Moving with the times - adapting to changes in the domestic routine
AGA, the world’s most famous oven, was invented in 1922 by Nobel Prize winning Swedish physicist,
Gustaf Dalèn. Though steeped in heritage, AGA are very committed to capitalising on technical
innovations, ensuring they are still relevant in the 21st century.
In early 2012, AGA were preparing to launch the AGA iTotal Control. This innovative product would
allow users to control their ovens remotely and would be the first of its kind. AGA wanted to appeal to
the time pressed, tech savvy generation and had everything set to do so – except the software. They
began looking for a software development company that could quickly understand their needs and
deliver on their vision.

Keeping AGA at the heart of the home
AGA contacted Action Point, and we soon determined we could build and incorporate the required software into devices the customer already owned. We developed an app for iPhones, iPads, Android devices and the web. Users with none of these devices could control their ovens via text messages. The end result was an oven that’s always ready and able to follow your instruction.
The marrying of Action Point’s software and AGA’s design created a hugely popular product, filling a previously unseen gap in the market. It appealed to a wide, tech savvy audience who wanted the convenience of their house heated, or their meals ready when they arrived home. Action Point successfully helped AGA gain a new audience and stay at the forefront of modern living.
