Darjeeling Himalayan Railway

Darjeeling is a Himalayan city in the State of West Bengal, at an altitude of 6710ft, which is counted Lesser Himalaya range. Darjeeling can be reached by 88

km long Darjeeling Himalaya Railways from New Jalpaiguri, or by national highway 55. It is approximately 70km from Bagdogra and Siliguri. When we think about Darjeeling the two things which strike our mind are the famous

Darjeeling tea industry and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railways. One must have a sip of the Darjeeling black tea. Darjeeling tea cannot be manufactured anywhere else in the world, and therefore it is called the champagne of teas. This beautiful hill station is surrounded by tea plantation and to explore this, one should visit

the Happy Valley Tea Estate, located around 3km from Darjeeling. It is one of the highest tea gardens in the world and is open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 8

am to 4 pm. The perfect time to visit this tea estate is from March to November, when you can see tea plucking. It is best to avoid Darjeeling during the monsoon

season from June to September
