Survey data and documentation requirements

1. Survey registration form. 2. Description of survey equipment, data acquisition and processing procedure (ideally, a copy of the

contractor's Operations and Processing Report). Reports in Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat PDF files are preferred.

3. Complete survey located datasets. Located data should include (as applicable) multi-channel radiometric, EM or spectral-scanner reflectance data or LiDAR point-cloud data as well as a header file describing the data format. ASEG-GDF2 format is preferred (or ASEG-ESF for AEM data) where applicable. Include gridded data also if available.

The simplest mechanism for reporting items 2 and 3 will be to have the survey contractor provide, at the time of final data delivery, an extra copy of all data, maps and reports as digital files on disk for transmittal to the Department.

Reporting conditions

One of the following options must be chosen — refer to the latest policy description document for details.

Reporting policy provisions — For surveys subject to obligatory reporting. Once-only reporting;

five-year total confidentiality period from date of survey completion unless otherwise agreed; five-

year multi-client conversion option with confirmation of sales agreement.

GSWA data repository — Option available only for surveys not subject to obligatory submission.

Indefinite confidentiality period; access conditions set by owner of the data.

Note: Data submitted in a statutory report will be governed under the standard conditions applying to the report.
