He is known throughout the world among air cargo professionals for his resounding success coming from humble beginnings.

Muhammad Iskandar is Director at ABDA Group and is responsible for all Middle Eastern operations. Based in Dubai, he oversees the daily progress of Nas AIr and many other airlines under ABDA’s charge in and around the region. The Middle East and Africa stations have seen strong growth under his leadership.

Muhammad Zulkarnain is Director at ABDA Group and is primarily responsible for the Americas and developments in Malaysia. After a robust 2011, Zulkarnain has turned to optimize the operation at ABDA’s headquarters by growing the current fleet in Malaysia. He oversees expansionary efforts in the United States of America, targeting other major ports for expansion in the near future.

Cargo GSA/GSSA services stand for General Sales Agent/General Sales and Services Agent services. Essentially, this means airlines operating into a particular country would entrust ABDA Group with exclusive selling rights of their cargo capacity at agreed terms. This often includes the monitoring and administration of ground handling activities for cargo, import/export monitoring and vendor management for optimization of costs to the airline. All of which are provided by ABDA to most of our partner carriers on GSSA basis. This has been ABDA’s specialty in over 20 countries spanning 5 continents.

PASSENGER GSA/GSSA SERVICES

Though ABDA Group is a cargo-focused company, the company has handled passenger GSA/GSSA throughout the years as well. ABDA’s latest passenger contract is with the prestigious and well known Oman Air in Malaysia. With a sizable investment and focus of passenger selling strategies, Oman Air is seeing itself prosper in Malaysia and has aims to increase flights due to promising prospects.

TOTAL CARGO MANAGEMENT (TCM)

While GSSA contracts are aimed mainly at selling activities, Total Cargo Management (TCM) means complete and comprehensive management of an airline’s cargo di-vision. This means ABDA would take on all areas of managing a cargo or passen-ger carrier from sales, ground handling, cargo revenue accounting, operational audits, claims and insurance, communication with passenger division for schedul-ing, routing, fuel management, etc. ABDA has experience in this with NAS Air from Saudi Arabia managed by ABDA’s Dubai office.

In addition, ABDA has played an active role in the growth and success of the world’s most successful TCM company, Leisure Cargo GmBH. Owned by Air Berlin Group, Leisure Cargo and ABDA work together to manage and market the capac-ity of 19 airlines wherever the airlines choose to deploy aircraft. This has been a most successful venture, with Leisure Cargo touching record turnover figures of well over 100 million euros in 2011.

WIDESPREAD AND CONCRETE INTER-AIRLINE COOPERATION (INTERLINE PROGRAMS)

ABDA utilizes its vast network of partners and creates new synergies among them to create new links by allowing the smoother transfer of air cargo to destinations previously unreachable by some airlines through the sharing of airline flight networks. As an example, due to ABDA’s efforts in Thailand, airlines from within the Leisure Cargo group can now connect cargo from Thailand to Australia, South East Asia and the Far East. This in fact allows for an increase in the number of destinations served by the group, seeing as most of their flights originate from Europe and do not reach these lucrative Eastern des-tinations. In total, ABDA Group has created countless connections like these over 30 years.

A WORLDWIDE EXCESS BAGGAGE DELIVERY SERVICE

A serviced pioneered by ABDA Group, this service aims to place Excess Baggage counters in every major airport in the world. The service then allows travelers with excess goods to send goods to their final destinations at rates up to 70% cheaper than what airlines charge as excess baggage fees. This creates a hassle-free environment for travelers allowing them to travel with ease.


OTHER PIVOTAL SERVICES

ABDA Group has a global presence and an established network of airlines, freight forwarders and vendors for airline-related services. ABDA Group has provided assistance to many airlines in reducing their costs in areas such as ground handling agreements, trucking networks throughout the world, fuel costs for stop-over flights and more.
