Adding a 7302 FD Subrack in Existing Racks

•For thermal and cabling reasons, any Alcatel-Lucent subracks(with a maximum of 2 active subracks and 1 passive/splittersubrack) must be positioned in the FD cabinet.

• ISAM LT subracks must be mounted at the bottom of the rack onrack vertical pitch number 60 (subrack pitch number 1). This way,

a free air inlet is created of about 75 mm below the bottom ISAMsubrack.

• The distance between 2 indication lines (identical to the distancebetween 2 mounting holes) is 25 mm. This results in a bottom FDLT mounting position of 60 x 25 = 1500 mm from the top of the

rack.

•  Above the top ISAM subrack, an free air exhaust space of 75 mmmust be foreseen.

Danger 1 —

Before working on the power supplyunit, verify if it is not live. If the power supply islive, which can deliver -48Vdc or -60Vdc, you mustuse an insulated tool kit and consult the manual onworking on live components.

Danger 2  —   Avoid risk of electric shock! Always wear protective gloves and footwear for allhandling tasks. Carefully follow the instructions.

To adjust the difference between the width of the NT board (30mm) and thewidth of the LT board (25mm), a 5mm stiffener is mounted by default beside the

slot for NTB in all delivered 7302 FD subracks.

Note: In case the stiffener isremoved (for example, for makingan NT redundant configuration), itshould be retained for later usewhen the system is converted backto an 18 LT system.

Managing Fiber Optic Cables for NT Boards andNTIO Boards

The NTs can be populated with either single-mode or multimode SFP and XFPmodules. The NTIO can be populated with either single-mode or multimode SFPmodules. The number of receptacles depends on the board type. Each of theconnectors are LC connectors and have a Tx port and an Rx port.

Managing Fiber Optic Cables for LT Boards

The GPON SFPs require an SC/APC connector. For NELT-A and NELT-B, 90° fiberconnector strain relief boots are required.

Note 1: In the case of bidirectional fiber optic cables as usedwith the NGLT, the transmit and receive signals are carried onthe same fiber and only have one optical connector.

Note 2: The NGLT-x boards must only be used in ISAMsystems with an FD 100Gbps (NANT-D) or an FD 320Gbps(NANT-E) NT board

Routing Fiber Optic Cables from LT Boards

Fiber optic cables from LT boards must be routed through the MDF cable area andthen up to the top of the subrack. It is also recommended to use protection tubes

in the rack cabling areas to clearly separate the fiber optic cables from the MDFcabling.

Run the fibers left and/or rightthrough cable inlets and ducts:

1. to the left fiber duct forboards in slots 01 to 08

2. to the right fiber duct forboards in slots 09 to 16 andpositions NTIO/17 and
