Kerala has a rich & glorious past in education.Stands as the most literate state & as a state that provides elementary education to all pursuing higher education.Various religions like Hinduism, Jainism, Christianity etc. attributed much to the education of Kerala

The earlier education

Education was basically religious in its nature eg. Jainism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity etc. Salais where Brahmin youth received free

education Numerous schools were set up by the Kings, the

missionaries etc.

The main policy changes

Introduction of self-financing colleges in the early 1990sFrom 1998, the pre degree courses were delinked in a phased manner from arts and science colleges and brought under the higher secondary schools as plus two courses, a process that was completed in 2001.Kerala Higher Education Council (KSHEC) has initiated reforms in undergraduate arts and science education, which envisages a radical overhauling of the existing structure and practices.

Conclusion

Sea changes have been happened in the higher education field.

More professional & quality education happens as of now.
