Agenda

› LSZH SID with RF leg

› LSZC RNP APCH to

LNAV in mountainous

terrain

3

LSZH RNAV SID 34: Goals

› Trial to gain experience for future RF leg applications.

› Collect data to be used for future design RF leg procedures.

› Minimize noise (reduction of flight tracks distribution in turn).

4

RF SID VEBIT 1K LSZH RWY 34

› Overlay to existing SID, but different SID designator

› Low traffic numbers on DEP 34

› RNAV 1, GNSS only

› RF leg on first turn

› Narrow radius: 2.1 NM

› Implementation:

18 OCT 2012

5

Monitoring: Flight tracks 18 OCT to 29 AUG 2013

RF SID: 1224 flights Non RF SID: 679 flights:

6

Monitoring: Track deviation RF SID

Noise monitoring: Overflight densitiy

7

All departures after 18 OCT All departures before 18 OCT

RF SID: Lessons learnt

› Good track performance, robust procedure

› Concentration of noise

› 65% of SID 34 DEP at LSZH able to fly RF legs

› Only RF leg-capable aircraft get RF SID packed in FMS database

› RF leg capability not part of FPL 2012, increased R/T

LSZC RNP APCH to LNAV: Goals

› Cloud break procedure for Pilatus Aircraft Ltd

› Use of RNAV approach for test flights

› Use initially limited to pilots operating for Pilatus Aircraft Ltd

Final Approach LNAV

VMC part

› Non straight-in followed by a VMC part

› Chart title: RNAV (GNSS) A

› Aeronautical study to address flight

OPS risks

› Special pilot qualification required

› MDA initially 3500 ft,

VIS 3000 m, day only

› Implementation foreseen for 14 NOV 2013
