After the speaking engagement, a film screening of an interview with Attorney Benjamin Ferencz, Chief Prosecutor for the United States at the Nuremberg Trials, will be held in INS 218 (Huntzinger).

The Pauly Friedman Art Gallery will be open this evening until 9:00 p.m. and is featuring Deadly Medicine: Creating the Master Race, a traveling exhibition from the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. This exhibition has been made possible by The Lerner Foundation and Eric F. and Lore Ross, with additional support from the Lester Robbins and Shelia Johnson Robbins Traveling and Special Exhibitions Fund Established in 1990.

Dr. Carol Rittner, RSM Distinguished Professor Emerita of Holocaust and Genocide Studies and the Dr. Marsha Raticoff Grossman Emerita Professor of Holocaust Studies at Stockton University.

Drs. Rittner and Elliott will provide an overview of pedagogical approaches to teaching issues related to and about the Holocaust.

Dr. Wielgus will discuss Hannah Arendt’s work and the medical language of the Holocaust.

HUMAN TESTING AND THE HOLOCAUST: IS IT AN ABERRATION? HOW FAR HAVE WE COME?NAME: RABBI ROGER LERNER TEMPLE B’NAI B’RITH, KINGSTON DATE: WEDNESDAY - MARCH 1 - 12:00 P.M.

Rabbi Lerner will discuss the history of human testing before, during, and after the Holocaust. We will look at both means, ends, and justifications and see in what ways they overlap and diverge. Finally, we will see what laws are in place now, if they are sufficient and effective.

These speaking engagements are being partially funded by the Catherine and Daniel Flood Endowment for the Humanities and the Medical and Health Humanities Program.
