COLLEGE PROFILE

VVN DEGREE COLLEGE, a unit of vvn trust is one of the pioneer institutions in Bangalore, providing academically excellent value based education for girl students of all segments of society at an affordable cost.

In 1981, VVN Trust took over the administration of Kannada Primary School, Middle School and High School from Maharashtra Mahila Vidyalaya and through its steady progress brought into its ambit Nursery (1982), English Primary School (1982), English High School (2011),PU College (1982), Degree College (1983), Evening College Pu & Degree (1998) and Edify School (2010).

Since its inception VVN Degree College, affiliated to Bangalore University has created an indelible mark for upholding Indian culture and imparting quality education with techno savvy corporate training programmes to enable the students to be confident, responsible citizens with positive thinking and right orientation of mind to face life with all its opportunities and challenges.

“National Leg Cricket” Match Karnataka st

v “Late Dhanalakshmi and Late N.R .Chandran Memoria l In ter C o l l e g i a t e G i r l s T h r o w B a l l Tournament” was organized on 15/02/17. 10 teams from various colleges participated in it. BMS College won the match and Soundarya College were runners. Mr. Nithin Kumar, Inter National Throw ball player, was the chief guest, presided over by Dr.K.Shesha Murthy. v A candidate who has passed the Second Year Pre-University Examination

in Karnataka State or its equivalent is eligible for admission to

B.Com First Year Course.

v A student seeking admission to the college should obtain an application

form and the prospectus by paying Rs. 100/-

v The duly filled application should be submitted to the college office

either in person or by post on or before the specified date.

v Documents to be enclosed with the application form are:

a) P.U. Marks Card Original.

b) S.S.L.C. Marks Card (Xerox Copy).

c) T.C. from the college last attended (if issued by the College)

d) Conduct Certificate from the institution last attended

e) Migration and eligibility certificate in case of students from outside

the State and University.

f) Caste and income certificate must be produced by the students

belonging to SC/ST/OBC/CAT-I to apply for scholarships.

g) Three passport size colour photograph and one stamp size colour

v All the admissions are subject to the approval by the Bangalore

University.

v A copy of the fee receipt should be preserved by the student for future

reference.

v FEE PAID AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION IS NOT REFUNDABLE, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

v Every student will be issued an Identity Card with the student's

photograph duly attested by the Principal.

v The student should compulsorily wear the Identity Card while on the

campus and should show the ID card to the security at the time of entry

into the College.

v If the card is lost, the Office should be informed immediately and a

Duplicate Card could be obtained on paying due charges.

v The ID Card is non-transferable.

v The college offers B.Com course of the Bangalore University. The duration of the course is 3 years consisting of six semesters.

Assignments, Tests And Examinations

Tests and Exams are conducted periodically to assess student's academic

progress. Students are encouraged to participate in seminars at the college

and inter college levels. Students are also trained in preparing assignments

and project works. College also organizes industrial visits and educational

trips to equip students with practical knowledge.

v Importance is given to discipline and character building, as they

constitute very soul of education.

v Students are required to be punctual and regular in attending classes

and in submitting assignments given by teachers.

v A student is required to have a minimum attendance of 75% failing

which the student is not permitted to take up the examination.

v The loss or damage of any library book issued to the student must be

replaced by the same edition.

v Students are expected to handle the college property with care and keep

the surroundings clean and tidy.

v Mobile phones are strictly prohibited inside the college campus. Mobile

phones are confiscated if students are found using them.

v Rules are added or modified at the discretion of the Principal.

v Disciplinary action would be taken against the student violating the

rules.
