Choose a sport you have never played before!Be prepared to join a Marymount team!

The following pages provide information on Athletic Camps offered through Marymount this summer. With the exception of the Fitness for Life Camp, these courses are designed for current or incoming Marymount students to strengthen and maintain their athletic skills during the summer.

RegistrationTo register, please visit the Marymount Summer website, summer.mhs-la.org.*Please note: Participation in these camps does not secure a place on any of the Marymount teams during the school year. Tryouts will take place before each sports season to determine the teams.

Student safety is a top priority for Marymount. Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that students are provided with transportation to and immediately following each camp, whether on or off campus. Supervision is not provided once the camp hours end.

Fitness for Life - open to all girls!This fun and unique camp is open to girls in grades 6-12, whether or not they are Marymount students. This camp is designed to empower young women to find their inner strength through the use of physical activity, and to discover how strong, powerful, and beautiful they are from the inside out! Camp activities may include: pilates, spinning, yoga, zumba, hiking, water aerobics, hula hooping, relay races, roller skating, boxing, ice skating, trampoline AIRobics, boot camp, beach volleyball, TRX training, scavenger hunts, cooperative games, team building initiatives, dance, meditation and stress activities, nutrition workshops, and much more! *For Marymount students, one week of Fitness for Life camp earns 25 hours of PE credit!

ArcheryDiscover archery! Marymount coach, John Stevens, teaches Olympic style archery. This camp will be at Rancho Park in Cheviot Hills. Come learn a new sport or gain practice in this age-old activity.June 10, 11, 13, 17, 18, & 203:30-5:30 PM$120 for three sessions$225 for six sessions

GolfThis camp offered by Marymount golf coaches, Eddie Rosenberg and Ken Knott, is open to all incoming and returning students. It is designed for all levels of ability and no previous experience is necessary in order to participate. Each day will include instruction, practice, and course play. Local courses will be used. The golf camp experience is highly recommended for those students interested in trying out for the Marymount Golf Team in the fall.July 22 - July 269:00 AM-3:00 PM$400All green fees, range balls, and transportation to the courses are included in the price. However, students must provide their own water, packed lunch, golf clubs and golf balls for on course play.

BasketballThe Marymount basketball coaches will be holding a five-day basketball camp on campus this summer. The camp will focus on shooting, ball handling, technique, and individual moves. The camp is open to all incoming students, returning basketball players, and any other Marymount student interested in developing her individual skills with a view to trying out for the Marymount team. July 15 - July 191:30-3:30 PM$200

RunningStudents interested in joining the Marymount Cross Country or Track Team are strongly encouraged to attend this camp. The camp is designed to improve basic running techniques and will take place on campus or at UCLA. Emphasis will be placed on endurance, speed, and specific techniques. Head varsity cross country and track coach, Lasan Darboe, will be leading this camp. The camp is open to all incoming students, returning cross country and track athletes, and any other Marymount student interested in trying out for the team in August. August 12 - August 164:00-6:00 PM $200

SoccerTony Green, head varsity soccer coach of 22 years, will be holding a soccer camp this June. The camp will focus on skill development, technique, positioning, and scrimmages. This camp is offered to all incoming and returning students.June 24 - June 281:00-3:00 PM$200

SoftballHead varsity softball coach, Jay Bandele, will be holding a softball camp this summer at a local park (TBA). This camp is open to all incoming students, returning softball players, and any other Marymount student interested in developing her individual softball skills with a view to trying out for the Marymount Softball Team. July 29 - August 21:30-3:30 PM$200

SwimmingHead varsity swim coach, Thomas Iannone, will be running this swim camp designed to develop and refine proper technique and increase endurance. All levels of ability are welcome. This camp, offered at the Marymount pool, is open to incoming students and returning swimmers and is highly recommended for those students planning to tryout for the 2013-2014 swim team. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and ThursdaysJuly 2 - July 25*1:30-3:30 PM$120 for three sessions (one week)$240 for six sessions (two weeks)$340 for nine sessions (three weeks)$460 for twelve sessions (four weeks)*There will be no camp on Thursday, July 4. There will be a replacement camp on Friday, July 5.

TennisBe prepared for the tennis season before it starts! This camp is designed to introduce new players to the program and to build on the high level of tennis that Marymount has established. The camp will be offered at Marymount’s tennis courts and is directed by Stanford Poon, head varsity tennis coach. It will focus on stroke analysis, drills, conditioning, and team strategy. June 24 - June 281:00-3:00 PM $200

VolleyballThe Marymount head volleyball coach, Cari Klein, is offering a camp this summer for any student interested in trying out for the Marymount volleyball team in the fall. The camp is open to all incoming and returning Marymount students. It will focus on conditioning, skill development, individual positioning, and scrimmages. The camp will be held in the Marymount Pavilion and will run three days.August 19 - August 219:00 AM-12:00 PM and 6:00-9:00 PM$360

Water PoloNicole Barker, head varsity water polo coach, will be holding a water polo camp designed to focus on different skills, knowledge of the game, techniques, and scrimmages. The camp is offered to all incoming and returning students and may feature collegiate water polo players as special guests. It is highly recommended for those students planning to play water polo at Marymount. August 12 - August 168:00-11:00 AM$260
