contrasting ideas, styles and cultures. Welcome….

Eel and Shagreen are already well known as exotic leathers for the Home Furnishings Industry.

Pescada-Amarela is a Yellow Hake (Cynoscion acoupa) is a species of fish caught mainly for food.

These animals come to measure up to 1.30m in length, having an elongated body, silver on the back,

yellowish on the belly and clear fins. Pescada are also known by the names of calafetão, Cambucu,

cupa, guatupuca, hake-husky, hake-of-scale, hake, bream, hake ticupá, hake true, tacupapirema,

ticoá, ticupá and tucupapirema. The primary use of Pescada is for eating by the local people not for

export, so using it as an exotic skin breathes new life into fish skins that are usually discarded by the

seafood industry. 100% of our Pescada skins are by-products of the food industry. Using eco-friendly

leather is made by repurposing the by-product of the salmon industry. Salmon skin leather has some

truly unique properties, not only aesthetically but physically. It is a very strong & flexible material

(more so than cow leather), and it has an amazing 3D texture, which has been compared to Python

leather, except that salmon leather has a softer suede like feel to it. Salmon Skin as a textile is very

beneficial for the environment and the local population creating jobs opportunities. Salmon skin is

much like Shagreen, which is a stingray skin/leather. Salmon is known for its strength and elegant

look, the most popular fish leather.
