Gauge: 10 sts x 16 rows = 4” (10 cm) in 2x2 Rib pattern with smaller needles. Abbreviations: CO = Cast On K = Knit K2tog = Knit 2 stitches together P = Purl PM = Place Marker Rnd(s) = Round(s) St(s) = Stitch(es)

Begin Pattern: CO 48, (56) sts. PM.Join in the rnd being careful not to twist sts. 2x2 Ribbing: Rnds: *[K2, P2]; repeat from * to end of rnd. Work 2x2 Ribbing for 3" (4"). Change to US 13 knitting needles. Seed Stitch: Rnd 1: *[K1, P1]; repeat from * to end of rnd. Rnd 2: *[P1, K1]; repeat from * to end of rnd. Continue in Seed Stitch until 8” (9") from CO edge.
