Time management ‘musts’

• Calendar• To-do list• Anti-procrastination plan

Calendars

• Be specific • Track all deadlines• Constantly review week-ahead• Assess the week-behind• Think about goals (short term) specifically!

To-do lists

• Think about what you have to do• Estimate time for each task• Prioritize!• Cross off completed tasks• Evaluate and review to-do lists constantly

Procrastination

• Commit to ending it---that simple!• Consider costs of delays• Assess why you procrastinate (hate the task itself,

perfectionist, worrier, overdoer, dreamer)• Get started in a manageable way• Give up on the idea of ‘someday’

Exercise

• Groups of 3-4• Review each others’ calendars• Look at how you spent your time in the last week• Find your three biggest time demands (school,

family/friends, work, leisure, commute) and total up the time spent on each

• Identify your three biggest time wasters (no discernible benefit)

• Share something that you are currently procrastinating/putting off
