TRENDS IN EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY (MEANS TO AN END)

Nationally, there were an estimated 1,816,400 enrollments in distance-education courses in K-12 school districts in 2009-2010, almost all of which were online courses. 74% of these enrollments were in high schools.

AVI CHAI study in 2012 showed that only 23.4% of day schools offer online courses to their students and only a handful of their students (defined as less than 5%) are enrolled in the online courses.
