JOHN 17:6-11 (NIV)

“‘I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.’”

CALL TO WORSHIP L: We come together this day. P: Open our ears, O Lord. L: We come together this day. P: Open our minds, O Lord L: We come together this day P: Open our hearts, O Lord.

HYMN “Love Divine, All Loves Excelling” No. 648 (Verses 1, 2, & 4)

PRAYER OF THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY (In Unison)

Lord Jesus, we come together this day to worship and honor you in prayer. What a privilege it is to know that you, in return, listen to us and guide us. Humble us to realize the power of prayer and the ways in which it knits us together. Be with each of us this day that we might be drawn to you and moved to pray more for one another.

L: Let us now pray together the prayer that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ taught us:

P: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

MISSION SPOTLIGHT

Did you know? "The amazing truth is—even though the national average cost of an emergency room visit is $1,349—Mission of Mercy can see 15 patients for that amount!" Mission of Mercy is one of the organizations supported by our church through the missions committee. For more information or to volunteer (doctors and nurses are always needed), email [email protected] or call the church office (623) 935-3411.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR WELCOME BOOTH

We are in need of volunteers at the Welcome Booth in the breezeway outside Souers Hall to help greet and welcome first time visitors and to say hello to all in the breezeway. No experience is necessary. Volunteers help at the booth from 8:30–9:10 a.m. and then again from 10:15–10:40 a.m. This is an excellent way to meet new people and make many acquaintances. It is a perfect volunteer opportunity for anyone. If you would like to help, please contact Nana Hamlin at [email protected] or call the church office at (623) 935-3411.
