutes

and you can be in Liverpool in under an hour and a half. Sheffield

lies around 55 minutes south of Denby Dale and offers services that

allow you to reach London in just over 2 hours.

If you need to travel further afield, Scisset is close to three major

airports. Leeds Bradford and Doncaster Sheffield are both around

50 minutes away and fly to a number of domestic and European

destinations. Just over an hour west will get you to Manchester

airport which offers long-haul travel worldwide.

SHOPPING

The village of Scisset offers a handful of independent shops

including the House of Oak furniture maker and The Mill pet

shop, but if you’re looking for a little more choice, the market

town of Huddersfield is just 25 minutes away and offers a mixture

of high street brands and independent stores.

If designer labels are more your thing, the combination of nearby

Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield allows for a more cosmopolitan

shopping experience.

DINING

Scisset is spoilt for choice when it comes to their selection of

restaurants, with a wide range of eateries all within five minutes

of Langley Grange. The grand Bagden Hall Hotel sits within

beautiful grounds and offers not only a fantastic a la carte menu

at its Glendale Restaurant, but is also a popular venue

for weddings and much more. If you’re looking for some

international flavour, grab tapas at the Volare Mediterranean

Restaurant, or enjoy Italian treats at Casa Nostra.

For a wider array of restaurants, nearby Huddersfield offers

everything from Persian pleasure, to fancy bistros, to a good

old-fashioned pub lunch.

SPORT AND LEISURE

The Scisset Baths & Fitness Centre is just a stone’s throw from

Langley Grange and offers excellent all-round facilities including

swimming pool, gym, a variety of fitness classes and personal

training services. If team sports are your thing, Scisset Football Club

and Nortonthorpe Cricket Club offer year-round sporting fun.

If you prefer to get out into the wilderness, the Peak District

National Park is just 20 minutes away and offers some of the most

spectacular walking and cycling trails in the country.

For a fun-packed day out, Kirklees Light Railway is just around the

corner. This dog-friendly destination offers a miniature railway, play

areas and walking routes to keep the whole family entertained.

EDUCATION

Scisset is served by three fantastic schools, offering great education

from primary right up to sixth form. The Scisset First School is rated

‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and is located 2 minutes from Langley Grange,

while just next door is Scisset Middle School which is rated ‘Good’.

Two miles away in the neighbouring village is the excellent Shelley

College which offers secondary school and sixth form education with

an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating.

AMENITIES

Scisset benefits from the Dearne Valley Health Centre GP surgery and

Scisset Dental Practice which offers both general and cosmetic dentistry.

Both are located in the heart of the village, just one minute away.

The village centre is also home to a Post Office, bakery, café, petrol

station, mechanics and a Tesco Express convenience store, so you

have all the essentials right on your doorstep. If you need more,

the market town of Huddersfield is just a short drive away.

These thoughtfully designed 2, 3 and 4 bedroom family homes are in the perfect location to enjoy

all the very best in the area. The village of Scisset offers a strong and friendly local community,

while excellent travel connections keep it connected to market town charm and the buzz of the

city. Add to this that it is just 20 minutes from the outstanding beauty of the Peak District National

Park and you really do have it all within easy reach.
