2009 Season Dear Coaches, Players and Parents, Welcome to the 2009 Pride of the Diamond High School Fall League season.

As we begin our third season, we welcome (16) teams this year from the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas. Each year the league has continued to grow and improve. In 2007, the leagues inaugural season, the fall league saw (8) area team s compete in a regular season and playoff format. Last year, the league grew to (14) teams in which teams participated in a 14 game regular season and single elimination playoffs. This year the teams will again play a 14 game regular season, playing each team in their division twice, followed by a single elimination playoff format. The Pride of the Diamond fall league was established with the purpose to further the development of area high school players by providing a competitive atmosphere during the fall season. Each team consists of varsity level talent creating a competitive balance of competition for all of those involved. Pride of the Diamond also offers a College Showcase Day in which area colleges are invited to evaluate select players from the fall league. Additionally, an All-Star game is provided for the league and each team within the league is represented by atleast one player. Pride of the Diamond is very proud of the success of the fall league and we thank all of those involved for their efforts. We wish everyone success and happiness throughout their season and look forward to many future seasons and continued growth.

League Facts

Collegeville Park Christman Field The 2009 Pride of the Diamond Fall League will be played under PIAA Rules with the following amendments:

1) Free substitution will be allowed during the REGULAR SEASON. PLAYOFFS will be played using PIAA substitution Rules.

2) The use of an Extra Hitter will be allowed during all Regular Season Games.

3) Pitchers and Catchers are Allowed Courtesy Runners however it has to be a player not currently entered into the game

3) A Five Inning Ten-Run Rule will be left up to the discretion of the coaches.

4) If a double-header is played teams must alternate Home and Away for the two games

5) Any games that are suspended because of rain or darkness are to be picked up from the point they left off. However after 5 innings a game is official and any game suspended after that will be considered official. All games called after 5 innings in the middle of an inning will revert back to the end of the previous innings score and a winner will be declared based upon the score at that point.

6) If a game goes into extra innings rather than put a time limit on a game we will place a cap of 9 innings on a game, in order to alleviate pitching worries and to ensure we can complete a DH. If after 9 innings the game is still tied, the game will be considered complete and recorded in the standings as a tie

WELCOME TO XPLOSION SPORTS XPLOSION SPEAQS SPEED sessions will enhance the participant’s ability to gain athleticism. Our trainers will see that each athlete who attends gains the needed core strength to blow the competition away. XPLODE into the most important part of today’s athletes’ training through physical demanding drills. The drills are guaranteed to improve an athletes: stride length & rate, speed endurance, extension, and running form. ABOUT OUR TRAINER: CHRIS BLOUNT Chris is a seasoned athlete, coach and trainer in all areas of sports from football, to basketball and Track & Field. Chris brings 15+ years of experience as a Speed and Sports Development trainer and over 12 years of Personal Training to work with male and female youth in high school and college. Specialty Training Areas include: Coordination, form, Functional Development, Kinetic Flexibility, Reaction, Resistance & Over-speed Training and physioball training. His compassion for people and positive energy is contagious and genuine. But don't get it messed up...no whining or complaining allowed!!
