The off icial International Degree in Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation specialized in Arts and Cultural and Creative Industries (LEINN ARTS) faces one of the greatest challenges of today: educating for the needs of people and society of the 21st century through creativity in relationship with Art and Creative Industries.

To achieve this, it bases its strategy on a radical change in the methodology of university studies and uses a system developed successfully in Finland in the last 20 years. This is based on three basic pillars: learning by doing, team work and international creation journeys.

The LEINN program was created in 2008 by Mondragon Team Academy (MTA). LEINN combines the Finnish education methodology of Tiimiakatemia & the expertise of Mondragon University. Today LEINN degree takes place in 12 cities in 3 continents (Europe, Asia & America) with more than 1.000 youngsters enrolled and +750 graduated already.

LEINN ARTS is a LEINN degree that combines all the wisdom and methodology of LEINN applied to nurture & train entrepreneurs and creative change makers in the f ields of arts, creative and cultural industries. Through the learning process they gain understanding and connections from the f ield and get to experiment different concepts from art and creative processes such as color, move-ment, space and sound to innovate & create new entrepreneurial projects in teams.

LEINN ARTS is a four years challenge of intense and exciting work. A journey that changes the people’s lives, who become world citizens with a global vision and the ability to translate it into real projects that can change their environment. The degree aims to educate creative changemakers with strong social values who understand the company as an instrument to build the world they want.

The Mondragon Team Academy learning method is based on Teamwork and learning by doing. It places the people and the entrepreneurial team in the center

and involves the creation and development of real creative entrepreneurial projects. The team is the key element of the process that allows the necessary skills and competencies to be developed from continuous practice.

The key to personal development is the constant interaction with the real world: to create real projects managed by the entrepreneurial team from the f irst day, working with real clients and viewers in creative and cultural f ields.

CREATIVE CHANGEMAKERS are the protagonists, creating projects as a team and the team coach is responsible for supporting and facilitating this process, not directing it.

Team coaches and a team of support experts are the f igures that facilitate this process with a role similar to that of a sports team coach. Its task is to guide, advise, ask questions, challenge, motivate, advise, narrate experiences...

This methodology is completed with creation journeys where entrepreneurs have the opportunity to become global professionals by being able to meet and interact with different cultures and meet and collaborate with other international entrepreneurs, artists and experts. These trips train their participants to work in a globalized, multilingual and culturally diverse world. In LEINN ARTS, creation journeys allow a direct relationship with the most important cities in relation to creative industries worldwide: Berlin, Bilbao, New York and Bogota.

A pioneer method with Finnish origins combined with Mondragon cooperatives philosophy

We offer brave people the opportunity to change the world. We apply a f lexible model of competency-based learning. We believe in the transformative capacity of people and the world of human relationships, art and creativity, team learning, experiencing the unknown, and of learning by doing and of connecting with the whole world. Do, lead, explore and share are the four pillars of our methodology. It is our way of committing ourselves to the future. LEINN ARTS is based more on the development of abilities and skills, rather than learning facts or content.

_Team Learning by Creating_

Team entrepreneurship applied to creative industries is one of the main foundations of the degree. We multiply team talent to develop better ideas: it’s the way to take projects further. You will create your own creative project and put knowledge into practice to gene-rate value in society. Learn from successes and mistakes through real projects that require capacity and courage. We do, we create and invent as a team.

_Leadership of your own learning_

Each entrepreneur is different and unique, that is why there are not two identical learning paths. Our curriculum responds to the individual needs of the LEINNers and the needs of their projects.

_International training_

We encourage international experiences to enrich the journey and growth of each LEINNer. Living with other cultures, languages and ideologies means possibilities at the global level and a new range of perspectives. Learning and living in the most interesting places accor-ding to creative industries globally enables to create professional networks and opportuni-ties worldwide.

_Understanding creative processes_

Through a concept of Art Labs we will experiment different topics from art and creative processes such as color, movement, space and sound, which will enable us to understand in f irst person how the creative processes work, as well as to experiment and innovate in projects that we develop.

_Curating cultural and artistic experiences_

Part of the learning method is to create from day one, not only for themselves but also for others. LEINNers learn to create, program and curate cultural and artistic experiences through experimenting. This means they are able to live through the whole experience of creating and choosing content, designing the experience and reaching out to the atten-dees.

_Learning from the industry_

We build understanding of the creative industries and opportunities in the f ield through workshops, masterclasses and participation in the most important events with the key players from the f ield. Powered by Last Tour, one of the most active and innovative cultural agents in Europe.

This is not a place to study art technique, but a place to become an entrepreneur in arts and creative industries.

The whole study plan is worked through the lens of the arts and creative industries. These courses are complemented by masterclasses and events with industry professionals for gaining a stronger understanding of the f ield and art labs to experiment creative processes.

Mondragon Team Academy (MTA World) is a global network of social innovation ecosystem labs based on team-entrepreneurship.

MTA was created in May 2008 by an intrapreneurial team in Mondragon University in close co-operation with TiimiAkatemia in Finland.

MTA is a vibrant international community made up of +1500 entrepreneurs in teams, with +80 team companies created and 14 MTA labs operating in 4 continents: Europe (Irun, Oñate, Madrid, Bilbao, Valencia, Barcelona, Berlin), Asia (Shanghai, Seoul, Pune), America (Seattle, Puebla, Querétaro) and Africa (Kenya).

LEINN Arts application and admission process is not the same as in the usual Bachelor’s degree. It is not based on entering exams´marks only, but on a casting process based on interviews and small challenges. If applicants are not based close to one of our MTA Labs, the casting process will be done using video call.
