Thank You! To the staff, congregation, family & friends,

What a glorious retirement celebration! I appreciate so many of you taking the time to share it with me. Thank you for the generous gifts from the congregation, the session and the wonderful “Hail Retirement Time” from Tom and the choir! To Linda Owens, Nancy Avery, Deb Gugel, Cathy Boleyn and all of the Fellowship Commission, your hard work was apparent in your gracious hosting. And all the good wishes in the memory books – quite overwhelming!

You are an extraordinary congregation. I appreciate having been able to share in important parts of your lives through the years – the babies and baptisms, your growing families, confirmations, graduations, weddings - the good times and the difficult ones. I am especially grateful for your recent prayers and support for my family this past year.

Dave & I are looking forward to this next chapter in our lives. We have no plans to relocate, but hope to do more traveling. We’ll see you in church on Sundays! Peace to you all.

Love, Martha With a grateful heart I would like to thank Session Members, Fellowship Commission Members, and the Sunday Morning Adult Bible School Members who helped with planning, setting-up and cleaning-up for Martha Costain’s Retirement Luncheon. I would also like to thank all the congregation members who made cookies and made donations of supplies, ASP for their donation of balloons from the Tricky Tray, and the choir for their wonderful fun song. Happy retirement, Martha!

Nancy Lynn Avery

Session took the following actions:

As part of the conversation about hiring for the new Adminis-trative Assistant Position, it was decided by session vote that the church will not consider church members as candidates for the position. Personnel is working on a volunteer list for phone coverage for May through mid-June, when Sharon Dougherty will return to cover the office in the summer months. This will give us time to finalize the job description and hire a new Ad-ministrative Assistant.

The Christian Education Commission was granted permission to set aside a parking space behind the PFC for a Sunday School teacher on Sunday mornings.

Session received an updated report from those in conversation with members of the Trinity United Church. Conversation continues around possible points of shared ministry that we could do to-gether. No decisions or commitments have been made on our behalf, nor can they until the question of our Head of Staff is settled and we are ready to develop a job description for a pro-gram staff person.

The Stewardship Campaign in conversation with Buildings & Grounds reported the following up-dates:

Capital Campaign Pledge & Payment Update. The 2018 Annual Report listed the 2018 capital campaign pledge/gifts of $432,670. In late December an addition gift of $10,000 was received but was not included in the annual report. The updated total for 2018 cap-ital campaign pledges and gifts is $442,670. Combined with the stained glass window fund from prior years and the deacon’s donation yields a total of $477,804 (91% of $525,000 goal). Total payments toward the 2018 capital campaign pledges was $216,907 (49% of the 2018 pledge) as of March 27,2019.

Project Updates:

Kitchen Repairs and Upgrade. This project has been completed. We are awaiting final inspections. Thanks to John A and the B&G team.

Church HVAC. This project is complete (except for cosmetic repairs to the re-ception bathroom.

Bell Tower. Engineering design work completed on the support design for the bell platform.

Stained Glass Window Restoration. The committee met w ith a consultant from Associated Crafts to detail work to be done in order to create an updated pro-posal. A walkthrough inspection of all windows was completed with the consultant.
