AP’s Bulk Feed tanks and Flex-Flo™ perfectly illustrate the atten-
tion to detail that quality demands. AP is a division of the GSi Group,
inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of corrugated, galvanized steel
storage tanks (from the smallest feed tanks to massive 100 feet/31
meters tall, 15,000+ ton capacity commercial giants).
every component is made from the finest raw materials available.
every stage of the forming process, from corrugation to die-cut shap-
ing to precision finishing, is done under one roof and under our
direct control and supervision.

*capacities are calculated at 40 lbs. per cubic foot with no compaction and to full cubic foot capacities. 6’, 7’ and 9’ (1.83m, 2.13m and 2.7m) diameter tanks are designed for the storage of free-flowing material having a density of no more than 40 lbs. per cubic foot. 12’ and 15’ (3.66m and 4.57m) diameter tanks are designed for the storage of free-flowing material having a density of no more than 45 lbs. per cubic foot. experience has proven that many bulk feed materials have unpredictable storage characteristics. it is absolutely necessary to install an appropriate agitator in feed tanks storing soybean meal, cotton seed meal, hot feeds and other products not considered as free-flowing materials.

HoppER BoTTomS tank hoppers are available in three slopes: 45° for
dry, free flowing grains and 60° or 67° for harder flow-
ing feed.
Like the roof panels, hopper panels are die-formed
with rounded corners and down-turned sealing edges
for safety and a weather-tight fit. in addition, assembly
with rounded, truss-head bolts reduces "bridging" of
contents on inner surfaces.
By fitting snugly into the offset outward throat of the
hopper, the heavy gauge galvanized steel collar pro-
vides a perfectly smooth internal transition for optimum
flow, as well as a sure-fit adapter for all 16" (406mm)
unloading accessories. Hoppers are available at no
additional cost with an optional 22" (559mm) opening
which adapts to our rotary unloader. . . or the larger,
heavy duty 22" (559mm) metal boot.
exclusive to AP hoppers, the "eave", the upper edge
where the hopper is joined to the sidewall, is specially
die-formed to conform to the shape of the sidewall
corrugation (See A.). most other manufacturers depend
on crimping and bolt pressure to force the connection
(See B.) . . . which produces corrosion-prone distortion
and “dimpling” of the
sidewall. AP's die-
formed eave provides
a much tighter seal
and smoother flow
of material.
THE BEST BooT poSSiBLE AP's 16" (406mm)
parabolic boot (available in
straight drop or 30° mod-
els) is made from the very
latest in ultra high impact
polypropylene for greater
flexibility, dependability
and durability. most of our
competitors still use the
older ABS plastic, which
is stiff, brittle and prone
to fracture, cracking and
tear-out, especially where
it's attached to steel. it is
impossible for ABS to be
uV stabilized, thus creat-
ing a built in deterioration
factor over time.
in addition, AP's poly-
propylene resin blend
contains special chemical
ultraviolet light inhibitors
and impact modifiers to
further enhance durability
and resilience.
HEavy dUTy mETaL BooT multiple outlet requirements
can be easily handled by our
22" (559mm) all metal boot.
this boot, which can be fitted to any AP feed bin, will
allow installation of up to four feed lines in several direc-
tions at once.
dRip Lip AP’s drip lip water deflec-
tion system is a one-of-a-
kind, roll-formed bottom
sheet edge. it forces water
away from the hopper and
lower boot area, giving com-
plete weather protection
without a loss in capacity.

distributing feed to the feeders controllably, cleanly and efficiently is the specific
function of AP's Flex-Flo™ Auger System. Flexibility applies to the entire system and its
adaptability to your specific needs — in feeds, in house layout, and in installation
and maintenance.
using PVc tubing as the carrier of feed not only provides flexibility in facility design,
but reduces dust, provides protection against insect and rodent contamination, reduc-
es noise, therefore reducing stress and offering longer life.

UnivERSaL SEnSoR AP's universal Sensor is truly universal, it adapts to control voltages from 24 to
240 volts and can operate either normally open or normally closed. this switch
utilizes technology that is not sensitive to changes in temperature or humidity elimi-
nating the need for a sensitivity adjustment. the convenient push button interface
allows you to quickly and precisely program an on delay from one second to three
hours to prevent short cycling of the feed system. Leds indicate the status of the
switch at all times.
the universal Sensor is available pre-mounted and
pre-wired in the Flex-Flo control unit. this control unit
features an oversized outlet to prevent feed bridging.
FLEx-FLo™ modELS Both tubing and augers are available in a variety
of models to fit your specific requirements. Whether
its ground feed, crumble feed, mash, high moisture
corn, shelled corn or pellets, AP has the combina-
tions to handle it.
For corn up to 27% moisture and other
hard to flow materials, the Flex-Flo™ High
roughage system incorporates a special
combination of a model 300 (75mm)
auger in a model 350 (90mm)

apcd-500 control for automated feeding
chain disk is the ideal feed system for auto-mated farrowing feed-ing.
8 chain disk feed delivery system
conTRoL every chain disk feed delivery system is
equipped with a control panel to insure proper
operation of the system. An adjustable maxi-
mum run timer is incorporated into the control-
ler that will shut down the chain-disk system
if it runs continuously for an excessive amount
of time indicating that a bin has run empty or that a costly feed spill is occurring. A
current sensor constantly monitors the amp draw of the chain-disk drive motor to
prevent overloading of the system. if excessive amp draw is detected, the control will
temporarily shut down the fill line allowing the chain-disk to continue to operate dis-
charging the feed and lowering the amp draw to an acceptable level. the control will
then restart the fill line allowing the system to continue to operate.
the APcd-500 chain-disk controller is specifically designed for automated drop
feeding in farrowing barns. this control has the same features as the standard chain-
disk controller but also features a timer and outputs for drop feeding actuators. this
control can also be linked with your Airstream ventilation controllers allowing the
control to be monitored and settings to be adjusted from a remote Pc.
today’s complex multi-ration feeding programs demand complete flexibility in
feed delivery. twisting and turning through multiple farrowing rooms while delivering
feed to AP’s Farrowing drop Feeders present no challenge to the AP chain disk Feed
delivery System. High capacities at long distances with multiple turns is what it was
designed for.
the needs of today’s multi-ration nursery and finishing units are also met with AP’s
chain disk Feed delivery System, the ultimate in dependable recirculating systems.
this system gives maximum flexibility in servicing multiple feed lines with a variety
of rations.
Power actuated drop kits are available that can facilitate dropping more than one
ration into different feeders within the same room.
our goal is to work hand and hand with today’s producer to provide feeding
equipment needed to adapt to our rapidly changing technologies for years to come.

Econo-dRop FEEd diSpEnSER Get reliable performance at an affordable price
with AP’s econo-drop Feed dispenser. the front
mounted, adjustment slide allows precise one hand-
ed adjustment from 1.5 to 12 lbs. providing accurate
control of feed delivery to gestating or lactating sows.
the feeder is molded from uV stabilized, clarified
polypropylene plastic providing a semi-transparent
feeder body that allows visual confirmation of the
feed level. each econo-drop feeder is equipped with
a slide shut off valve to be used when the feeder
is not in use. A simple weighted ball valve securely
closes the feeder and when emptying provides agita-
tion as it is raised through the feed. in addition, the
steep hopper slopes insure complete clean out.
econo-drop feeders can be tripped manually by a
lever or winch or can be fully automated to provide
multiple unattended feedings.
ULTRa-dRop FEEd diSpEnSER the ultra-drop feeder is specifically
designed to meet the requirements of
automated feeding of both lactating and
gestating sows. A half turn of the convenient
adjustment knob adjusts the feeder from
1 to 8 pounds, low enough for multiple
feedings in lactation and high enough for
once a day feedings in gestation. the semi-
transparent feeder body allows for visual
confirmation of the feed level and proper
operation of the feeder at a glance. A
weighted ball valve securely closes off the
feeder and provides agitation as it is lifted
through the feed insuring complete clean
out. ultra-drop feeders can be dumped
manually using either a lever or winch or
can be equipped with electric or pneumatic
actuators for timed automated feedings.

designed to fill the highly
precise requirements of
today’s diverse production
systems, AP’s Accu-drop
Feed dispenser is adjust-
able from 1.5 - 12 pounds.
the pre-assembled feeder
installs quickly and is con-
structed of stainless steel,
durable clear PVc and
injection molded polypro-
pylene for consistent qual-
ity. Feeders feature simple
eye level adjustment by
raising or lowering the internal volume adjustment cup which
is held securely in place by a convenient set knob. Feeders are
dumped simultaneously by raising the ball valves. the system
can be dumped manually by levers or winches or with a fully
automated actuator system operated by a programmable timer
which also controls the feed systems and watering valves.TRickLE FEEdinG trickle Feeding Systems
from AP are ideally suited to
provide automated feeding
of gestating sows in group
housing. the low rPm trick-
le feed auger can be adjust-
ed to the consumption rate
of the slowest sows elimi-
nating aggressive behavior
caused by competition for
feed. trickle feed adapters
can be used to convert new
or existing feed systems to trickle feeding allowing for the cost-effective
conversion of existing facilities to group housing with
trickle feeding.
combine AP’s chain-disk feed delivery system, ultra-drop
feeder and intak feed dispenser for maximum feed intake,
precision ration control and minimum labor cost. the ultra-
drop feeder provides accurate control for limit feeding and
doubles as a holding hopper when sows are fed ad-lib. the
translucent feeder and feed tube provide confirmation at a
glance that sows are eating.
