Basic First Aid

This basic first aid course has been written by an emergency first aid instructor and provides an understanding of basic first aid equipment, and training on what to do if you are the first on the scene of an accident. The course will help you become confident in dealing with minor injuries, choking, bleeding control, identifying other injuries and CPR in adults and children.

This online training is purely for guidance purposes only and does not replace practical training. This course is best suited to low-risk workplaces, such as shops, offices and restaurants, which do not require a qualified first-aider but must appoint somebody in charge of the first aid arrangements. We maintain the validity of our courses, including changes in practices to ensure the training material is always up-to-date.

Final Test

Once you have completed the online training you will be able to take the final test.

• There are 30 questions• The pass rate is 90%• Two attempts, if you fail both you will have to

retake the course• You can take the test as many times as you need

with no extra charge

The Training

On completing the course learners will:

• Know basic principles in First Aid• Understand the basic procedures to treat injuries and the prevention of infection• Have the knowledge to deal with first-aid situations when at the scene of an accident• Have sufficient information when faced with CPR on an adult, child or infant• Knowledge on some of the First Aid equipment which could be used

Duration

Approximately one hour for the entire course. You can claim one CPD hour towards your professional development.

This course is certificated on its completion. The length of time you take is entirely dependent on how quickly you can study and absorb the information. Remember, it’s important to learn the content, and not to rush through the course. Please do take notes during these courses.

Certification

This course has been accredited by the CPD Certification Service as conforming to the universally accepted Continuous Professional Development Guidelines. On successful completion you can download and print your certificates from the learner management system.
