Altium Designer Installation Download the Altium 10 installation files. 

You will see this screen. 

 

Click next. 

   

 

 

Next click the “I accept the agreement” box and then ckick Next. 

Click cancel on the” Account Log In” box. 

 

Locate the “Repository Location” box and point it to the location where you saved the install files. 

   

 

 

In my case it was the D:\ drive. 

 

Click the next button. 

Make sure that the check boxes are configured as shown below. 

 

Now click next. 

   

You may change the destination folders if you want to.  Here are the default settings. 

 

   

Now click next to start the installation. 

 

   

Connecting to the License server  

After you start Altium Designer click on the top left tool bar button “DXP”. 

 

Select the “My Account” on the drop down menu. 

   

The My Account page will look something like this. 

 

Click the Setup private license server button. 

It should look something  like this. 

 

   

Fill in these fields and click OK. 

 

   

Now the My Account page will look something like this. 

 

Make sure you highlight the “Altium Designer Board Implementation, Release 10” license line. 

It is highlighted in blue here. 

   

Click on the “Use” button on the left. 

Now the My Account page will show that the license is used by you. 

 

If you are off campus you will need to VPN to the campus network in order to activate the license.
