Great amount of traffic can be expected; therefore, the new bookie in Riverfront campus will be constantly utilized by students, faculties, as well as public.The fabulous store front brings a new modern construction into the new modern construction into the campus. The idea is to design a horizontal structure that roots deeply to the surroundingThe auditorium comes with xed 84 seats to accommodate various large events including music performances, lectures, and so on. The new university retail shop has initiated with four goals; to make a space where people can comfortably linger; adaptive reuse of the old historical warehouse locating in the middle of the parking lot in the riverpoint campus; the building will utilize sustainable design strategies that meet today’s economical standards; the building has mixed-use of activities, including mercantile, business, as well as of activities, including mercantile, business, as well as

assembly type occupancy. The most of the installed furniture are either recycled or aquired from the local habitat shop to decrease the newly acquired furniture. In order to achieve thesustainable goal, using recycled furniture and re--nished them.

The greyhound old warehouse has been abandon fordecades until the new bookie project initiated. the project designer started to contact the local recycle shops to collect all the used furniture that can be re-used for this project. solely the auditorium, the space accommodates 84 xed seats with 2 wheel chair area in the front. all The theater seatings are locally acquired and re nished by the local seatings are locally acquired and re nished by the local furniture craftsmen.

In the mercantile occupant space, the bookie alsofacilitates a little dining space where cafeteria isinstalled to serve locally acquired coffee. The tablesets in the faceteria are of course recycled andre- nished.

When we worked on the interior design, it was important to realize how the current trend in Malaysia has been. Becausethe client’s target customers are rather young generations thanolder people.

Today. Malaysia has gone through cultural transformation.Muslim culture had been dominant in the country for decades.However, after penetrating the western culture in recent years,However, after penetrating the western culture in recent years,the rooted culture of Muslim has been altered, and sexual expression in public space has been somewhat allowed.

The restroom design is particularly reeecting the altered culture.

DANCE CLUB GIVES APPLAUSE TO A NEW-AGE CULTURE”

The restroom design in the club Rootz was difficult to get approval from the client as well as the local juristic ti on.This is due to the Muslim policy that sexual expression is strictly prohibited.

The design is intended to create a counter-Muslim cultural design that layouts both 300 half-naked male and female photos in the restroom of the club. We wanted to experiment photos in the restroom of the club. We wanted to experiment to see how the younger generation perceives this design.

Having the sexy photos throughout the male and female restroom, people in the club will enhance customers’ pleasure. The layout of the photos are strategically placed so that the images near vanity have lighter background to avoid showing water stain.

The male restroom is lled with 300 sexy female photos. One signi cant criteria in choosing theappropriate images is that they need to be international. This means different ethnicity canbe more appealing to various customers. Finidngright images of male was much harder than we expected. we expected.

CONCEPT STATEMENT

DESIGN INTENT

The Building was constructed in 1909 by Albert Held and used as the second largest warehouse in Spokane’s Central Business District. The building structure primarily consists of a series of the wood column, beams and brick wall, and they are well preserved to be reused.

The contrast in forms emhasizes the relationship that designers have with the creative process. Lines are designers, and the central object is “creative ideas”. The arms of desigrer donot know any borders and continuously seek further creative potential.

The design is aimed to support the creative activities, collaborative teamwork, and create a relax, comfortable, but also professional working environment.
