6 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
Preface
Hakeem Syed Mahmood Gailani is well-known for his studies
and researches into the scriptures of past ages with reference
to the prophecies contained in them about Islam, and the Holy
Panjatan (a.s.) i.e. the Infallible Five, namely the Prophet
Muhammad (s.a.w.a.), Ali (a.s.), Fatemah (a.s.), Hasan (a.s.)
and Husain (a.s.). The keen interest and spirit of research with
which he has conducted an intensive study of the ancient
scriptures not only those of Christianity or Judaism but also of
the Vedas of Hinduism and the literature relating to Buddhism
etc., and has gleaned, there from references and prophecies
about our Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and his infallible progeny
(a.s.) is really worthy of admiration, and his findings in the
matter do deserve perusal by all of us in order to appreciate
and admire the unique and sublime position of our Prophet
(s.a.) and the Holy Ahlul Bait (a.s.).
Sometime back the Peermahomed Ebrahim Trust had
published Syed Mahmood Gailani’s booklets ‘Elia’ and it was
very well-received by our readers so much so that it is now
intended to reprint it. In the meantime this research scholar
has brought out another booklet under the title ‘Fatooha’
containing the result of his research about the existence of
prophecies and references in the ancient scriptures such as the
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 7
Old and New Testaments, the various Evangels, the Psalms of
David, etc. about Surah-e-Fateha, the first Chapter of the Holy
Quran, supplemented with similar prophecies and references
about the Prophet (s.a.) and Ahlul Bait (a.s.), in addition to
those already confined in the aforementioned two booklets.
Besides ‘Elia’, the Trust had also published another booklet
purporting to comprise an unbiased collection of facts
gathered from the Vedas, Gita, Purans, Holy Bible and Holy
Quran to establish and support that Islam is the complete and
universal religion, that Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) is the True and
the last of all the Prophets of Allah and that Allah has deputed
twelve Imams for the continued guidance of the people after
Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.), the First Imam being Hazrat
Ali (a.s.). This booklet was an English rendering of an Urdu
treatise of Syed Zeerak Husain Naqvi who had, like Hakeem
Syed Mahmood Gailani, devoted considerable time and
eruditional ability on the work involving intensive study of the
ancient scriptures for cleaning from them matter relating to
prophecies about the Holy Prophet of Islam (s.a.w.a.) and the
Imams (a.s.). In the same strain another scholar of our times
has collected some further material about the excellence and
truth of Islam and its leaders in the ancient scriptures of
Christianity, Hinduism and Buddhism. This treatise also
represents a searching study of the old scriptures for picking
up what is said therein about Islam, and deserves attention in
order to strengthen our conviction that proclamation of
Prophet hood by the Holy Prophet Muhammad Mustafa
(s.a.w.a.) was profusely and clearly prophesied by the ancient
8 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
scriptures. In fact, many scholars of those scriptures were
actually awaiting the appearance of the prophet prophesied
therein.
Since all these booklets and treatises are, in a sense,
supplementary to each other, the Peermahomed Ebrahim
Trust has hereby presented them in a combined volume for the
facility of the readers who, it is hoped, would certainly find the
volume quite interesting and thought provoking. In any case it
would convince them of the truth of Islam and its supremacy
over other religions of the world in so far that the scriptures of
those religions themselves recognize Islam as the last religion
foretold to come through the last Prophet of Allah (s.a.)

Elia - The Centre of Deliverance for the people
of the world
By Hakeem Syed Mahmood Gailani,
Did Lord Krishna cry Ali! Ali! In the battle of Mahabharat?
And was that Ali who taught the Unity of God to Gautama
Buddha? Did Noah fix on his arch a plate with inscriptions of
the name of the ‘Holy Five’ for its safety? And did David and
Solomon pray God in the name of the ‘Holy Five’?
10 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
Elia - The Centre of Deliverance for the people
of the world
1. Hakeem Syed Sarfraz Husain, in his article entitled
‘Elia’ appellation of Ali (a.s.) ‘Moarif-e-Islam’, Ali and
Fatemah Number, December 1961, had explained some
of his researches, which are praise worthy. In the
present time, there is acute need of researches of such
type, as they strengthen the modern faith and belief.
2. The above article of the author does not require any
explanation or justification in its support. Many
Christian leaders, bishops, and missionaries have
regarded Elia as Ali or a great personality of the last
time of this world. Therefore, more than half a century
has elapsed since a well known Bishop Rev. J.B.
Gladone of St. Paul Church London, wrote in ‘A Note
Book on Old and New Testaments of Bibles’ as follows:
‘In the language of oldest and present Hebrew, the
word Allia or Aillee is not meanings of God or Alla,
but this word is showing that in a next and last time
of this world, any one will become nominated ‘Allia’
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 11
or ‘Aillee’.1
3. What more proof is required from a Christian
Missionary who plainly accepts that Allia or Aillee is
neither God, nor Allah, neither Elias nor John, nor
Jesus, but is that personality who will appear after Jesus,
etc. If Christian do not still accept the existence of Ali
and his great position, it is not the fault of the word
‘Aillee’ but it is due to the pollutions of mind.
4. Apart from above, if thoughtful researches and
investigations are made, it will not be long ago to
conclude that ‘Allia’ or ‘Aillee’ has been the centre of
hopes and deliverance for most of the great leader of the
world and religious intellectuals, on some occasions or
the other. And they all have been seeking help from Ali
(a.s.) in the face of difficulties.
5. For instance in the well known war between Pandava
and Kaurava, when Lord Krishna arrived at the battle
field of Krukshetra, he realized that the followers of
truth are only a handful as against the non believers
(wrong doers) who have filled in the earth like swarms
of locusts. Lord Krishna after delivering sermon to his
gallant followers takes a retreat and prostrates himself
before his real Master and prays as follows:
1 For detail please read ‘A Note Book on Old and New Testaments of
Bibles’, Vol. 1, pp. 427-28. (Published by William A. Hollard Press,
England 1908.)
12 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
O God, the Lord of the world! In thy name as Thou
art the creator of the Sky and the Earth. And in thy
name who is beloved of thy lover, suitor of thy suitor
for thy sake who is’ Ahli’ who will show his
adventure in the biggest temple of the world, near
the black stone, Listen to my prayer! Then destroy
the false devils, and grant victory to the followers of
truth, O Lord Aila! Aila! Aila!1
6. Every word of the above prayer of Lord Krishna is
significant and needs close scrutiny. It is so plainly and
widely put without any hesitation before the creator of
the sky and the earth and in the name who is the
beloved of the lover (Prophet Muhammad [s.a.w.a.])
and, suitor of thy suitor (Ali [a.s.]), At the end Lord
Krishna also utter his name (Aila).
7. Ahli is an ancient word of Sanskrit which is equivalent
to Ali or Aali in Arabic. Moreover Lord Krishna himself
has explained this name further that he (Ali) will show
his adventure in the biggest temple of the world (Kaaba)
near the black stone (Hajar-e-Aswad). At the end Lord
Krishna has repeated thrice Aila! Aila! Aila!
8. Now the question is as to who this Aila is. Its meaning
may be learnt not from the author but through the
words of a Vidyarthi Pandit:

Pandit Ramdhan, Page 72, Published by Saagan Pustakalaya, Delhi

ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 13
Among the ancient languages ‘Sanskrit’ is one which
is claimed to be the most ancient language. It has in
some dialect is the name ‘Aila’ which means a person
of high honours and position. And Ahal, Ahli or Aali
are the distorted form of this name. In the ancient
Vedas1, many such words are found, which appear
to be either a distorted form of Arabic or have been
adopted in Arabic from the Sanskrit language.2
9. From the above explanation of the word ‘Aila’ it is
proved that Lord Krishna used the word ‘Ahli’ or Aila in
his prayer for seeking help from Ali (a.s.) and that is
why he repeated and uttered this holy name. If it is not
so, then let the intellectuals who know Sanskrit well,
come forward with an alternate meaning of the word
Ahli or Aila. And let them tell as to where is the black
stone of the biggest temple of the world. And which
1 In the present editions of these Holy books, considerable amount of
modifications have been made by vested interests. Facts have been
distorted and at places even the entire passages have either been
modified or removed completely. Wherever there are mentions of the
Prophet Mohammed, Ali, Fatemah, Hasan and Husain (a.s.) the
complete pages have been cropped off. The above passage in original
Israel (Ibrani) language is still safe and is under the custody of the
Bishop of Damascus. Mufti of Egypt claims that he has seen these
original passages. If it is brought to the notice of the entire world, it
may shake the foundation of the Christian religion (vide Magazine Al-
Haram, Qahera, Zilqad 1276 Hijri). 2 Vide Supra the book ‘Nagar Sagar’ by Pundit Krishna Gopal,
Published by Harain Book Depot, Agra 1917, page 211, 2nd Edition.
14 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
‘Ahli’ or ‘Aila’ has shown adventure there.
10. Vide in force a few lines from the book ‘Zabur’ of David,
which is originally in ancient Israel (Ibrani) language.
It is our duty to revert him whose name is Aillee. It is
through his obedience, the path of the world and
heavens are straightened. This honourable
personality is also called as Hadar (Haider) is
helper of the helpless, is like a lion, very potent, and
is to be born in Kaaba. To seek his help and to
remain in his servitude a slave is the duty of every
individual. They who possess ears, may listen, they
who possess ears, may understand, and they who
possess heart may think. That the time near if
passed shall never return. However, it is he on
whom my soul and body depend.
11. In the above lines, David has not used any gestures or
confusing words, but has plainly declared that Ali who
will also be called ‘Haider’ is the key to the worldly
success, and a source of deliverance. To remain in his
servitude is to accomplish every work. He is a tiger
(Asadullah-al-Ghalib), very potent (Alalqai, Yadullah,
Quvatullah). And he is helper of my body and soul that
means be extends a helping hand in the face of all
difficulties. David has gone even to this extent that
whoever passes time without remaining in servitude of
Ali (a.s.) will repent in both the worlds.
Vide infra a few verses from the ‘Song of Solomon’ which is
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 15
originally in ancient Israel (Ibrani)1 language.
My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among
ten thousand. His head is as the most five diamond,
his locks are bushy, and black as a raven. His eyes
are as the eyes of dones by the rivers of waters,
washed with milk and filly set. His checks are as a
bed of spices, as sweet flowers his lips like laities,
dropping sweet smelling myrrh. His hands are as
gold rings set with the beryl. His belly is as bright
ivory over laid with sapphires. His legs are as
pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold, his
countenance is a Lebaren excellent as the cedar, his
face is bright as the moon of 14th night; his mouth is
most sweet; he is altogether lovely. This is my
beloved, and this is my friend Muhammad, O
daughters of Jerusalem!
Explanation:
His head is as the most fine gold, there the ‘head’ is symbolic of
Ali (a.s.), for the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) himself has
1 In the Bible of today the above verses have been distorted
considerably. The words ‘My friends name is Muhammad’ have
completely been removed by the enemies of Islam. But in the Bible
prior to 18th Century it is found in the original form. Therefore it
appears that the followers of Roman Catholic and Protestant have
carried out the modification in the Bibles Published after the 18th
Century entitled Old Testament and New Testament according to
their own sweet with and making additions with suited those most.
16 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
said that ‘Ali is as the head of my body’. Therefore Solomon
has symbolized Ali as the ‘head’ of his beloved. Prophet
Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) says ‘Ana noor-0-Ali noor’ which means
‘I am light and so is Ali,’ are of the same light. Therefore Ali
(a.s.) is both ‘head’ and light of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.)
another point, that ‘his head is as the most fine diamond’
reveals that Ali (a.s.) has been compared with diamond which
possesses five sides in natural condition. And when diamond is
kept under the sun or near a candle, all sides reflect five rays.
Therefore Solomon by comparing Ali (a.s.) with diamond, has
proved that his beloved belongs to ‘Panjatan’ the ‘Holy Five’.
12. ‘His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of
waters, washed with milk, and fitly set,’ here the two
eyes signify Hasan and Husain (a.s.) Prophet
Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) himself has said ‘Al-Hasan-wal-
Husain Aayaani’ which means ‘Hasan and Husain are
my both eyes.’ Prophet has further said ‘Al-Hasan wal
Husain Qurrata Aayaani’ which means ‘Hasan and
Husain are the coolness of my eyes’.
‘To wash with milk’ is a phrase which signifies ‘absolute
purity.’ An Arabic poet named Asadi in praise of Allah and His
throne writes as follows:
Wal Arsha maghsulata min labnal mutahar,
Wa bilmaassafaa fala bemisle tahkhkur.
Meaning: His Great Throne is washed with pure milk, and
clean water, and no one can be proud of that save Allah.
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 17
A Hunaif poet named Asar Tehrani of Iran, in the praise of
Hasan (a.s.) and Husain (a.s.) writes as follows:
Aan do chashmane nabi Shabbir-o-Shabbar ba Sofa,
An do Chashman shusta dar charkhe barin Oz
Sheer-o-Aab, An do Chashmane nabi noore nigahe
Mustafa, Madare Aan Saiyada-o-Walide Aan
Butarab.
Meaning: Holy and clean soul of the body, Hasan (a.s.) and
Husain (a.s.), are the two eyes of the Prophet, which have been
washed in the sky with milk and water. And these two eyes are
the light of the eyes of Prophet Mohammed Mustafa (s.a.w.a.).
Whose mother is Pious Saiyada (Fatemah [a.s.]) and father is
Butarab (Ali [a.s.]).
It is therefore, proved beyond doubt that Solomon while
informing about his beloved Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.),
has also given information relating to Hasan (a.s.) and Husain
(a.s.).
15. Apart from above the comparison of the two eyes
(Hasan & Husain) of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.)
with two doves, from the religious and spiritual angles is
a great comparison and is one of its kinds in the world.
Dove is supposed to be the most pious of the birds. It
has also been used as a source of communication for
delivering messages. It is a symbol of Prophets. In the
present world it signifies peace. In Russia the dove is
slightly modified and is presented as the ‘pigeon of
peace.’ But in Europe and America, wherever a person
18 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
goes, he will notice dove as a symbol of peace on the
heads of the ‘Messenger of Peace’. Thus to compare
Hasan and Husain (a.s.) with two doves testifies the
point that these two persons will be the preserver of the
last message of God (Quran), and through them, the
people of the world will be enlightened with the
teachings of Quran. Secondly these two lights of the eyes
of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) will establish peace in the
hostile world. The Islamic history stands in witness that
Imam Hasan (a.s.) when given poison, with tremendous
amount of will power and self restraint, delivered an
eternal message of peace against hostility and miseries.
Husain (a.s.) give a unique demonstration of
forbearance and serenity to the world through the
tragedy of Karbala which is well known in the world.
And that is why Solomon in his songs has praised
Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) along with ‘Aale Muhammad’.
16. During the First World War of 1916, which was causing
havoc to the people of the world, a few miles away from
Baitul Muqaddas some units of army were passing
through a small village named ‘Untara’. They saw a
peculiar spark coming from a hillock near the village.
One of the units which was very close to the hillock
stopped to see the spark. A few soldiers went near to
examine the spark. They saw that this wonderful light
was coming through the cracks of an old mound of soil
and stone. They started digging the place. At the depth
of four yards, they found a silver plate which was
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 19
throwing the light. No sooner they took out the silver
plate which was ¾th Yard long and ½ yard wide, the
light stopped. They were happy to get the plate but were
scared by the sudden disappearance of the light. At last
they took this plate to their higher Officer who was an
English man named Major A.N. Grandel. He was
wonder stuck when he saw the plate with the help of a
torch. Its border was decorated by costly jewels. And in
the centre were golden words which appeared to be of
some strange ancient language. The major did not
recognize the letters but he certainly understood its
importance that it was not an ordinary thing. He
understood that the plate possessed an honour and
secret of permanent importance. With the help of Major
Grandel, the plate after passing through many hands
reached to the Officer I/C British Army, Lieut. D.O.
Gladstone, who gave it to the British experts on Fossils.
17. After the end of the world War 1918, a Committee
consisting of Experts of Ancient languages from Britain,
America, France and other countries, were appointed to
investigate into the significance of this plate.
18. At last after several months of hard labour, the mystery
was uncovered. And the plate was identified as the
‘Silver plate of Solomon’. And the words which were
engraved on it were that of ancient Israel (Ibrani)
language which were used in the ‘Song of Solomon’.
19. The words along with their meaning are given on the
20 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT

Note:
As in other languages, in Ibrani too there have been continual
changes during different periods. The alphabet found on the
silver plate and used during the period of Solomon are as
follows.
Note:
Alphabets in Ibrani language are written from left to right.
20. After interpretation of language of the silver plate and
after reading, Ahmed (s.a.w.a.), Ali (a.s.), Batul (s.a.),
22 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
Hasan (a.s.) and Husain (a.s.), the members of the
Committee were wonder-struck. They looked at one
another, and at last decided to preserve this plate in the
Imperial Museum of Britain. No sooner the matter
reached to the ears of Lord Bishop of England, a
confidential order prohibiting the exhibit of the silver
plate to general public, was issued during the year 1923
An essence of the order is given below:
If the plate is kept in a Museum or at any place
where there is flow of general public, it may
disintegrate the foundation of Christianity and the
Christianity may vanish from the earth for ever. It is
therefore advisable to keep the plate in the Secret
Church Room, where except few people; it may not
be seen by others.
And till today the plate is preserved in the secret Room of the
Church of England. For detail one may refer the following: –

21. Whether ice is pounded or boiled, one can have nothing
24 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
but water out of it. Truth can not be hidden behind iron
curtains. Despite tremendous efforts of Expert and
Bishops to conceal the secret of this Silver Plate of
Solomon the news has spread all around the world
because there is no power which can obstruct the kindly
lights of Muhammad and Ali. There is no power which
can put off the lights thrown by the ‘Holy Five’. For
instance, an essence of the talk of the town regarding
the Silver Plate when it was found is recorded as follows:
Thomas: William! Did you hear the news of that Silver plate?
William: Yes, I did hear this wonderful news.
Thomas: Then what have you decided?
William: It is an intricate problem Thomas. Our religious
leaders may think anything but I...
Thomas: Yes, Yes go ahead, why did you stop? Every person
has freedom of his conscience, and then it is not
any hostile political issue that one may fear press
publicity or imprisonment. Carry on without
hesitation.
William: Brother Thomas, my conscience says that Islam is
the true religion and at last will prevail. Thomas
think over all the past Prophets thousands years
back have not only predicted the coining of the last
Prophet Muhammad but have prayed him and
have sought his help. If you do not mind I will tell
you the truth. In our Bible there are countless
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 25
predictions which reveal that Muhammad is the
last Prophet and Ali is his Deputy, and the progeny
born of him will occupy & wonderful honoured
position.
Thomas: Very good, really you are right. If we observe the
things with unbiased mind, all these things can be
known from Psalms, Old Testament and Evangel.
And then look at the Islamic History where all the
heroic deeds of Ali and Husain are recorded. By
reading them it appears they had spiritual powers,
which were beyond the power of ordinary man.
William: I am telling you the very same thing. Historical
event cannot be wrong. If the people do not believe,
let them do so. God Himself is praising them. I
have been hearing since a long time that in the
Quran, quite a good deal has been written about
Prophet Muhammad, and the greatness of Ahlul
Bait (members of the house of the Prophet). We
should think now which path to choose, whether
to beat drums of Christianity or to go out in other
field in search of truth.
Thomas: Brother William believe it or not, I have become
Muslim now. From now onward treat me as
invaluable slave of the Holy Five of Islam, whose
names are written on that Silver plate.
William: Then why delay? Let us go to some Islamic country
and recite ‘Kalemah’.
26 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
Thomas: Is that so? Really!
William: Yes! Believe me I have become Muslim prior to
you. But there is no need for us to go to any
Islamic country. A Mujtahid of Iran has come to
the New Castle. Let us go and embrace Islam on
his hand.
22. Both these fortunate went to New Castle, and embraced

Thomas name was changed to Fazale Husain and
William’s to that of Karam-e-Husain. Two years after
this incidence, both of them during the year 1925 went
to Kaaba and Karbala on pilgrimages.1
23. The Stories of Psalms of David, and Songs of Solomon
have become old. And the story of the Silver plate has
also become as old as forty-five years. Let us leave these
things and come to a latest investigation.
24. During the month of July 1951, a team of Russian
Experts were surveying the Valley of Kaat. Perhaps they
were busy in finding out a new name. They noticed a
few pieces of rotten woods at a place. The group Officer
started digging the place. To his surprise he found heaps
of woods pressed there under the earth. Experts by
observing a few layers speculated that these woods are
extraordinary and possess obscure mystery. They

Islam, Delhi, Feb. 1927
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 27
excavated the place with deep interest. They found quite
a good amount of wood and many other things. They
also found a long rectangular wooden plate. The experts
were surprised to observe that this particular plate
admeasuring 14”x10” was in far better condition among
other woods which were on the verge of decomposition,
due to aging. After investigation at the end of 1952,
experts came to the conclusion that this particular plate
belonged to the Noah Arch which had rested on the
peak of Mount Caff (Judy.) And the plate, on which a
few words of some ancient language were inscribed, was
fixed on the Arch.
25. Before we proceed to read and understand meaning of
the words written on this plate, let us go back to the
period of Noah.
26. An old gentleman, about eight or nine hundred years of
age, is building an Arch at a common place. He has been
inviting people since centuries to join him. He has been
saying, ‘People! I have come to frighten you and to put
fear in your hearts, of the last Day of Judgment, worship
God, and by fearing Him become abstainer.’ But the
people with hearts of stone did not pay any heed to
messages of God. Instead they made fun of him and
tried to put him in trouble At last the Old gentleman
(Noah) prayed to God for His curse, on the people. He
prayed, ‘O God! Produce such a storm and flood, that
not a single among the non believer is saved.
28 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
27. Yes! He is that Noah, who is busy in making his Arch
rapidly. He sometimes puts plates on it or fixes nails. He
often weeps and wipes off his tears and also mutters
something. Let us hear what he is muttering about.
28. O God! Save me by the compassion 0 God! Grant me
deliverance and serenity O God! Open the door of your
knowledge for me, through the last Prophet through the
Five Vicegerent (Imam) whose good name is Ellia,
through the Leader of both the worlds, through both the
Martyrs, through that infallible child whose neck will be
shot with arrow, through that pious woman who will
have no coverage on her head and through all the
infallible and pious personalities.
29. He is praying with utmost sorrows. He reads and weeps
and reads yes, he is building an Arch. People pass by
him. They see making Arch. They taunt and make fun of
him.
30. ‘His Look at this old guy... Perhaps due to old age he has
lost his senses. He is crying like a beggar and is saying,
‘People! Repent and stop worshipping idols or else
storm is to come and you will be drowned in the flood’.
Oh, how false it is twelve years have passed and
there have not been noticed any clouds in the sky.
The earth has not received a single drop of rain and
this man says that flood is to come, storm is to come
and the whole world will be destroyed. It is a white
lie.
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 29
31. But Noah is absorbed in his work. He is busy in his
prayers. He never looks at any one.
32. There is a baking furnace in a house. Women are
preparing breads. They are baking and at the same time
are gossiping about Noah.
O sister! What has happened to the brain of this old
man? He is asking people not to worship idols, and
is beating drums of worshipping only one God, or
else they will be drowned. Do you think we should
leave our lords because he says so? Should we break
our Wud and Wayuq1?
33. These daughters of Satan, made fun of Noah and
laughed at him. No sooner the echo of their laugh had
ended, the baking furnace exploded and a big stream of
water started flowing, for the truth was aroused. The
flood was covering the entire world.
The entire creation was drowning – And – Noah
was uttering, ‘Yaa Rabbi wa Rabbus Samaawaate
wal arze. Yaa Muhammad Sayyedul Kawnain wa
Saqalain, Yaa Elli Imamuddadin’ and was entering
in his Arch along with followers.
34. The Arch was floating, and large waves of water were
rising and witnessing the destruction of the world and
its sinners. It reminded that of Able Bait (members of
the house of Prophet Muhammad) God, the doer of
1 Names of ancient idols
30 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
absolute justice had promised His Prophet Noah that
He will save his followers. At a place one human head
peeped out of water and cried, O Father! Save me. The
fatherly affection was aroused. Noah extended his hand
to catch the shoulder of his son. But the command from
God stopped his hand, saving:
O Noah! Beware and do not hold him. He is not
among your followers. The fool has been talking
against you throughout his life. He has been
creating enmity with your lovers and now he is
saying, ‘Save me.’ Behold, thy followers are they and
only they who are with you in your Arch. They have
been following you and serving you since the
beginning.
35. Those who are not aware of the glory of ‘Able Bait’
(members of the house of Prophet Muhammad) say that
there are many other personalities who were closely
related to prophet, they should also be included in ‘Ahle
Bait.’ They fail to understand that one of the conditions
of becoming ‘Zilqurbah’ of the prophet was also ‘Yathar
Kum Tatheera’ which has been fulfilled and whosoever,
was to be included in ‘Ahle Bait’ has been included at
that time. As such there is no scope for including other
personalities in ‘Ahle Bait.’ However, Prophet
Muhammad (s.aw.a.) has said,
My Ahle Bait is similar to the Arch of Noah, whoever
entered in it and obeyed the truth, got deliverance.
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 31
36. The Noah Arch, after witnessing the destruction of the
world and its sinners, reached to the destination and the
Prophet of God along with his followers got down from
the arch. He prayed and muttered as follows:
O God! I have countless praise for Thee. O Sustainer!
I have countless gratefulness for Thee. Thou hast
saved me from destruction. And I am grateful to Thy
Prophet ‘Ahmad’ and that ‘Ellia’ who extended help,
and that Ellia, who will be born in Thy House and
thanks to the daughter of Thy Prophet, and I am
thankful to her both sons who have helped me.
37. Not only hundred but thousand of years have elapsed
since this event occurred. No ore remembers where the
Noah Arch had rested. No one remembers where Caff
and Judy are. But that Omnipotent has informed the
world that the great names of ‘Muhammad wa Aal-e-
Muhammad’ will always be glorified, and in one way or
other will come on the lips of the people. And that
Creator of all the creation, created such circumstances
that once again the names of the ‘Holy Five’ with their
glories have come up. And they came up in the very
country which did not believe in the existence of God.
38. Yes, we were talking about the recent investigation in
Russia. After it was proved that the woods found in the
excavation are that of the Noah Arch, the curiosity as to
what is written on the wooden plate was aroused. A
board of experts was appointed by the Russian
32 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
Government under its Research Department to
investigate the language of the wooden plate. The Board
started its work from the 27th February 1953. Following
were the members of this board:
1. Prof. Solomon, Moscow University.
2. Prof. Ifa Han Kheeno, Lu Lu Han College, China.
3. Mr. Mishaou Lu Farug, Officer I/C fossils.
4. Mr. Taumol Goru, Teacher, Cafezud College.
5. Prof. De Pakan, Lenin Institute.
6. Mr. M. Ahmad Colad, Zitcomen Research Association.
7. Major Cottor, Stalin College.
39. So these seven experts after eight months of researches
came to the conclusion that this plate was of the woods
used in making the Noah Arch and that the Prophet
Noah had put this plate on his Arch for the safety of the
Arch and for receiving favour of God.
40. In the centre of the plate, there is a drawing of palm
shape on which some words of ancient Saamaani
language was written.
The wooden plate is as below:
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 33
41. Mr. N.F. Max, Expert, Ancient Languages. Britain
(Manchester), has translated the words written on the
wooden plate, in English as follows:

43. People were surprised to learn these writing. They were
surprised as to how this particular plate after centuries
of exposition to nature did not decompose and
maintained its form. The plate is still preserved at the

44. The name ‘Mahatma Buddha’ needs no introduction. He
was the son of a King. There are many prevalent stories
found in different books of History regarding his early
life and renunciation. The most prevalent is as follows.
45. Astrologers predicted to Mahatma Buddha’s father, that
the son, who was to be born to him, would prefer to live
in Forest. He would renounce the throne and the
worldly things. It would be better if be confined him to
palace till he grew up. He should also arrange for his
education inside the palace.
46. Therefore when Buddha was born, he was kept confined
to palace under the guidance of a learned teacher.
47. When grew up he was married. But utmost care was
taken to insure that he did not see the outside world. At
last one day with permission of his father, he came out
of the palace along his teacher. The first thing he saw
was an old man walking with the help of a stick. Buddha
enquired from his teacher as to who this man was and
why he was in that condition.
The teacher replied,
Every individual from childhood, has to grow up,
and has to become old. He at last becomes week and
is compelled to walk with the help of a slick,
An ailing man was crying in pain.
Buddha enquired from his teacher and the reply was
that every individual has to fall sick during the course of
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 37
his life. When they went further, they noticed a funeral
party crying and weeping. When Buddha enquired of
that, he was told that every individual after completing
his life has to die. This particular man had died and they
were going to burry or burn him.
48. Therefore after seeing these few pathetic scenes,
Buddha renounced the world and went to Forest in
search of truth and meditation.
49. But the above event appears to be fabricated and
illogical if viewed in the light of truth. Buddha was an
obedient son of his father. Even if it is accepted that his
wise father put him under house arrest merely on the
predictions of astrologers, it is illogical that during the
period of twenty years of his education, Buddha did not
hear or read a single time regarding old age, sickness
and death.
50. If efforts are made to understand the truth, the matter is
quite obvious Mr. L.K. Bhatnagar M.A.I.A.S. in his book,
‘Badhya Chamatkar’ published by Onkav Pustakalaya,
Kanpur, 1927, writes as follows:
Non violence, renunciation, Vedanta, enlightment of
conscience, metaphysics, and other emotional
stories of Shri Mahatma Gautama Buddha Maharaj,
which are the foundation of his preaching’s and are
found in his religious books are due to only this.
That one day Mahatmaji while sleeping in his palace
got started in his sleep with tears in his eyes. He
38 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
seemed to be in agony and pain. His minister who
was sleeping near him also got up when he heard his
cry. With great affection he patted his back and
asked, ‘Rajkumarji! What has happened to you! Did
you see any dangerous dream? Do you fear
anything?’ Mahatmaji replied in a cool voice,
‘Nothing honourable minister! I have dreamt. But it
is not a dream, it is something else. Yes, it is
something else.’ After repeated requests of the
minister, he told him, ‘Mantriji! You know that I
read religious books with great interest. And
investigate minutely what there is in religion. You
also know that I have great desired for worship of
God. And to see the adventure of God, I wander in
forests. And do not ask anything of today. Some
great soul has blessed me that my meditation has
been accepted. Go and recite my name. You will
achieve what you want. My name is Allia. If you
desire to meet me, then my house is near the cracked
wall of the holy place. You will find me there as a
child. But that time is far off.’
51. The above dream of Gautama Buddha is self
explanatory. How clearly the Divine Master of Gautama
Buddha has specified His name and the place of birth.
Allia or Ali is synonym of Ellia or Aille in Ibrani (Israel)
language. Ali was born in Kaaba (the house of Allah).
52. The above dream of Gautama Buddha is incomplete,
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 39
Buddhaji reveals the further part of his dream to his
minister as follows,
‘Minister,’ after saying this, he took out his sword
and spoke in a thundering voice, ‘Behold! I am a
tiger; God has sent me as a tiger. Go and save the
world from sins and infidelity. Cure the disease of
heart. Purify the heart. Your fate will be formed. My
Lord is to come. Obey him and obey Lord of my
Lord.’
‘Behold, I send you for the purification of the world
as my slave and disciple. Do not be deceived. Go and
recite my name when in distress. I shall reach to
you.’
The remaining part of the dream of Gautama Buddha also
needs consideration. Here Allia, Aillee or Ali is showing his
Zulfiqar (Sword). And then he reveals His appellation as tiger
which is equivalent to ‘Asadullah al-Ghalib’ or ‘Sher-e-Khuda’
(Tiger of God). Save Ali no one deserves to be called as the
tiger of God.
My lord is to come, obey him and obey lord of my
lord,
this sentence indicates the coining of the last Prophet
Muhammad (s.a.w.a.).
54. One more interesting point is that Mahatma Gautama
Buddha is also known as ‘Saki Muni.’’ ‘Saki’ is
equivalent of ‘Saqi’ and Ali is known as ‘Saaqi-e-Kausar’.
40 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
Therefore Saki Muni means the guide appointed by
‘Saqi-e-Kausar’.
55. Buddha had great opposition in his time. He was subject
to grief and sorrows. He had renounced the world.
When in distress Buddha had prayed as follows:
O beloved of your beloveds, O Aillia, O dominant of
all! Come and show your adventure. Extend your
help to me. O tiger of God, the foxes of the world are
devouring me. By that whose thou art hand and
shoulder. By that whose strength is within Thee.
Help me. Thou hast promise that Thou will help in
difficulties. Now is the time to help. Come soon or
else I will be ruined. Your name is the name of Lord.
Come! Because seeing you is equal to thousand
prayers. Thou art face of God. My beloved, thou art
everything and I am nothing without thee. Thou
seeth everything. All events are before thee. Thou
knoweth my trouble. Thou canth remove them, Om
Allia! Om Allia!
56. The above prayer of Buddha does not need explanation.
The above prayer is found in the journal ‘Buddha Giyan’
by Ram Narain Banavasi, 1931, page 57.
57. Apart from the above dream, Gautama Buddha, at the
time of his death has also predicted to his followers
about the coming of Alia or Ali and the Holy Five. He
also indicated the tragedy of Karbala.

Appendix No. I
Mention of Ahlul Bait in the Bible
1. Where ever there is a mention of the advent and virtues
of the Holy Prophet of Islam (s.a.w.a.) in the Holy Books
of other religions of the world there is also a mention of
the good qualities of his progeny. For example, in the
holy Bible the description of Ahlul Bait begins with the
mention of virtues of Hazrat Ali (a.s.). How meaningful
far reaching are the words of Jesus Christ in the Holy
Bible when he says:
I say unto you the truth that None who doeth not
accept the kingdom of God like (the) child shall enter
it.1
2. If one ponders a little it would be clear to him as to who
was the child who despite his tender age accepted the
kingdom of God and agreed to the letter all what he was
told about the Greatness of Allah and His Unity without
any argument and also accepted the prophethood of the
Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) when none was ready to accept
it but every body denied it. Undoubtedly that child was
1 Mirqas, 10 : 15
42 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
Hazrat Ali Ibn-e-Abi Talib (a.s.) who did all this without
the fear of any contradiction from any quarter and
surprised the assembly of the people who had collected
to hear the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.).
3. That Jesus Christ called Hazrat Ali (a.s.) a child is a
clear indication of the fact that he believed in his
infallibility and proclaimed by the word, ‘child that the
one who would stand as a witness to the prophet hood
of his elder brother (cousin) would be as innocent as an
infant.’
4. The generality of Muslims by referring to the tradition
of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) to the effect that his
companions were all like the stars have put them in a
line without any exception i.e. they have included the
members of his holy household among them and have
thereby tried to prove that their status in religion is at
par with any other companion. Although this tradition
has not been accepted as an authentic one and almost
all the great scholars of religion have doubted its
authenticity, yet if it is at all accepted as authentic for
arguments sake the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.)’s saying that
they resembled the stars is also very meaningful; all the
stars are not equal in glare, some of them are shooting,
some others fade away soon, but there are only some
which stick to their original position to the last i.e. the
day break. And it is not only we who analyze the stars as
such but Jesus Christ himself has offered such an
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 43
analysis. Says he,
Some of the bodies are heavenly; some of them
belong to the earth. The rank and dignity of the
heavenly bodies is different from that of the earthly
bodies. Even the rank and dignity of the heavenly
bodies varies from bodies to bodies. The dignity of
sun is different from that of the moon and so on and
so forth.1
5. By the above words Hazrat Eisa (a.s.) has distinguished
the sun i.e. the Holy Prophet of Islam (s.a.w.a.) from his
vicegerent Hazrat Ali (a.s.) whom he has symbolized as
moon. Similarly he has indirectly praised the Ahlul Bait
by calling them unbreakable stars. In these words of
Hazrat Eisa (a.s.) there is also a pointer that as the stars
are not equal to one another in their glow and structure
they are not also equal in their stature, rank and dignity.
Therefore, to put them in one and the same line with
regard to their qualities would be quite wrong and
misleading. Apart from any thing else, the very words
‘heavenly’ and ‘earthly’ preceding the words bodies in
the above Biblical quotation together with distinction of
their dignity are thought provoking in themselves.
6. In this very strain the following quotation from the Holy
Bible is also noteworthy: –
The first human being i.e. Adam became a living
1 Carantheune, 15 : 40-41
44 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
soul but the last one became the life bestowing soul,
but the first one was at first temporal and then
became spiritual; the first is from earth, but the last
is from heaven. As he was earthly; others also
belong to the earth and as he is heavenly some
others are also heavenly. As we have taken shape of
the earthly one, we shall take shape of that heavenly
also.1
7. In the above Biblical quotation the earthly creatures and
those created from Light, i.e. earthly human beings and
those belonging to the heaven as well as the off-springs
of both have been compared and it has been explained
in unequivocal terms that the earthly souls and the
noble and selected ones are not equal to each other in
creation, in status or any thing else.
8. The position of the sacred souls who are mentioned in
the above Biblical quotation is further clarified in the
following quotation also from the Holy Bible:
Blessed are those who are weak by heart, because
the kingdom of the heaven is theirs.
Blessed are those who are sad, because they shall get
consolation.
Blessed are those who are forbearing, because they
shall inherit the earth.
1 The first letter of Polis addressed to Carantheune, 16 : 45-49
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 45
Blessed are those who aspire for uprightness,
because they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are those who are kind-hearted, because
they shall get kindness and mercy.
Blessed are those who are pure-hearted because
they shall have a view of God.
Blessed are those who are peace makers, because
they shall be called the sons of God.
Blessed are those who were oppressed because of
their righteousness, for the kingdom of the heavens
is theirs.1
9. The above has detailed the qualities and virtues of Ahlul
Bait one by one without an iota of doubt and it is
nothing but the praise of the progeny of Hazrat Ali (a.s.).
If one goes through the Holy Quran minutely, one will
find the mention of the same qualities of Ahlul Bait (a.s.)
therein. Besides, it has been said in the Holy Quran that
these are the Ahlul Bait (a.s.) who are next to kin of the
Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and near and dear to him. Their
love is real Islam and to bear enmity for them is
infidelity. If the Muslims who recite the ‘Kalemah’ of the
Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) want the solidarity of their
religion; integrity of their faith and strength in their
belief, they should entertain in their heart of hearts the
love of the progeny of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.), pay
1 Mati, 5 : 3-10
46 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
the wages of prophethood and enter the chain of the
believers.
10. It was most probably in view of the above quotation
from Chapter 5 of the Bible compiled by ‘Mati’ that
Father Fastaun, a clergyman from Italy once wrote in
praise of the Holy Ahlul Bait (a.s.).
Appreciation of Ahlul Bait (a.s.) in Bhagwat Geeta
1. When Shri Krishnaji persuaded Raja Arjun to rise
against unrighteousness and gave him counsels in that
regard, he, interalia mentioned in a very highly
appreciative manner the virtues of Ahlul Bait (a.s.) and
also gave explanation thereof in detail. He enumerated
the following virtues of Ahlul Bait (a.s.): –
(i) They do not give any regard to their own valuation
where respect of religion is involved.
(ii) In spite of their greatness in every respect they are
never involved in self appreciation,
(iii) They do not create hardship for any body.
(iv) If anybody hurts them they never get infuriated but
forgive him instead.
(v) They actually are what they appear to be and are very
weak in their heart of hearts as well as forbearing.
(vi) They are pure, remain pure for ever and purify others.
(vii) They live in the world but their hearts are void of
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 47
worldly desires.
(viii) They always stick to the right path
(ix) They never allow their carnal desires to go out of
bounds.
(x) They are not proud of any thing.
(xi) The idea of death and the world hereafter is always
before their eyes.
(xii) They are not in love of worldly things.
(xiii) They do not always remain entangled in household
affairs.
(xiv) They are possessor of the love of and are engaged in (the)
service to the Messenger of Allah.
(xv) They do not feel (unduly) happy on securing any thing
pertaining to the world nor are they ever grieved if they
lose any thing pertaining thereto.
(xvi) They are always engaged in divine contemplation and
the knowledge of God.
(xvii) They are fond of solitude and are happy in such an
atmosphere where they could remain in consecutive
contemplatory mood.
(xviii) They raise their spiritual powers and make them strong.
(xix) They do not like to mix with crowds but remain
intoxicated with the cognizance of God
(xx) They always ponder on religion and Truth and dedicate
48 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
their lives for seeking truth and keeping guard on it.1
2. Similarly at another place Shri Krishnaji has
enumerated the virtues of Ahlul Bait (a.s.) as follows: –
(i) They are not afraid of any body except Allah.
(ii) They are always engaged in the purification of self.
(iii) They are not interested in worldly affairs.
(iv) They introduce the world to heavenly knowledge and
the cognizance of Allah.
(v) They are generous and bountiful.
(vi) They recite the word of Allah and make it known to
others and bring home the divine knowledge to them.
(vii) Their material self is under their control.
(viii) They always act on righteousness.
(ix) They do not get angry with any body nor do they utter
any bad word. They do not try to take vengeance for any
thing either.
(x) Endurance, composure, perseverance and forbearing
are their invaluable costumes.
(xi) They sacrifice everything to achieve their aims and
objects.
(xii) They do not do backbiting and hate to make complaints
against others.
1 Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta, Chapter 13
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 49
(xiii) They take pity on all the creatures of Allah.
(vi) They are beyond the approach of cruelty and oppression,
i.e. they are not possessed of such qualities of character.
(xv) They always come to the help of oppressed and helpless
people.
(xvi) They are never selfish.
(xvii) They take uttering of bitter words as sin and always do
sweet talking.
(xviii) They do not feel shy of doing any thing which is right.
(xix) Their sayings are all well calculated. Their actions are all
to the liking of others. They win the hearts of others by
whatever they do, because satisfaction of hearts is their
main principle.
(xx) They are naturally of towering personalities.
(xxi) They are not afraid of hardships or any ups and downs
in their lives.
(xxii) They are sacred physically and spiritually both.
(xxiii) They do not hate anybody.
(xxiv) Enmity is bad in their eyes. They only teach love.1
Vedas and Other Hindu Books and Ahlul Bait (a.s.)
It is clear from the above that in all the religious books of the
1 Bhagwat Geeta, Chapter 16
50 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
world there exist appreciation of the Ahlul Bait (a.s.) which is a
proof of the fact that without such appreciation of these great
personalities all such books and their teachings cannot be
called as complete. Even the Vedas about which the Hindus’
claim is that they existed, before coming of the sky and earth to
being or, for that matter, any thing which now exists therein or
in between contain the virtues of the Holy Prophet of Islam
(s.a.w.a.) and his progeny. None of the four Vedas i.e. Sam
Veda, Athur Veda, Rig Veda and Yajur Veda and the six
Shastras is void of the mention of the qualities of the Holy
Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and his offspring, but we do not want to go
in detail thereof here.
Renunciation Of Throne During Muharram
1. According to Hamlat-e-Haidery – an authentic treatise
on history in Persian Language – Fateh Ali Tipu Sultan
observed extreme abstinence and piety during the holy
months of Ramazan and Muharram. He never used to
sit on his throne from the first to thirteenth of
Moharram to commemorate the greatest martyr of
Islam – Hazrat Imam Husain (a.s.). And during these
thirteen days of mourning he used to keep aside all his
private and political engagements and devoted himself
to God’s worship. He also opened eating-houses for the
poor and needy up to thirteenth of Muharram.1

Faith on Ahlul Bait
Sultan Fateh Ali Tipu – the famous Muslim ruler of South
India – minted several coins during his reigning period. He
named these coins Haidery, Imami, Jafri, Kazmi and such
other Islamic names. These coins can be seen in several
museums even today. There were thousands of manuscripts in
his library. He expressed his devotions for the holy Panjetan by
getting the names of Allah, Muhammad, Ali, Fatima, Hasan,
Husain (Peace be on them) gold embossed on many of these
volumes. Again the names of four Caliphs of Islam are also
seen in gold-emboss on the covers of several volumes of his
Royal Library.1

woe, ‘I turn up and down in the morning due to the
boredom of post operative convalescence, and in the
evening cancer surges pain into my bones. I would have
died a long ago; but I am alive owing to a particular

Faith of a Kashmiry Pandit
1. There lived in Kashmir State a pandit Brahmin named
Jialal Sopoori. This Kashmiry Pandit showed a Muslim
like interest in the days of Ashura, and took active part
in Muharram congregations. He used to join Tazia
processions also.
2. This Pandit’s mother – a good Kashmiry woman – also
had devotional love for Hazrat Imam Husain (a.s.). She
had memorized several elegies of Anees and Dabeer and
recited them in the days of Muharram. She also used to
make a small Tazia at her own expenses.2
Maharaja’s Love For Imam Husain (a.s.)
1. Maharaja Hari Rao Sindhia of Gwalior was a devout
believer of his own religion and therefore he did not
condemn any other religion or considered it bad. It was
a special characteristic of this ruler of Gwalior that he
used to renounce enjoyment of pleasure during the first
ten days of Muharram; and like other Muslims made a

Tazia of his own every year, and spent thousands of
rupees. He always visited State Imambara and wept on
hearing the Marsias. On the tenth of every Muharram;
when the Tazias were being lifted, he attended the
Imambara and personally lifted the Tazias and walked
several steps.1
Permission Of Sacrifice In Hindu Religion2
1. Animal sacrifice is not only permitted but emphasized
in Hindu religion. In ancient days even the clergies of
Hindu religion as well as sages used to eat animal flesh.
Religious scriptures like Vedas, Bhagwat Gita, Manu-
Smriti, etc. contained many evidences about this. When
Vashista – a great Vedic Sage – came to Valmiki’s 3
house, the latter sacrificed an animal in hospitality and
prepared meat for feast. In Bhagwat Gita there are
verses about sacrifice; their meanings are given as
under: –
I am the consumer of sacrifice. I am owner of
everything. It means that Yagna (sacrificial fire)
itself is God. 0 God you are Yagna-sacrifice. You are
fire. You are Mantra (sacred hymn) you are
firewood. You are Darbha (a kind of grass). You are

vessel. You are Agni Hotra. You are Swadha, You
are Soma (a holy juice) you are ghee and you are the
animal of sacrifice also.
O God! We can’t know you, but we recognize you by
Yagna (sacrifice) the symbol of religion of the three
Vedas in which you exist. Brahma himself ordered
for Yagna (sacrifice) and it can be dedicated to him
only. The life of every creation depends on sacrifice
and sacrifice depends on every creation.
2. He who does not sacrifice remains debarred from this as
well as another world.
3. A horse-sacrifice dedicated to Narain Vishnu frees from
the sin of world-murder. O holy Vishnu! Brahma
ordered sacrifice in your reverence. Shiva spoiled it. O
Yagna faced Vishnu! Beautify the sacrifice of this lamb
and freshen it.
4. Yudhishthira once asked Bhishma as to whether
Dakshina (reward to Brahmin) should be paid or not?
Bhishma said that Dakshina must be paid at the time of
sacrifice. Dakshina is the approval of the glory of the
Vedas. If Dakshina is not paid sacrifice remains
imperfect.
5. In another hymn benefits of sacrifice are shown. When
Brahma created man, he also created sacrificial animal
and instructed thus, ‘Take this, the sacrificial animal
will fulfil your wishes. Sacrifice it and be prosperous.
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 55
Sacrifice and present it to gods and gods will bless you
and bestow you plenty.’
6. Sin never touches the Brahmin who sacrifices according
to Vedic direction. His rank does not decrease but
increases with sacrifice. And he gains paradise the
instant he decapitates animal for sacrifice.
7. According to Yajur Veda, the place where animals are
sacrificed should be called paradise.
8. All the animals, human beings, trees, leaves, etc. wish to
go to heaven but heaven can not be obtained without
sacrifice.
9. Manu is an authentic law book of Hindu Religion.
Pandit Nathu Ram Mahashankar (who later became
known as Paramhans Privrajak Acharya Swami Shri
Dakshina Murti Anand Saraswati after renouncing the
worldly life) and Shashtri Pranjivan Hariram Pandya
wrote translation and interpretation of Manu-Smriti
and Samvat 1962 (1906 AD). Its many Impressions were
published. I have its third impression and it was printed
in Subodhini Printing, 51, Bazargate Street, Bombay in
1924 AD, Several verses about sacrifice in Manu Smriti
are given hereunder from the said book.
10. One should never eat the following things before

malpoova and the meat on which Prokshana 1 is not
performed and food cooked for Navidhya (dedication to
God) and Havisha (sacrifice)
11. Fish can also be sacrificed. But what type of fish? The
answer can be found on page 266 (chapter 5 verse 16th).
12. Patheen, Rohita, Rajwa, Sinhtunda and fishes with
unbroken skin are worthy for Havya (sacrifice of fire)
and Kavya (dedication to dead ancestors).
13. A sage named Agarti sacrificed beasts and birds. The
description as given on page 267 (chapter 5 verse 22)
appears below:
Brahmins should sacrifice holy beasts and animals
for the sake of Yagna and their own parents because
Agartya did likewise before.
14. In ancient days of the Rishis, Brahmis and Khatriyas
used to sacrifice as it appears on page 267 (chapter 5
verse 23) which is as under:
In Yagna of the ancient Rishis and in Yagna of the
Brahmins and Khatriyas meat of eatable birds and
animals were distributed.
15. Manu-Smrity not only teaches animal sacrifice but also
allows meat eating as on page 267 (chapter 5 verse 26)
which is as under:
One should eat meat purified by recitation of Vedic
1 Sprinkling of holy water for purification

hymns. One should eat meat if many Brahmins
desire meat eating. If someone is invited at a
congregation after gods or parents, he should eat
meat. And one should eat meat at the time he
breathes his last.
16. What kind of punishment is due for him who rejects to
eat the meat of sacrificed animal is given on page 269
(Chapter 5 verse 35) which is as under:
If anybody is invited to Yagna (sacrificial feast) or
Shraddha (feast after someone’s death) according to
Shastras (religious scriptures) a lie refrains from
meat eating he will take animal birth twenty-one
times.
17. Brahma created animals especially for the purpose of
sacrifice as it is written on page 270 (chapter 5 verse 39)
which is as under: –
Brahma himself created animals for Yagna. And
Yagna is for the prosperity of the world. Therefore
killing of animals for sacrifice is not considered as
violence.
18. Sacrificed animals are directed to the right path and
they reach heaven according to a verse on page 270
(chapter 5 verses 40 & 41) which is as under: –
The learned Brahmin who kills animals in Yagna
and Shraddha sublimates his own soul as well as the
animals.
58 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
19. Herbs such as Soma, animals such as goats, trees such
as plants, birds such as Tiryanch, Kapinjal, etc;
whatsoever dies for Yagna gets birth of higher rank and
goes to heaven.
20. The very Vedas which prohibits violence, orders animal
sacrifice. Will anybody who understands Vedas hesitate
from sacrificing? Who can be greater enemy of Veda
than he who doubts this command?
21. It can be understood from all this that Vedas have
permitted sacrifice of animals and birds. Everybody
should eat meat of sacrificed animal. Vedas prohibit
violence, yet sacrifice is ordered in the Vedas. It is clear
that the Hindus do not understand the meaning of
violence. Vedas order that sacrifice is not violence still
Hindus considers sacrifice as violence. Not only this,
they behave enmity with meat eating communities. How
unjust is this? It is ordered so far in Vedas that he who
opposes sacrifice is the enemy of the Vedas. He who
does not eat meat will be born as a lowly beast not only
once but twenty one times. Is more comprehension
necessary? We also read above that he who does not
sacrifice and refrains from meat-eating is the thief of
God; he will never get paradise. He who wishes to
obtain liberation in this as well as another world should
sacrifice and eat meat.

Husaini Brahmin1
(This article of late Khwaja Hasan Nizami is full of new
information, and it shall be read with interest. In this article
Khwaja Sahib throws light not only on the tribe of Husaini
Brahmins but also on the predictions in ‘Kalki Purana’ about
the advent of Hazrat Rasool-e-Maqbool (s.a.w.a.) and these are
very interesting).
1. In many provinces of India ‘Husaini Brahmins’ are seen
in sizable numbers. They are staunch Hindus. Their
customs and beliefs are just like Hindus. But they have
special faith on Hazrat Imam Husain (a.s.). They say
that their ancestors were with Hazrat Imam Husain (a.s.)
at the time of battle and they requested Imam Husain
(a.s.) to come to India with them. Hazrat Imam Husain
(a.s.) also had accepted their request; and it is evident
from the terms of peace he put forward to Abdullah bin
Ziad that he should be allowed to go to India; because
he smells love from the direction of India.
2. Some Husaini Brahmins say that their ancestors
returned to India while several of them say that they
were martyred with Hazrat Imam Husain (a.s.).
3. This statement of Husaini Brahmins is thought-
provoking, because Shri Krishna had predicted the
event of Karbala beforehand and this is present in his
1 From Isna Ashari monthly of Bombay of Rabiul Awwal 1378 A.H. by

book ‘Shriman Bhagwat’. Again they say that according
to Kalki Purana – the last Purana of the eighteen
Puranas in which there is description about Kaliyuga
and the incarnation of Kalyuga. There is a story about
the grandson of the incarnation of Kaliyuga who will be
murdered oppressively and ruthlessly.
4. I saw an Urdu edition of ‘Kalki Purana’ (Printed in
Meerut) and found some support for the statement of
Husaini Brahmins. It is written in Kalki Purana that the
Incarnation of Kaliyuga will be born in ‘Sambhal Island’.
According to Hindus ‘Sambhal Island’ is the ‘Sambhal’
village situated in District Moradabad. But the famous
English professor, Dr. Max Muller, writes in his English
translation of the Vedas that the ‘Sambhal Island’
means Arabia, because Sambhal means soft and oily
land, and the land of Sambhal, District Moradabad is
not such.
5. It is also stated in Kalki Purana that the incarnation of
Kaliyuga will be born in Brahmin Family. Hazrat
Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.) was born in Quraish
tribe and Quraish tribe enjoys the same honorable
position among other Arab tribes as it is enjoyed by
Brahmins among Hindus. This guess appears and Shri
Krishna might have called Hazrat Muhammad (s.a.w.a.)
as the Incarnation of Kaliyuga.
6. It is also found in Kalki Purana that the name of the
father of the Incarnation of Kaliyuga will be ‘Vishnudas.’
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 61
In Sanskrit Language, ‘Vishnu’ means ‘God’ and ‘Das’
means ‘servant’ – Abd. This matter also indicates that
this prediction was for Hazarat Muhammad Mustafa
(s.a.w.a.) because his father’s name was Abdullah. Kalki
Purana also states that his mother’s name will be
‘Omarti’. ‘Omarti’ means the speaker of truth and
keeper of patience in accordance with Allah’s wish. The
name of Hazrat’s mother was ‘Aamena’ which means
trustworthy and true woman.
7. It is also written in Kalki Purana that the Incarnation of
Kaliyuga will practice penance in the cave of a mountain
and there ‘Sharam’ will come and teach him a lesson.
Before he got (announced) prophethood, Hazrat
Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) used to visit the cave of Hira.
8. In this very cave Gabriel came with God’s command.
And the wordings of the first verse of Quran were such
as to support this statement about teaching a lesson –
‘Recite with the name of thy God who has created.’
9. Thereafter it is further written in Kalki Purana that ‘The
family members and fellow citizens will cause grief to
the Incarnation of Kaliyuga and he will leave his home
and city and go to the mountains northwards.’ This very
incident happened to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.). He
was harassed by his family members and when they
made preparations to kill him he left Mecca and went
northwards to Medina and resided there.
62 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
10. After that it is written in Kalki Purana that; ‘The
Incarnation of Kaliyuga will have tremendous love for
his daughter, son in law and grandsons; and one of his
grandson will be decapitated on hot sand near the bank
of a flowing river. From the blood of the martyr a flame
(light) will emerge and illuminate the whole world.’ I
found these particulars in the book in support of the
statement of Husaini Brahmins.
11. About the Veda of the last era (Atharva Veda) Husaini
Brahmins say that there is also description about Kalki
Avatar and his grandson Hazrat Imam Husain (a.s.).
12. Husaini Brahmins say even more than this. It is their
belief that Hazrat Imam Husaini’s father was ‘Om
Murti’ that is to say that he was incarnation of ‘Om Bali’.
13. Millions of Hindu followers of his highness Sir Agakhan
profess the same belief. They say that if ‘Yaa Ali’ is
written in Kufic style and ‘Om’ is written in Sanskrit
script, they will resemble each other. They wear a
particular type of locket on which ‘Ya Ali’ resembling
‘Om’ is carved.
14. Exempting the Hindu followers of Sir Agakhan there is
also a Hindu sect named ‘Sat Panthi’ in Bombay State.
Their population is about twenty lacs. The centre of this
sect is in ‘Pirana’ – place near Ahmadabad. There is also
a shrine of Peer Sayed Imamuddin Sahib – the founder
of that sect. On this shrine a lamp has been burning
since last three hundred years. There is also a shrine of
ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT 63
‘Janoi’ nearly. Those Hindus who become Momins
discard their Janoi (holy thread) here and then go into
peer’s shrine. There are two sub-sections of this sect.
One of them is called ‘Gupti’. Gupti means concealed.
Their name, appearance, actions etc. are just like those
of the Hindus, and they secretly recite ‘Ali’ ‘Ali’. They go
to pilgrimage of Peer Imamuddin’s shrine and the holy
flame. They contribute one tenth of their income to
Peer’s shrine. Their population is fifteen lacs. The
second sub-sect is called ‘Pragati’ which means ‘known.’
They are confirmed Shias and got the title of Momin.
They also contribute one tenth of their income to the
shrine. They perform Namaz, Roza and their names are
Islamic – Ghulam Ali, Ghulam Husain, Ghulam Haider
and women’s names are Kulsumbai, Fatemabai,
Rukiabai, Zainabbai, etc.
15. The centre of one of the community is in Palanpur
District. Peer Mashaekh was its founder. The followers
of this sect are half Shias and half Sunnis. They were
attracted to Islam by the love of Hazrat Imam Husain
(a.s.).
16. In Sind and Bombay Province there is a big sect called
‘Meraj Panthi’. They call themselves ‘Pirana Panthi’ also.
‘Pirana Panthis’ believe in a book called ‘Sat Deeni’; and
‘Meraj Panthis’ also believe in a book named ‘Kulzum
Sharif’. I saw this book in Kathiawar. This book is in
Gujarati Script. It consists of extracts from Masnavi
64 ELIA & ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPT
Sharif, Diwan-e-Hafiz, Quran-e-Majeed and the
traditions of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.).
17. This sect believes in ascension in person of Hazrat
Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) and they have great faith in the
future advent of Hazrat Imam Mehdi (a.t.f.s.). It is their
belief that theirs is the only right and true religion.
Their temples are called ‘Dhaam’. One of them is
situated in Nagar Thatta, (Sind). There is also a very big
‘Dhaam’ in Jamnagar – Kathiawar. But I have seen only
the ‘Dhaam’ of Rajkot, Kathiawar and there I had the
honor to see Kulzum Shariff.

‘I reveal my word through his tongue.’
Here is apparently, a sentence consisting of seven words,
studied minutely, this piece contains a summary of the grand
prophecy given in the eighteenth chapter of the Book of Moses
(a.s.) called lstisna.
In these impressive glad tiding given hereunder there are a
number of signs and symbols in respect of the advent of the
illustrious Last Prophet (s.a.w.a.). At the same time the
Almighty Allah has also appraised Janab-e-Kaleemullah

in the concluding age (of the world) also, shall hold direct
conversation with Him. Not only that, but there shall be put on
his tongue Divine Word. So that every thing he says shall be as
if said from the Almighty Allah. His word shall be the word of
the Almighty Allah. The Divine Word shall be understood as
His very word:
Nor he speaks of his own inclination. If (i.e.
whatever he speaks) is naught but a revelation
revealed to him.1
Even though it comes out through the voice of His Servant, yet,
what a strange and sorrowful spectacle is it, that the Jews and
the Christians misunderstood the import of this prophecy of
the Torah of Moosa (a.s.). They did so knowingly and
deliberately.
Monks Buhaira and Mastoora Recognized The
Prophet (s.a.w.a.)
The monks Buhaira and Mastoora, even at the very first sight,
had recognized at once, the illustrious personality of the Holy
Prophet (s.a.w.a.) as answering to the Biblical prophecies. They
expressed themselves in quite obvious terms thus: Here is the
very Last Prophet (s.a.w.a.) whose resplendent advent has
been the subject of the glad tidings of the Torah and the
Evangel His grandeur and his status have been spoken of by
Moosa (a.s.), Eesa (a.s.) and all the Prophets of the by-gone

ages in their respective scriptures and gospels.
The Almighty Allah speaks in the second part of the prophecy
of Prophet Moosa (a.s.).
He shall speak to them whatever I recite to him. And
it will signify that anyone not giving his ear to what
he says in My Name, shall stand for reckoning to
Me.1
These words of the prophecy clearly imply that the Almighty
Allah was to speak to the great Prophet (s.a.w.a.) whom He was
to raise (among mankind) and to reveal to him some
particularly sublime words. All the human race was to give
sincere attention thereto and to act in accordance therewith.
And anyone not plying heed thereto and failing in compliance
therewith was warned with dire consequences on the
Doomsday.
The foremost book, The foremost Word
The Great Prophet (s.a.) arrives, in his stately form, as was
befitting his appearance. The Last of the Prophets (s.a.) comes
wearing the sublime apparel of ‘My light’ which was the
foremost Creation of the Almighty Allah. ‘He claims that the
Light of Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) was created when Adam was yet
in the state of water and earth.’ It was a time when the
Universe of the Earth and the Heavens had no existence of any
sort. Even the soul of Adam was in a nebulous state of vapor
1 Istisna, Chapter 18
70 FATOOHA
and matter. He comes to adorn the Last throne in consonance
with the tidings given by all the long line of the Prophets of
yore.
The Word Allah First Put On His Tongue
The question thus arises as to the nature of the word, which
the Almighty Allah put on his tongue in the first instance.
What were the expressions that flowed from him in the name
of the Almighty Allah? They were words, not to hear which
entails everlasting damnation words, not to submit whereto,
merits abiding torment words which, if ignored in action, drag
the man into the abyss of Hell.
Every Muslim rightly-oriented in Faith holds the belief that the
Light of Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) came into being before every
thing of the Universe. In the same way a Muslim having true
Faith believes as firmly that the Holy Quran came into being
before all the books and the gospels. It is to be remembered,
however, that just as the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) came last of
all, so, too, the Holy Quran came as the final episode of all the
writings and books that were revealed. And this, too, for the
guidance and benefit of the mankind – bit by bit, as gradual
code of instruction, one lesson following the other. The Muslim
‘Faith is easy to follow’, was the claim to be substantiated. Its
whole sale revelation in one step was avoided to relieve its
burden. As a matter of fact, several centuries back the
proclamation had resounded dearly about the Holy Quran and
the bearer there of in the words,
FATOOHA 71
‘The untutored (uneducated by any human being but
already taught by Allah) has been given the Book
that he may read it.’1
Once again the question arises as to the word that was put on
the tongue of the Last Prophet (s.a.) by the Almighty Allah. We
need not refer to the Holy Quran for an answer to this question
for the time being. The Bible itself has supplied the requisite
answer in very glowing words thus:
Revelation of St. John
Then I saw another Mighty Angel coming down
from heaven. He was wrapped in cloud, with the
rainbow round his head; his face shone like the sun
and his legs were like pillars of fire. In his hand he
held a little scroll unrolled. And he set his right foot
upon the sea and his left foot on the earth. Then he
gave a great shout, like the roar of a lion; and when
he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. I
was about to write down what the seven thunders
had said; but I heard a voice from Heaven saying,
unto me, ‘Seal up what the seven thunders have said;
do not write it down’. Then the Angel that I saw
standing on the Sea and upon the earth raised his
right hand to heaven and swore by Him who lives
forever and ever. Who created Heaven and Earth
and the Sea and everything in them, ‘There shall be
1 Saheefah Yasayah, Chapter 18
72 FATOOHA
no more delay; but when the time comes for the
seventh Angel to sound his trumpet, the hidden
purpose of God will have been fulfilled as He has
declared to His Servants the Prophets.’
‘Fatooha’ An Open Book
Fatooha is a word of the Hebrew language. In the old editions
of the Bible, the word occurs in its original form. Later editions,
however, have replaced the original word by its substitute,
meaning ‘An open Book’. The word Fatooha means very bright
and manifest, needing no explanations being of self-evident
nature. In the Bible editions of the Hebrew, the word ‘Fatooha’
is as yet preserved.
In the Arabic language, the word corresponding to it is
‘Fatehah’, which means exactly what the Hebrew word
‘Fatooha’ signifies.
As such the prophecy given in the words of St. John is
therefore clear that what Jamah John was shown in his trance
was the chapter Fatehah. He was not, however, allowed to put
in black and white. He was directed to get it sealed in his heart
as a guarded treasure.
This brief brochure which has been named ‘Fatooha’ or the
‘Fatehah’, consists of seven verses. The exegetist and the
scholars have pointed out more than twenty five names.
Among these names the more well-known are: Al-Hamd, Al-
Fatehah, Fatehatal Kitab, Sab’a Masaani, Ummul Kitab,
Ummul Quran and Roohul Quran. It is strange coincidence
FATOOHA 73
that this chapter which comprises seven verses has also seven
names of special note. The Prophecy, too, has as such hinted at
this fact thus:
The cloud, then, gave seven thunders revelation of
the Holy Quran
It is generally thought, in respect of the revelations of the Holy
Quran, that it was the chapter Alaq with which the Revelation
started in the first instance. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) was at
the time, praying in the cave of Hira? When Angel Jibrael (a.s.)
visited him and asked him to read in the name of the Almighty
Allah. The Prophet (s.a.) enquired what to read.
Angel Jibrael (a.s.) then read the verses which are from part of
chapter ‘Alaq’ and the Holy Prophet (a.s.) also recite them.
Priority Of Al-Hamd
As for the belief that the verses of Chapter Alaq were the first
to be revealed, the matter needs a deeper probe. An
investigation of the historical and biographical records brings
out the reality, that it was the Chapter Hamd or the Fatehah to
be the commencing Chapter of the revelation. This is the
personal opinion of the author based on his own findings, but
not generally accepted. As a matter of fact this chapter Hamd
enjoys priority over every other constituent of Islamic worship.
The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) himself has stressed its importance
thus: There can be no performance of prayers without the
Fatehahtul Kitab. It follows as a necessary conclusion from this
74 FATOOHA
that this chapter was the first to be revealed and to be taught.
‘The History of Islam is quite explicit on the point of the
worship by the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) even before his
manifest call to Prophethood. He used to go out into the
wilderness, visited caves and hills as his resorts for worship. It
is certain, that he would have been reciting the Chapter Al-
Hamd as part of his worship. He, himself, says that without
reciting this chapter, no worship can be gone through.
In any case it shall have to be conceded that the institution of
prayer must have been made obligatory simultaneously with
the call to the Prophethood. For the performance of prayers,
the recitation of the Chapter Al-Hamd must have become
obligatory. As such, whatever is the requirement of the case,
the evidence points clearly to the revelation of the chapter Al-
Hamd as taking precedence over every other verse of the Holy
Quran. It was revealed foremost of all, or made the subject of
instruction, in as much as it is a hymn offering, a supplication
to the Almighty Allah. As such, it was but befitting the
grandeur and the dignity of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) that the
foremost words to escape his lips should be in the form of
Hamd. They should comprise the sentiments of praise and of
glorification. As such the first words that came from his tongue
are:
Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Al-Hamdo

Kaleemullah (Musa [a.s.]).
This it shall be, that any one not paying heed to the words
which he shall say in My name, I shall call to the reckoning.
All Glory is to the Almighty Allah, ‘I shall call him to the
reckoning.’
How beautifully have these words of the said prophecy
elucidated the meanings of the word, ‘Maaleke Yawmiddeen’.
They have removed from over a hidden mystery, all sorts of
veils. In one simple sentence is expressed that fact that the
Almighty Allah is, undoubtedly the Lord Almighty Allah. He
shall call every one to the reckoning. All the same the twelve
letters of the word ‘Maaleke Yawmiddeen – Meem, Alif, Laam,
Kaf, Yaa, Waw, Meem, Alif, Lam, Dal, Yaa and Noon show that
he (the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) as the Dispenser of the ‘Hell fire
and Paradisiacal Bliss’, shall have his say in apportioning the
reward and punishment to mankind. Who else, if not he, has a
title to such choice?
Add to the above the fact, that while the Almighty Allah is
Rabbul Aalameen (The Sustainer of the Universes), the Holy
FATOOHA 77
Prophet (s.a.w.a.) is the ‘Mercy for the Universes’ (Rahmatul
lil-Aalameen). The Almighty Allah has the attributes of Ar-
Rahmaan Ar-Raheem (The Most Compassionate, the Most
Beneficent). So too the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) has the qualities
of Compassion and Beneficence. It is for this that a
supplication has been made in this invocation to the Rabbal
Aalameen (The Sustainer of the Universes), for guidance to the
Right Path (Seraatal Mustaqeem) of which is the path of
salvation, the path of those Infallible Ones who are favoured
with ‘Your’ Reward.
Besides, this invocation includes a supplication to be saved
from the line of action and the attitude of those who are the
target of Your wrath (Magzoobeen and Zaalleen) and those
who got astray. Most of the exegetics have taken only the Jews
and the Christian to be implied by the terms Magzoobeen and
Zaalleen. This is true no doubt but it is not correct to restrict
these terms to the Jews and the Christians. For, when the
Right Path, prayed for, is the Path of the infallible ones, the
Path of those virtuous souls, who attain to the Path of the Holy
Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and the Imams (a.s.) it follows that along
with the Jew and the Christians should be sought the
deliverance from the path of those who merit the wrath of the
Almighty Allah and who got astray. They are those who are the
enemies the very lives of the infallible ones the Holy Prophet
(s.a.w.a.) and his progeny (a.s.) who received grievous hurts at
their hands. They are those who put to the severest tortures the
Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and his Progeny (a.s.). They are those
who staged revolts against them at each and every step. They
78 FATOOHA
are those who notwithstanding their professions of Islam
looked upon in the situations of Prophethood and Imamat with
doubts. They were the people who tyrannized the noble souls.
It is for such people that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) said,
Those who take up arms against ourselves (the Holy
Prophet [s.a.w.a.]) and his Holy Progeny have no
connection with ourselves. Not only are they
meriting the wraths of the Almighty Allah, not only
are they the misguided ones, but they are also the
ones outside the pale of Islam.
The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) has himself indicated a sign of the
one meriting Divine wrath thus Fatemah is a part and parcel of
my being. Anyone who offends her offends me and anyone who
offends me does offend the Almighty Allah.
It is thus shown that it is not the unbelievers and the
polytheists alone who are among those who have merited the
wrath of the Almighty Allah and who are among the misguided
ones. Even those Muslims are bracketed with them who after
accepting Islam did not follow the Right Path of the infallible
ones. They became included among those who merited the
wrath of the Almighty Allah and those who got astray, because
of their wrong ways. It is to this that the words ‘Ghayril
Maghzoobe Alayhim wa lazzaalleen’ point out.
An Analysis Of The Prophecy Of St. John
On looking closer into the contents of the prophecy of St. John,
certain very obvious facts come to light from the underlying
FATOOHA 79
mysteries. The Prophecy may be analyzed as follows:
(1) He sees a mighty angel coming down from heavens.
This implies the Holy personality of the Prophet (s.a.) of the
Almighty Allah, in as much as he lords over the entire creation.
He is mightier than every thing in the earth and the Heaven. As
such the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) has been called the ‘mighty
angel.’ John was very lucky to get a glimpse of the Holy
Prophet (s.a.w.a.) in his ecstasy, though not in his real figure,
but in the figure of the angel.
(2) He was wrapped in cloud.
Among the distinctive high rank of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.)
is that a white layer of cloud kept its shade over him. Books of
history and biography have, in general, made mention thereof.
Ummul Momineen Khadeejatul Kubra (a.s.) has herself stated
to the following effect, ‘Before his call to prophethood, the
Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) returned from Basrah with her
merchandise. There were flying on his right and on his left two
holy birds. Over his head there was a white piece of cloud
providing shade for him.’
The foremost of the spouses of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) was
witnessing third scene from over the roof of her house.1
(3) With the bow round his head.
The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.), so to say, had a bow on his head
like the fire arms of this age, the bow and the arrow constituted
1 Seerat-e-Khadijah (a.s.), published by Mauly
80 FATOOHA
a mighty arm of those days. The presence of the bow on his
head represents that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) after his call to
prophethood would undertake Holy Wars against the enemies
of the faith. He would in the end win victories and would come
out successful. He prevailed over the nation of the world.
Moreover, the symbol of the bow also indicates that (some
among the members of the family of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.)
shall be made the targets of arrows. They would be martyred
with similar weapons. The battle of Karbala is an obvious proof
of the same. Not only was the Holy victimized Imam Husain
(a.s.) pierced with arrows and martyred but even the youthful
prince Ali Akbar was robbed of his life by the arrows of the
accursed foes, the infant Asghar (a.s.) got his soft throat
pierced by three pronged arrow – with a smile on his lips the
little six month old son of Imam Husain (a.s.) gave up his life.
The prophecy of St. John has a reference to this – the presence
of the bow on his head.
(4) His face shines like the sun.
The Almighty Allah has addressed the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.)
by the appellation of the Brilliant sun – the sun that radiates
Light: ‘Siraj’ in the Arabic languages goes not mean only a
lamp. The Arabic lexicon dubs the heavenly Sun as ‘Siraj’, as
well. It is from the word ‘Siraj’ that the Hindi word ‘Suraj’ and
the Sanskrit word ‘Suryah’ have been derived. Besides the Holy
Prophet (s.a.w.a.) has also been named the ‘forenoon Sun’. The
Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) himself is Light personified. He is
shining, giving out radiance all around. His face has, therefore
FATOOHA 81
been shown to be similar to the sun.
(5) His legs were like pillars of fire.
There are two interpretations of the words ‘legs like the pillars
of fire’.
(i) The Prophet (s.a.) shall reduce to the ashes all forms of
infidelism and polytheism. Not a trace of these shall be found
in his religion ‘Islam’
(2) He shall hold out the threat of the Hell to the enemies of
the Almighty Allah and His Messenger (s.a.w.a.) as also to
those who deny the truth. Those who turn their backs to the
commands of the Almighty Allah and his beloved infallible
ones (a.s.) shall be cast into the Hell.
(6) He had in his hand a small brochure with Fatooha as its
title.
It refers to the chapter Fatehah also known by the appellation
‘Al-Hamd.’ This chapter comprising seven verses is spoken of
allegorically as a small brochure.
It is the chapter wherein have been embodied the two
fundamental purposes of the entire Holy Quran and as such of
the whole of the Religion:
(a) Belief
(b) Action.
Belief has two aspects:
(i) The Beginning
82 FATOOHA
(ii) The Ending.
So has ‘Action’ its two aspects:
(i) Adoption of the praiseworthy, righteous attributes
(ii) Avoiding contemptible, evil habits.
All of these are incorporated in this brief, sublime chapter. It is
the chapter wherein there is the Glorification and Praise for
the Almighty Allah. Herein we have the mention of the
Compassion and Beneficence of the Lord. There is the pointed
reference to the Day of Reckoning. There is the direction for
adopting the Path of Guidance of the Almighty Allah and the
infallible ones (a.s.). We have herein the reference to the
virtues of the infallible ones (a.s.) side by side with the
condemnation of the infidels, the polytheists, the enemies of
the True Faith and the antagonists of the Holy Prophet
(s.a.w.a.) and his Holy Progeny (a.s.).
This is the chapter the commencement whereof has been made
with the five holy letters. Alif, Laam, Hai, Meem and Daal.
Herein is an indication that the rightly guided and the
foremost guides in the first instances are five in number.
Herein has been shown that the number of the Holy souls,
meriting heavenly rewards of the Prophethood and the Imamat
also is five ( Alif, Noon, Ain, Meem, Ta).
Herein is also expressed that the number of those who call to
the Rabbul Aalameen (Sustainer of the Universes) in their
glorification and worship is fourteen (i) Alif (ii) Laam (iii)
Laam, (iv) Ha, (v) Ra, (vi) Ba, (vii) Alif (vii) Laam, (ix) Ain, (x)
FATOOHA 83
Alif (xi) Laam, (xii) Meem, (xiii) Ya, (xiv) Noon. Herein has
been said that besides the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) there are
twelve more infallible ones characterized by the Divine
attributes of ‘Compassions and Beneficence.’ ( Al-Rahman Al-Raheem 6+6).
Therein we find that the success of this life and of the
Hereafter is gained by the love for and the obedience to the
fourteen Holy Souls, who are the custodians of the Paths of
Guidance and the Straight Paths.
(Al Seraat Al-Mustaqeem ( !" #$) – Alif, Laam, Saud, Ra Ya, Alif, Laam, Meem Seen, Ta, Qaf, Ya, Meem: (14). This is the
Brief Brochure ‘Fatooha’, wherein have been condensed whole
volumes of books.
He set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the Earth.
This sentence is quite clear in its meaning. It implies that the
promised Prophet will be the lord of the land and the oceans.
He will be the monarch of the universe – the ruler of all the
Creation. All the land and the sea shall be under his control.
He shall be the over-lord of the waters and the meadows. All
sorts of creatures – marine and of dry earth – shall submit to
his orders.
And for the sake of the Great Prophet (s.a.) in whose favor the
whole universe and the entire creations were brought into
being, after all, why could not the land and the seas has given
into his possession, seeing that the heavens and the
inhabitants were made subservient to him.
84 FATOOHA
Then he gave a great shout, like the roar of a Lion and when he
shouted, the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write down
what the seven thunders had spoken.
In this part of the prophecy has been expressed the state of the
revelations of the chapter Al-Hamd Comprising seven verses.
That is to say that this sublime chapter has been ushered in
with seven powerful sounds. St. John says in his trance that on
hearing these seven sounds he wanted to put them in black and
white. He then heard a voice calling upon him to get the
utterance received through the seven thunder of the cloud,
sealed. He was forbidden to put them in writing. On the other
hand he was required to get them sealed as a treasure in his
own heart. He was to keep it treasured up in his bosom. It was
for some other Prophet (a.s.) to get them put in black and
white. He was to appear in the later days of the earths.
Past Prophets Apprised Of Al-Hamd
From the prophecy of St John, another mystery gets solved,
namely a facsimile of the chapter must have been made
manifest to the Prophets of Yore. ‘They must have been
apprised duly of its importance, its significance and its
grandeur. All the same, the permission to put it in black and
white and to incorporate the same in any gospel was withheld.
It was preserved expressly for the Book of the Almighty Allah,
the Book of Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) designated by the name of
the Holy Quran; This too, affords proof of the ancient age of
the chapter Al-Hamd, as being the foremost word of the
FATOOHA 85
Almighty Allah. We may surmise that Chapter Al-Hamd came
into being simultaneously with the covert being of the Holy
Prophet (s.a.w.a.).
Then the angel that I saw standing on the sea and the land
raised his hand to heaven and swore by Him Who lives for ever
and ever. Who created heaven and earth and the sea and every
thing in them, ‘There shall be no more delay; but when the
time comes for the seventh angel to sound his trumpet the
hidden purpose of God will have been fulfilled, as he promised
to His servants – the prophets.
This part of the prophecy carries special importance in as
much as, herein the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) has averred to St.
John on oath of the Almighty Allah to the following effect: The
meanings of this small brochure ‘Fatooha’ shall become
manifest in the last millennium when the signs of the
approaching Day of Judgment shall become obvious. It will be
the time when the glad tidings given by the Prophets (s.a.) of
Yore shall be fulfilled.
It transpires from this that all the communications about
human welfare that have been received through the True
Prophets of the by gone ages all along the line from Prophet
Adam Safiullah (a.s.) down to Prophet Isa (a.s.) connected with
the advent of the Last Prophet (s.a.w.a.) shall come into being.
His distinctions shall be that he shall have this small Brochure
of Truth and Reality with him – the Fatooha namely the
chapter Al-Hamd of the Holy Quran.
86 FATOOHA
Prophet (s.a.w.a.) Through The Vedas
Even the Vedas (the Hindu scriptures) have given the glad
tidings of the advent of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) thus:
Ahmad alone, infact shall espouse wisely and
intelligently the truth vouchsafed to him by his
spiritual Father. He shall proclaim:
O Mankind I have come up in life as the Sun, by
virtue of Truth. I adorn my speech under the ages of
the instruction from my Spiritual Father alone.
From Him, I derive my energy myself.
In this happy exposition of the Vedas, has been given the
simile of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) as the Sun – the Siraajam
Muneera the warner and the bearer of good tidings, in very
much the same way as in the trance of St. John: His face shone
like the Sun.
Imam Mahdi (a.s.) and Fatooha
Another meaning of the prophecy of St. John is to the effect
that when Imam Mahdi (a.s.) makes his advent on the
approach of the Day of Judgement, it is then that the complete
significance of the small Brochure ‘Fatooha’ (Fatehah) shall
become manifest. Just consider the following words of the
prophecy.
There shall be no more delay, but when the time comes for the
seventh angel to sound his trumpet, the hidden purpose of God
shall have been fulfilled. Here is a hint to the Voice from
FATOOHA 87
Heavens which shall proclaim:
And listen for the day whereon the crier shall cry
from near place1 at the time of the advent of Imam
Mahdi (a.s.).
Another sign for the advent of the Imam (a.s.) of the last age
has been furnished thus:
The Day when they hear the cry in truth; that is the
Day of coming forth (from the graves).2
The creatures of the Almighty Allah shall then see for
themselves, whether they adopted the Right Path or the
Crooked one, whether they spent their lives in obedience to
those who were blessed with heavenly bliss or the disobedience
to them; whether one paid his due to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.)
for his painstaking efforts in the cause of his purpose of
Prophethood, by bowing his head low to the love of his
Progeny (a.s.) or he had spent his days of life in antagonizing
the Almighty Allah by causing hurt, injury and offence to his
favorites.
Al-Hamd Replete With Mysteries
Glory to the Almighty Allah! What a sublime and superb
Chapter is the Al-Hamd! It comprehends in its purview all the
matters, commandments, directives, intelligence, and the
events from the very, day of the creation of the universe right

88 FATOOHA
up to the Day of the Final Gathering. The Top Most Creator has
revealed this Chapter, replete with the mysteries of the earth
and the heavens, internal and external.
To this effect has been declared in another prophecy of
Prophet Moosa (a.s.) to the following effect:
You should listen to what he says. And so it shall be
that anyone who does not listen to Prophet (s.a.) he
shall be destroyed, from among the Ummat.1
In one of the prophecies of Prophet Moosa (a.s.) it was
proclaimed to the following effect:
And so it shall be that anyone who does not pay heed
to My words, which he shall say in My name, I shall
call him to the reckoning.
The other prophecy clearly declares:
Anyone who does not listen to the Prophet (s.a.)
shall be destroyed from among the Ummat.
These words are self-explanatory. Those of the mankind who
have waved aside the guidance and the Commands of the
custodians of the treasure of ‘Ana’mta Alayhim’ ( ع ) (the path of those upon whom You have bestowed ‘Your’ bounties
have been included among the Magzoobeen (%) and the Zaalleen (), They have been expelled from among the Ummat of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.). They are outside the
pale of Islam. And yet how strange that even among the
1 Act : iv, 23-25

Muslims there is a section who look upon the Magzoobeen and
the Zaalleen as true and staunch Muslims. They get offended
and their brows get knit up when the Yazeeds are dubbed as
infidels and the slayers of the members of the Holy Family are
called apostates.
The Lion Of Allah – Ali (a.s.)
Two important hints – Two supreme indications: Roar of the
Lion and Thunder of Cloud.
The trance of St John, which has been referred to, contains two
strange hints:
(i) Then he gave a great shout like the roar of a Lion.
(ii) And when he shouted the seven thunders spoke of the
cloud.
Both these hints embody very deep mysteries.
Let us try to prove deeper into these mysterious hints. It is fact
quite well-known that the grand personality of Janab-e-
Ameerul Momineen Ali Murtaza (a.s.) is also spoken of as the
Lion of the Almighty Allah. The same Lion of the Almighty
Allah known as Ali (a.s.) bears a name with the same
appellation of the Almighty Allah. It is also known that the
Almighty Allah spoke to his Beloved Prophet (s.a.w.a.) in the
tone of His name-sake Ali when the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.)
approached the Heavenly throne on the Night of the Heavenly
Ascent.
Here, too, St. John hears the same accent of Ali (a.s.), the Lion
90 FATOOHA
of the Almighty Allah, the champion of the Religion of Islam.
He is reciting the verses of the chapter Al-Hamd. He is making
a recital of the chapter Al-Fatehah – it is Muhammad (s.a.w.a.)
and Ahmad (s.a.w.a.) who is present there. But the accents are
those of Ali Murtaza (a.s.) the Lion of the Almighty Allah.
The Messenger is a powerful angel in his physical appearance.
His Deputy and Legatee is in the form of a powerful Lion – A
Lion at whose roar the hearts of the earth and the heaven
quake – a Lion whose roar reverberates throughout the
expanses of the universe a powerful Lion – Ali (a.s.), the over
powering Lion of the Almighty Allah.
Ameerul Momineen Ali (a.s.) on a certain occasion himself said.
I am Abul Hasan – the Male Lion.1
On the occasion of the campaign against Khaibar, while
reciting his war poem, he said to Marhab.
I am the one whose revered mother gave me the
name af Haidar. I am the ferocious Lion of the
wilderness of courage; I am the redoubtable Lion of
Sinewy arms of stout neck and am fierce looking in
my body.2
The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) in one of his addresses spoke in
eulogy of Ameerul Momineem Ali (a.s.) to the following effect.
1 Abu Dawood, Nasai, Tabrani, Mujam-e. Kabeer, Musnid Rahiah bin
Harith and others 2 Seeratun Nabuwwat Ibne Hisham, after the narration of Salmah bin
Akwa
FATOOHA 91
Here is the Lion of the Almighty Allah on the Land of
the Almighty Allah.1
So we see that no one else has been called by the appellation of
the Lion. No one else received the title of the Lion.
It is as such to be concluded that the Lion that roared in
heaven, whose roar meant the recitations of the seven verses of
the Al-Fatehah, was none else other than Ali (a.s.).
Prophet (s.a.w.a.) Speaks in voice of Ali (a.s.)
The signals were from the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.).
The words came from Ali (a.s.). The role played was that of the
hero of the heaven. The speech was that of Abu Turab Ali (a.s.).
This Lion of the Almighty Allah roared in a cloud. He recited
the seven verses of the Chapter Al-Hamd in awe inspiring
thunder of the terrific cloud
The cloud! Aye! The same cloud about which the Holy Prophet
(s.a.w.a.) says:
I am as the rain and Ali (a.s.) is as the cloud.2
What is strange in the Last Messenger (s.a.w.a.) speaking in
the accents of the First Imam Ali (a.s.). There is no wonder in
the use of the intonation of Ali (a.s.) by the Holy Prophet
(s.a.w.a.). Both of them have come of the same Divine Light.
The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) himself says,
1 Ashraf un-Nabuwwat, Abu Sad through Abdullah bin Akbar 2 Abu Saeed Asharafun Nabuwwat through the narration of lbne Umar
92 FATOOHA
The Almighty Allah created before everything else,
my Light and the Light of Ali (a.s.).
A point is especially note worthy. The Almighty Allah is
particularly well-disposed to Ali (a.s.). His angels take pride in
him.1 Is there anything then strange, if this Ali (a.s.) recites the
seven verses of the Chapter Al-Hamd in the reverberations of
the Lion’s Roar? Does it sound unthinkable, if he makes his
appearance to the prophets of Yore before his manifest
appearance? He was not named after the Name of the
Almighty Allah in vain.
Prophecy by Prophet Yusuf (a.s.)
There is a Syrian piece of writing eulogizing the merits of
Ameerul Momineem Ali (a.s.) as another piece of testimony. If
a piece of magnificent prophecy called Bashaarat-e-Yusufi it is
related to the following effect: –
1. The Light of the High Heavenly Throne.
2. Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) is more brilliant than the Sun.
3. He shall be given a book – Unique, without a peer.
4. His Conpanion Ali (a.s.) shall recite that Book aloud.
5. The Book that begin with seven lessons.
6. It comprises the Heaven as well as the Hell.
7. They relate to heavenly reward as well as punishment.

The Grandeur of Bashaarat-e-Yusufi
The sacrosanct writing which has been presented here to the
readers has its origin in the Qibti language which was spoken
in ancient Egypt and the adjacent lands. It was later translated
into the Syrian language. It is reported that during the period
of the imprisonment in the Egyptian prison of Prophet Yusuf
(a.s.) there was a Qibti in those days in the prison, who was
reading a writing in the Qibti language. It contained a
prophecy of the advent of Masih Ibne Maryam (a.s.), which
was to the following effect. A Prophet shall arrive. His mother
shall be very chaste. He shall be without a father. He shall be
given a Book. It shall contain a number of parables and news.
It shall contain a very grand prophecy about the advent of a
distinguished personage. This Prophet (s.a.) shall receive
severe ill-treatment at the hands of his people. His people, in
their enmity towards him, shall be planning to end his very life.
The Almighty Allah, however, shall protect him and call him to
Himself. On hearing these words of the prophecy, Prophet
Yusuf (a.s.) said:
O Fellow prisoner! What you are reading is quite
right but do you know the distinguished personage
about whose advent the grand prophecy makes
94 FATOOHA
mention in the book?
The fellow prisoner expressed his ignorance in answer to this.
Then said Prophet Yusuf (a.s.):
O dear friend! Just listen! The distinguished
personage is the one, for whose sake came into being
this whole universe of the earth and the heaven. Yes!
Listen attentively: The Light of the High Heavenly
throne is Muhammad (s.a.w.a.). He is more brilliant
than the Sun. He shall be given a book-unique,
without a peer. His companion Ali (a.s.) shall read
out that Book in loud tones. The Book begins with
seven lessons. They contain the mention of the
Heaven and of the Hell. They shall refer to the
heavenly reward as well as to the torment of the
Hell. It is a marvellous thing. It is a wonderful
miracle of the Prophet (s.a.) and of his companion.
Anyone who reads it listens to it and acts in
accordance there with it shall be successful.
Bashaarat-e-Yusufi Analyzed
Great is the Almighty Allah! How remarkable is the glad
tidings of Prophet Yusuf (a.s.). Every word thereof is replete
with the excellent and high status of the Holy Prophet
Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) and his Holy Progeny (a.s.).
(i) The light of the high heavenly throne.
(ii) He is more brilliant than the sun.
FATOOHA 95
It comprehends the brilliance of the Sun of Prophethood.
It has the radiance of the moon by way his status as the
Messenger of the Almighty Allah.
It resounds with the superiority of the Book of the Almighty
Allah. It points to the position of Ali (a.s.) as the Eloquent
Quran. It overflows with the high dignity of the Chapter Al-
Hamd. Glory be to the Almighty Allah! Here has been given
pithily by Prophet Yusuf (a.s.), the substance worth thousands
of details. Brevity is presented herein in all its expressions.
Right was Yusuf (a.s.) the possessor of elegance and beauty.
The Light of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) shines right through
the handsomeness and camliness of Prophet Yusuf (a.s.), why
should he, then, have missed the sublime mention of the Sun
of the Prophethood of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) in his
explanatory account. Let us analyze the account of the glad
tidings given by Prophet Yusuf (a.s.). A number of soul-stirring
secrets of faith get manifested. Prophet Yusuf (a.s.) says:
The Light of the High Heavenly throne Muhammad
(s.a.w.a.) is more brilliant than the Sun.
All the prophets, all the religious books, revealed or otherwise,
have called the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) as light, as Sun. St.
John says in his trance:
His face shone like the Sun.
The Athar vaid gives the glad tidings of the Last Messenger
(s.a.w.a.) of the Almighty Allah in the following eloquent
expressions:
96 FATOOHA
I have been born as the Sun, by virtue of such truth.
The Yajar Vaid says:
Mahamat, the Prophet who is to arrive, is the Light
of the Almighty Allah. He is bright as the Sun.
The Holy Quran, too, speaks of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) as
the Light, the brilliant Sun, the Sun of the Forenoon, in as
much as the darkness of polytheism and misguiding ignorance
of unbelief was dispelled by this same Sun of the Prophethood.
Thereby was spread the Light of the true faith in the Universe
of Creation.
(iii) He shall be given a Book:
About this Gift of the Book too, all the prophets of yore and the
previous books have, borne testimony by hints and signs by
brief and detailed references. In the Book of Moses (Torah) it is
recorded thus:
I shall put my word on his tongue. He shall say to
them everything I say to him.
In the trance of St. John is seen: ‘He had a small book in his
hand.’ The Athar vaida says: ‘I do adorn my speech with the
teaching of my spiritual Father.’
The Act says: ‘Listen to what he says.’
The Evangel has put it thus: ‘The helper, whom the Father
shall send in my name, shall teach you everything.’ Prophet
Eisa (Christ) says:
When that Spirit of truth comes, he shall guide you
FATOOHA 97
to the Path of the Entire Truth.
This is because he shall not say anything from himself He shall
say what he hears.
So has the Almighty Allah proclaimed to His Grand Prophet
(s.a.w.a.) with the gift of the Holy Quran:
This is the Book, there is no doubt in it (being the
word of Allah) (it is) a guidance for the pious
(ones).1
So did Prophet Yusuf (a.s.) son of Prophet Yaqoob (a.s.) state
in his prophecy:
He shall be given a Book, unique without a peer.
This is spoken of about the Book which was to be
given to the Prophet (s.a.) who was to come. And
about this Book there stands the claim of the One
Who is the Author of the Book. That! If You be in
doubt about what we have sent down to Our Servant
(Muhammad) produce you then a surah (chapter)
like it.2
O the bragging polytheists! Who get conceited in your
eloquence and command of language, bring forth even a single
chapter (for instance like Al-Hamd) paralleled thereto, Says
Quran:
If you be in doubt about what we have sent down to

our servant, produce you there a Surah like it.1
You make high claims stroking your chests, but can you put
forth any argument like the Book? Have you any smattering of
Truth? Then show us in any of your composition even two
words of the value of Bismillah or Al-Hamdullillah. The Book
must as a matter of course be unique, since its Author is
glorified as:
Nothing whatsoever (is there) like the like of Him.2
(iv) His companion (i.e. Ali [a.s.]) shall recite the Book:
In a few words has Prophet Yusuf (a.s.) supplied the proof of
the status of Ali (a.s.) as the Eloquent Quran, He has clearly
stated that it shall be revealed to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) as
the silent Quran. It shall be recited, however, by the Eloquent
Quran. Ali (a.s.) as Quran-e-Naatiq, the speaking Quran,
accompanying the speechless Quran. How could the Book of
Allah be understood, until the arrival of the one who spoke in
the spirit of the Book? Who could cognize the worth and
meaning of the word of the Almighty Allah and the word of the
Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.)?
(v) The Book that begins with seven lessons.
In the glad tidings given by Prophet Yusuf (a.s.) as purported
by this statement, we are told that the Book to be given to the
Messenger (s.a.w.a.) of the Almighty Allah, shall commence
with seven lessons or seven verses. This is a reference to the
1 Holy Quran, 2:23 2 Holy Quran, 42:11
FATOOHA 99
chapter Al-Hamd (Fatooha) which comprises seven verses.
He shall be given a Book-unique and without a peer. Ali (a.s.),
his companion, shall recite that Book aloud. It is now being
stated that the Book begins with seven lessons. So they are the
same seven lessons, which John heard in the roar of the Lion
and the thunder of the cloud in a mighty roar as of a Lion. They
did the cloud thunder seven times. 1 Just think over the
sequence of the Revelation of John and the prophecy of Janab
Yusuf (a.s.). There is a great deal of correspondence between
the two, as also a linkage therein. John has made use of a
metaphor in his statement about the same as the ‘roar of a
Lion’, and ‘the seven thunders of the cloud’.
Try to understand this part of the Bashaarat-e-Yusufi. It will
help to absorb the meanings thereof, to keep in the mind a
statement of deep insight, of the renowned companion
Abdullah Bin Masood. He says:
This Holy Quran has been revealed on seven letters.
There is not a single letter which has not an
apparent as well as a hidden meaning. Ali (a.s.) has
certainly (the Key to) the apparent and the hidden
meanings thereof.
From this statement of Hazrat Ibne Masood it transpires:
(a) The Holy Quran has its commencement with seven
letters or the seven verses of the chapter Al-Hamd
1 Revelations of John
100 FATOOHA
(b) In these verses of the chapter Al-Hamd is contained the
apparent and the hidden meaning of the whole of the
Holy Quran. In other words the chapter Al-Hamd is the
text, while the rest of the Holy Quran is the commentary
thereof.
(c) It is only the revered personality of Ameerul Momineen
Ali (a.s.) who, is competent to understand it and to
make other people understand it next to the Holy
Prophet (s.a.). In other words, the place for the
revelation of the Holy Quran is the bosom of the Holy
Prophet (s.a.w.a.). Mastery of the Holy Quran is with
Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.), while after him the
understanding of the Holy Quran is with Ali (a.s.). It is
for this reason that Ali (a.s.) enjoys the status of the
Eloquent Quran.
(vi) The verses of chapter Al-Hamd advert to Paradise as
well as to Hell.
(vii) They also advert to heavenly reward as well as to
chastisements, to merit as also to torment.
In this part of his prophecy, Prophet Yusuf (a.s.) has expressed
the meaning of the whole of’ the chapter Al-Hamd. And it is
expressed thus.
To be engaged in the glorification of the Lord of the universes
in a spirit of gratefulness is the moans to the attainment of
Paradise and to heavenly reward. Ingratitude and disrespectful
attitude to the Almighty Allah leads one to the torment of Hell.
FATOOHA 101
Belief and convictions in the Mercy and Compassion of the
Almighty Allah entitle one to the entry into Paradise and the
enjoyment of the Divine bounties. Not to believe in His
attributes of Benevolence (as Giver even without being asked)
and Beneficence (as Giver when asked) makes one fit for Hell
and its torment.
Belief in the Day of Judgment and in the Almighty Allah as ‘the
Lord of the Day of Judgment, is the sine qua non of the
blessing of Paradise, while the denial thereof is the sure cause
of Hell torment.
Worship of the Almighty Allah and the obedience in practical
living to Him, as also seeking help from Him directly and
indirectly brings in for one the boons of the celestial heavens,
On the other hand failure and negligence of worship for Him
and denying Him the status as the One single supreme
sovereign worthy of our adoration and as our one Sustainer
and Helper, drives one to the abysm of Hell torment. To follow
the Right Path of the Infallible Favorites (a.s.) of the Almighty
Allah and of those who were blessed with His bounties,
prepares one for the attainment of Divine Pleasure and the
gaining of Paradise. To move in the footsteps of the enemies of
the favored ones of the Almighty Allah and of the foes of the
right religion like the accursed devils, thereby stumbling at
every step, throws out into Hell fire. Following the leadership
of those who are the targets of the wrath of the Almighty Allah
and His Messenger (s.a.) and those who get astray, as if they
are rightly guided, befit one for the blazing flames of the Hell.
102 FATOOHA
On the other hand avoiding their lead at all costs is the sure
cause of gaining the Divine Pleasure and the pleasure of the
Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and as a result obtaining the bounties
of Paradise. So is it an act of great good merit to recite the
Chapter Al-Hamd and the word of the Almighty Allah trying to
understand its meanings and to translate the commands
thereof into actual practice deserving of heavenly reward.
While disdaining even to touch the Book, and if at all reciting it,
doing so as only a matter of formality without taking any hint
there from for guidance in actual conduct and denying to act in
accordance therewith, is the sure path to Hell torment. It is as
such that it has been laid in the Book of Prophet Musa (a.s.).
So it shall be that anyone, who does not pay heed to
what he says in my name, him shall I call to a
reckoning.
Even more stern than this is the warning served by the Bible in
the following strain:
Give your ear to what he says, and so it shall be that
anyone who does not pay heed to what that Prophet
(s.a.) says, he shall be destroyed from among the
Ummat.
The Bible, according to St. John, is even more explicit about
the meanings of ‘Ehdenas Seraatal Mustaqeem’ ( ! " # $ & ') (Guide us O Lord on the Right Path.) How beautiful are the
words.
When that spirit of truth comes he shall show you
FATOOHA 103
the Path of Truth in its entirety.
(viii) It is a wonderful thing, a marvelous miracle of the
Companion (a.s.) of the Prophet (s.a.).
He is Muhammad (s.a.w.a.), who is the very soul of truth. He
acquaints mankind with Hell and Heavens, with heavenly
reward and chastisement, with acts meriting heavenly bliss
and those meriting Hell torment. He speaks in the name of the
Almighty Allah. With him is his companion, his Deputy and his
vizier – the Eloquent Quran – Ali (a.s.).
Prophet Yusuf (a.s.) speaks of them both together in his tidings
of good luck. Both of them Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) and
Ali (a.s.) are spoken together. both are meant together even
when only one of them is mentioned. The two of them are the
same as has been said.
Your flesh is my flesh. Your body is my body. Your soul is my
soul. Your blood is my blood. Your Light is my fight and so on.
What a wonderful vista of life!
The Almighty Allah speaks through the tongue of
Muhammad (s.a.w.a.).
Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) speaks through the medium
of Allah the Almighty.
The Almighty Allah speaks through the tongue of Ali
(a.s.).
Ali (a.s.) speaks through the medium of Allah, the
Almighty.
104 FATOOHA
And Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) speaks through the
tongue of Ali (a.s.).
Ali (a.s.) speaks through the tongue of Muhammad
(s.a.w.a.).
Still greater is the wonder in that all the prophets have always
used the accent of Hazrat Ali (a.s.) in their expression of truth
– in prool of the oneness of the Almighty Allah – in the
propagation of the Word of the Almighty Allah. The prophets
of yore from Adam (a.s.) down to Eesaa (a.s.), did not win the
attention of anyone, unless they spoke in the accent of Ali (a.s.).
Their speech did not make any impression on mens minds.
In case anyone does not believe it, it is open to his. But what
when the Holy Quran supplies the proof therefore? One is
expelled from the fold of Islam; if one denies the words of that
book. Is there anything out of place if one gives ear to the
Quranic words? Says the Holy Quran:
And granted we to them of our mercy and assigned
to them a tongue of truthfulness, by way of Ali.1
Glory be to the Almighty Allah! How eloquent are the words!
The Almighty Allah has made the grandeur of His name-sake
manifest. So according to the Torah
The abode of a person, not paying heed to the word
of the Almighty Allah, is Hell.
The one, who heeds not the, word of Ali (a.s.), is denying the

FATOOHA 105
word of Muhammad (s.a.w.a.).
In case a person does not give ear to the word of Muhammad
(s.a.w.a.), he is guilty.
He shall be called to the reckoning on the Day of Judgment.
And he shall be destroyed from among the Ummat in this
world.
He is discarded by religion as also by the world.
The soul of truth has come. Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) has come.
So has Ali (a.s.) come.
He has indicated the Path of Truth. Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) and
Ali (a.s.) have provided the guidance to the Right Path,
directing mankind to follow in the foot steps of those who were
favoured the beloved ones of the Almighty Allah the Infallible
one’s, those who disobeyed the Almighty Allah, Prophet
Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) and Ali (a.s.) are the ones meriting the
wrath of the Almighty Allah. They are those who have gone
astray. They are the devils incarnate, the accursed ones. Avoid
them, dissociate yourself from the company of such people.
But alas – and manifold alas! Those blind of heart do not see.
They are deaf, dumb and blind. 1 May the Almighty Allah
shelter us from such attitude.
Let us see what Prophet Yousf (a.s.) says: It is something
wonderful, marvellous miracle of the Prophet (s.a.) and his
companion. It is reference to the same Book of which the
1 Holy Quran, 32:18

beginning is made with the seven verses af the chapter Al-
Hamd. This same has been spoken of as wonderful. Even those
who have not believed in it and those who have declined to
admit the same as the word of the Almighty Allah, are wonder
struck on hearing it, as a matter of fact. They, too, get sunk in
wonder. Ali (a.s.) was once reciting this chapter Al-Hamd. He
repeated each and every word thereof several times. He recited
the same melodiously loving tones. A group of unbelievers
passed by him. How could they escape the noble effect which
the recital of the ‘Ummul Kitab’ and that too, in the accent of
Ali (a.s.) should have exercised over them? They got sunk in
their wonder. They looked at one another as spell bound. One
among them was really a very astute fellow. He addressed the
others saying, ‘Move on, Move on, go away. Mind your own
jobs, lest you get overwhelmed by the bewitching recital by Ali
(a.s.). He is the same Ali (a.s.) whose brother Muhammad
(s.a.w.a.) is a Wizard.’ Similarly, once an unbeliever heard
Abuzar-e-Ghaffari reciting the chapter Fatehatul Kitab. He
began to tremble. Salman recited this same chapter by way of
incantation on a person who bad been stung by a scorpion. He
was at once relieved of his pain. On observing this the
unbelievers were nonplussed. Once Imam Hasan Ibne Ali (a.s.),
the second Imam, was reciting this wonderful prayer when
non-believer’s happened to hear the words. His heart began to
palpitate. His eyes got into a fixed stare. On one occasion
Imam Musa Kasim (a.s.) recited only the words Al-Hamdo
Lillahe Rabbil Aalameen (All praise is only for Allah, the Lord
of the worlds). The recital stunned a Jew. Some Christian
FATOOHA 107
asked Imam Hasan Al-Askari (a.s.) as to whether there was
some summary of the Holy Quran as well. His reply was in the
affirmative. He said:
The quintessence of the Holy Quran is the chapter
Al-Hamd.
The christian asked him to recite it for him. Imam (a.s.) started
its recital. The Christan fell in a swoon. He remained in that
state for three days and nights. Did not the polytheists of
Mecca, on seeing the chapter Al-Kausar, proclaim, ‘it is not the
word of any man.’ It was too an expression of their
wonderment and intellectual incapacity on their part. This is as
far as human beings are concerned. Even the genii on hearing
the verses of the Holy Quran got entranced. Allamah Waqidi
has reported of such a spirit, who was a lover of the chapter –
Al-Hamd and of the chapter Kausar. Ibne Jauzi says that a
party of the genii performed their prayer in the lead of
Ameerul Momineen A lbne Abi Talib (a.s.). Of them two were
so enchanted that they could not stand the recital of the verses
of the Holy Quran. They began to stagger like drunkards.
The angels of Heavens too bowed down to the marvel of the
Holy Quran. Whenever the angels of Heaven, got an
opportunity of listening to the recital of the Holy Quran they
would be struck with wonder. As such the prophecy of Prophet
Yusuf (a.s.) is but an expression of truth, when it says:
It (the Book of Allah) is something full of wonder a
marvellous miracle of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.)
and his companion.
108 FATOOHA
The Holy Quran is really something very wonderful. It drives
one into the wonderland of the marvel of every letter thereof. it
is a marvellous piece of a miracle. Even the enemies of Islam
have admitted its pithiness and its marvel. The renegades and
apostates have bowed down to its miraculous position. A few
examples may be cited below:
(1) The Book brought forth by Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) known
as the Quran is a marvel of great wonder. Each and
every verses thereof is full of gnosis. No other book –
Revealed from Heaven or unrevealed can compare with
it.1
(2) The Book that was revealed to the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) of
Arabia contains far superior guidance and light than is
to be found in the Psalms, the Torah and the Evangel. It
is full of all kinds of laws and commandments for the
guidance of matters with religious and mundane.2
(3) It is not possible at all to deny that the Quran revealed
to Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) is not only a miracle of Heaven,
but it is equally a marvellous miracle of the personality
to whom it was revealed.3
(4) Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) is a superb Messenger (s.a.w.a.)
of the Almighty Eeshwar. He should be called the

supreme Guide of the human race. The Book Quran,
which he presented to the world, is a remarkably
marvellous miracle. It has no parallel among all the
sacred books of the world. Shri Guru Nanak Devji.
(5) The Quran, as a matter of fact, contains everything
which man needs (for his guidance). It is an
unparalleled Book of Guidance.1
(6) One is wonder-struck on pondering over the teachings
of Islam. How was the Book revealed to an untutored
Prophet (s.a.). Even a greater wonder lies in the fact that
the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) himself and his companions who
understood the Quran so well, were not formally
educated. May be they were instructed by the Almighty
Allah Himself at their birth. In any case the Quran is
nothing less than a miracle.2
Let us now consider the last wards of the prophecy of Yusuf
(a.s.):
He who studies this Book and heeds the words so as
to act in consonance with the same, shall be
successful.
In this part, it has been clearly laid down that it does not suffic
recite and listen to the Holy Quran. It is binding that one
should act in accordance therewith, for the purpose of the

attainment of salvation and real success. The chapter Al-Hamd
is the Ummul Kitab and Ummul Quran, the soul of the entire
word of the Almighty Allah. As such one should ponder over
the seven verses of this sublime chapter. It is recited in all the
five prayers of the day. It behoves then, that one should
concentrate on meanings steadily in all the five daily prayers.
Each and every word of the same should soak into the very
being of the one who performs the prayers with the
appropriate action in consonance therewith. Of a certainty one
can achieve then the lasting success and salvation.
The spirit of the chapter is condensed in the verse – ‘Ehdenas
Seraatal lazeena Ana’mta A’layhim’
Guide us, (O Lord) on the Right Path, the Path of
those upon whom. ‘You’ have bestowed ‘Your’
bounties.
A person should obey as is appropriate those who were the
beneficiaries of the blessings of prophethood and the blessings
of Imamat. He should follow in their footsteps. He should
entertain cordial love for them. He should consider action in
consonance with their attitude as the way of the Divine Faith
conducive to salvation and lasting success. He it is, who shall
achieve his objectives in this world. For such persons, it has
been given as glad tidings.
Verily Allah has purchased from the faithful their
selves and their properties for theirs in return be the

binding on Him in the Torah and the Evangel and
the Quran; And who is more faithful to his covenant
than Allah? Therefore rejoice you in bargain that
you have transacted and that it is the great
achievement.1
They are those who shall enjoy the bounties of Paradise. The
exegetists of the Holy Quran have duly emphasized this point,
in the interpretation of the verse Ehdenas Seraatal Mustaqeem
( ! " # $ & ') Muslim bin Hayyan says, ‘I have heard from Abu Hurairah as saying: By Seraatal Mustaqeem is meant the
path of Prophet Muhammadur Rasullallah (s.a.w.a.) and of his
Holy Progeny (a.s.). So does Allamah Saeedi say in his Tafseer:
Seraatal Mustaqeem ( ! " # $) means the path of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and of his Holy Progeny implymg Obedience
to and reverence for them.
Reference In Torah
To this points out the reference in the Torah when it says:
So it shall be that I shall call to reckoning any one, who does
not give ear to what he says in My Name.
A warning is served in this behalf namely:
Men should give ear to what he says. And thus it shall be that
anyone who does not give ear to what that Prophet (s.a.w.a.)
says shall be destroyed from among the Ummat.
1 Holy Quran, 9:111
112 FATOOHA
History bears witness that there were men who were the
objects of Divine Wrath. There were those who got astray. They
disobeyed the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) the custodians of the
Imamat. They followed not their path of Guidance. They
walked in the foot steps of the accursed Satan.
They were those wretched fellows who harassed the Holy
Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and his Holy Progeny (a.s.). They subjected
them to torture and tyranny. They used swords and spears
against them. They wounded them. They set fire to their
houses. They laid siege to them. They banned food and water
for them. Shall they too be included among those upon whom
were bestowed Divine bounties? Are they too entitled to
heavenly rewards and eternal success? Never! Never.
History has obliterated all traces of them. True Muslims do not
like even to make mention of their very names. According to
their own way of thinking, they became successful for the time
being but as a matter of fact, they were defeated forever. They
were destroyed from among the Ummat.
The revelation of St. John says:
Their feet were like the pillars of fire.
And the Book of Prophet Moses speaks of him:
‘He has in his right hand the Fiery code for them.’ The
significance thereof is quite obviously expressed. The accursed
ones tried to set fire to the house of the Holy Progeny (a.s.) of
the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.). The misguided fellows set fire to
the tents of the Holy Progeny (a.s.). In this way they were
FATOOHA 113
burnt in the fire of Divine Wrath and the Wrath of the Holy
Prophet (s.a.w.a.). Not a trace of even their ashes was left. They
were the objects of Divine wrath of the Fiery Code and the
pillars of fire here and in the Hereafter of blazing Hell. Another
Revelation of St. John.
Prophecy Of Fatooha In The Evangel
There is found another prophecy – and this too, is connected
with the Revelations of St. John – in the Evangel in respect of
the Fatooha (Fatehah Ummul Quran) of the seven verses.
Says St. John:
I looked and there before my eyes was a door
opened into heaven; and the voice that I had first
heard speaking to me like e trumpet said, ‘come up
here, and I will show you what must happen
hereafter.’ At once I was caught up by the Spirit.
There in heaven stood a throne and on the throne sat
one, as I looked.
I saw in the right hand of the One who sat on the
throne a scroll, with writing inside and out and it
was seated up with seven seals.
So for the Holy Quran and its chapter the Al-Hamd have been
under discussion. In the first part of the Revelation of St. John,
the seven verses of the Al-Fatehah have been represented as
the seven sounds. The Book of Allah, however, is shown to
have been sealed with seven seals. In other words the Book is
114 FATOOHA
complete. It is adorned with the Al-Fatehah. The point worthy
of note is that in the revelation the Divine verses are spoken of
as the roar of the Lion and as the thunder of the cloud, while
now the verses are spoken of as being heard in the sound of a
trumpet (narsingha). And what is a ‘narsingh?’ Do you know?
Perhaps, one may be tempted to understand it as the musical
instrument that is blown in temples and places of worship of
the polytheists. It is however, nothing of that sort. The
Almighty Allah and His Messenger (s.a.w.a.) never
countenanced things or their sounds. Nor is there any latitude
given for their use or sounding the same.
‘Narsingha’ in Hindi is used for the male lion. It is a lion of
dreadfully loud roar powerful, fearless and bold lion. As such,
it was the same Lion, whose roar was heard proclaiming the
seven verses of the Book with seven seals. It was the
‘Narsingha’ which made its appearance in the figure of the
Lion of Allah, the Almighty. The Almighty Allah, had the Book
with Him. The Book was being recited by His Male Lion – the
bravest of the brave – Ameerul Momineen Ali (a.s.).
Prophecy About Martyrdom Of Imam Husain (a.s.)
Now let us study the next part of the Revelation:
I saw standing in the very middle of the throne. Inside the
circle of living creatures and the circle of elders, there was a
Lamb with the marks of slaughter upon him. The Lamb went
up and took the scroll from the right hand of the One who sat
on the throne. When he took it, the four living creatures and
FATOOHA 115
the twenty four elders fell down before the Lamb... They were
singing a new song.
Thou art worthy to take the scroll and to break the seals, for
thou wast slain and by thy blood didst purchase for God, man
of every tribe and language, people and nation.
This part of the revelation of St. John holds within its purview
a number of very wonderful and deep mysteries. The four
living entities mentioned therein are respectively: (i) The Holy
Prophet (s.a.w.a.), (ii) Ali (a.s.) (the Lion of the Almighty
Allah), (iii) Sayyedatunnisa Fatimatuz Zahra (a.s.), (iv)
Hasanal Mujtaba (a.s.) and (v) the slaughtered lamb
represented Sayyedush Shohada, the martyr of Karbala,
Husain Ibne Ali (a.s.). By his martyrdom he gave new life to
the Book of Allah, the Prophethood of Muhammad (s.a.w.a.)
and the eternal Truth of Islam.
In this part of the revelation it has been shown that the
martyred Imam (a.s.) did not leave off the Book of Allah, even
after having been martyred and having been slaughtered.
During the period of this earthly life the Imam used to perform
a thousand rakats of optional prayers (Naafelah) daily at the
minimum count. The chapter Al-Hamd was recited by him in
the performance of these optional prayers, at least two
thousand times. The study of the Holy Quran was in addition
thereto it is a well-know narration that Imam Husain (a.s.)
recited the Holy Quran in its entirety once every day.
Even after having been martyred, lmam (a.s.) maintained his
love for the Holy Quran intact. Recitation of the Holy Quran
116 FATOOHA
had become a usual food for his soul, in the period of his
earthly life. The foremost boon, he received from the Almighty
Allah was the Holy Quran, which was sealed with seven seals –
the Quran of the seven verses. Imam Husain (a.s.) got from the
Author of the Holy Quran, the Book He started the recitation
there and then.
The Book had been sealed with seven seals. It has its essence
condensed in the seven verses of the Chapter Al-Hamd. It was
an occasion for still greater wonder. His four elders were
wondering at the supreme act of his script. At his recitation of
the Holy Quran they marvelled all the more.
And at last, at his grand performance they gave the tidings.
Thou art worthy to take the scroll and to break its seals, for
thou wast slain and hast by thy blood purchased for Go men of
every tribe and language, people and nation.
How did it all come about? By his martyrdom – purchased by
the blood of himself and of his dear and near ones. It was for
this that Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.), Lady Fatemah (a.s.)
and Imam Hasan (a.s.) proclaimed to Imam Husain (a.s.):1
Thou art worthy to take the scroll and to break its
seals.
These words of the said revelation clearly indicate that after his
martyrdom Imam Husain (a.s.) recommenced the recitation of

Testament, Printed in Great Britain – published by the British and

the Book of Allah. He then went aloft on the point of the spear,
breaking all the seven seals of the Holy Quran, he started the
recitation of the verses of the Chapter Al-Hamd.
Imam Husain (a.s.) by being slain, won to himself the virtuous
men of every tribe, every land and every nation. He purchased
the believers. The actual words of the revelation are:
For thou wast slain and by thy blood didst purchase
for God men of every tribe and language, people and
nation.
They point to the Quranic verse to the effect:
Verily God has purchased from the faithful their
‘selves’ and their properties, for theirs (in return) by
Garden (of Paradise); They fight in God’s way and
they slay and are slain. This is a promise binding on
Him in the Torah, Evangel and the Quran and who
is there have faithful to his covenent then God?
Therefore rejoice you in the bargain.1
We have seen two of the parts of the revelation of St. John. Let
us now look to the other two parts thereof.
Says St. John:
Then as I looked I heard the voices of countless
angels. These were all round the throne and the
living creatures and the elders There were, myriads
up on myriads, thousands upon thousands, and they

cried aloud.
Worthy is the lamb, the lamb that was slain, to
receive all power and wealth, wisdom and might,
honour and glory and praise.
Then I heard every created thing in heaven and on
earth and under the earth and in the sea, all that is
in them, crying.
Praise and honour, glory and might to him who sits
on the throne and to the lamb for ever and ever.
The enemies of the Holy Family did their best not to allow the
blessed names of the Holy personages be uttered by the
tongues of men. But who can change the eternal laws of the
Almighty Allah? The devotees and the martyrs in the path of
the Almighty Allah are endowed with eternal life. They may
apparently be screened off from this world. In reality they are
eternally alive. To this does the said revelation refer, when it
says:
Praise and honour, glory and might to Him who is
the throne and to the lamb for ever and ever.
There is no doubt that the son of Lion of Allah, Ali al-Murtaza
(a.s.) namely Imam Husain (a.s.) was endowed with limitless
Divine powers. He performed such deeds of valour in the
battlefield of Karbala as astounded mankind. He cannot be
paid his due tribute in words. It is this same tribute of praise
and glorification paid to the slaughtered lamb that his name is
being exalted to the highest zenith.

This beloved grandson of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.), while
his holy head stood aloft on the point of the spear was reciting
the Quran thereby supplying the proof of this being the
Eloquent Quran.
Those Afflicted With Allah’s Wrath And The
Misguided (Maghzoobe A’layhim ( ع ) And
Zaalleen ( ))1
It is only those people who are further removed from the Right
Path, who stand against the loving reverence for the members
of the Holy family. They are those who have fail to move in the
fort-steps of the beloved ones of the Almighty Allah. They are
among the people who are included in those on whom Divine
Wrath has befallen or those who have gone astray. They are the
inmates of the Hell. It is about such people that the Bible
speaks to the following effect:
There shall be in the later times men who shall make
light of religion. They shall tread the path of lust as a
result of their lack ol faith. They are the people who
set up factious. They are people of profligacy, devoid
of the soul.2
The words of the Bible given above have not been spoken for
nothing. It is an admitted fact that the people who have

followed the Right Path – the reverence for the Holy Prophet
(s.a.w.a.) and his Holy Prophet (a.s.) and who have paid the
dues to the Holy Messenger (s.a.w.a.) of the Almighty Allah, for
his strivings, have in all periods of human history been
exposed to ridicule. And such attitude towards them shall
continue till the Day of Judgment. Are not even today,
subjected to ridicule all those who commemorate the tragic
events of the lives of the Holy Progeny (a.s.) in their mourning
rites? Are not they scoffed at? Over and above the ridicule and
carping heaped on them; they are subjected to torturing in new
ways. The Bible has gone further in pointing out such of the
people on whom Divine Wrath befalls and those who are led
astray. The picture drawn of those who have gone astray in as
follows:
Just as there were false prophets in the Ummat, so
shall there be among you false teachers. They shall
invent ever new neologles of a secretly destructive
type. They shalt deny the Lords. Who had purchased
them. They shall soon cause themselves to be ruined.
Many a people shall follow their lustfulness.
The Path of Truth shall thereby be disgraced. In
their greed they shall so manipulate matters, that
they shall exploit you to their advantage.1
The words of the Bible to the effect:
They shall deny the Lord, who had purchased them;
1 Peter (2), Chapter 2/1-3
FATOOHA 121
These words have clarified the position of those who go
contrary to the purport of sublime Quranic verse to the
following effect:
Verily Allah has purchased from the faithful their
selves and their properties, for their in return be the
gardens of Paradise. They fight in Allah’s way and
your slay and are slain. This is a promise binding on
Him in the Torah, Evangel and the Quran. And who
is there more faithful to his convenant then Allah.
Therefore rejoice you in the bargain that you have
transacted and that it is the great achievement.1
They are those who have forsaken loyalty to the Holy Prophet
(s.a.w.a.) and his Holy Family They have turned themselves
into antagonists so that they care not a whit for the
commandments and laws of the Almighty Allah, His
Messenger (s.a.w.a.) and his near of Kith and Kin.
They recognise not the spirit of truth. They were shown the
Path of Right, but they go away from that straight Path in
favour of the Path of the accursed Satan – the path of those on
whom befalls the wrath of the Almighty Allah and those who
are led stray. Steeped in misguidance they are a slur for the
Religion of Truths. It is about such people that the prophets of
your have prophesied thus:
And so shall it be that anyone who heeds not what he
1 Holy Quran, 9:111
122 FATOOHA
says in My name, I shall call him to the reckoning.1
And so it shall be that anyone who pays no heed to that
Prophet (s.a.w.a.) shall be destroyed from among the Ummat.2
Those who the Lord, who had purchas ed them, shall soon
bring themselves to ruin.3
Even more clearly it has been said:
The people of Nainawah, on the Day of Judgment
shall stand with the people of the age and proclaim
them as guilty.4
The people of Nainawah, in other words those holy souls who
won martyrdom in Karbala shall on the Day of Judgment be
witness to their hard heartedness. Everything shall then
become manifest:
The Day of Judgment is near, O My friend How can
the blood of the slain be concealed. In case the
tongue, of the dagger remains silent, the blots of
blood in the sleeve shall proclaim of the due act.
To impress upon the mind the grand importance of the
sublime verses of the chapter Al-Hamd it has been said:
Then he gave a great shout… The seven thunders
spoke. I was about to write down what the seven

FATOOHA 123
thunders had said, but I heard a voice from heaven
saying:
Seal up what the seven thunders have said do not
write it down.
And it has been said:
I saw standing in the very middle of the throne
inside the circle of living creatures and the circle of
elders, a lamb, with the mark of slaughter upon him.
The lamb went up and took the scroll from the right
hand of the One, who sat on the throne. When he
took it, the four living creatures and the twenty four
elders fell down before the Lamb. They were singing
a new song:
Thou art worthy to take the scroll and to break the
seals. So the slaughtered one is he who was reciting
the chapter Al-Hamd after having won martyrdom.
He was then breaking the seals of the Book of Allah,
the Almighty, by virtue of which he knows
everything. He sees everything, as to who are the
people who have followed the Right Path shown by
his grandfather (s.a.w.a.) his father (a.s.) and he
who have gone astray.
So it has been said:
Behold! He is coming with the clouds. Every one
shall see him and among them those who pierced
him, and all the people of the earth shall lament in
124 FATOOHA
remorse. So it shall be.1
The misguided also recite:
Guide us (O our Lord) to the Right Path; the Path of
those on whom You have bestowed Your bounties.
And yet after reciting and hearing the verses, they do not allow
them to enter the deeper layers of their minds. They hear them
with one ear and cast them out through the other. Would that
they cognised the underlying importance thereof. They would
then avoid associating with and obeying those upon whom the
Divine Wrath falls and those who are led astray.

On a certain occasion the people asked the Holy Prophet
(s.a.w.a.) as to who would carry his standard on the Day of
Judgment. His reply was:
He who carries it in this world – namely Ali bne Abi
Talib (a.s.).
He was asked as to how Ali (a.s.) shall carry the standard of Al-
Hamd? The Prophet (s.a.w.a.) replied:
Behold ! The Almighty Allah has endowed Ali (a.s.)
with special gifts. He is gifted with the same calibre
of patience as myself, along with the comeliness of
Yusuf (a.s.) .Why should he not then be able to carry
my standard?1
The Holy Prophet (a.s.) one day said to Ali (a.s.):
Ali you shall proceed before me on the Day of
Judgment. The standard of Al-Hamd shall be
entrusted to me and I shall give it to you.
According to another narration the Holy Prophet, (s.a.) said:
I shall be entrusted with a standard on the Day of
Judgment, which will be named, the standard of Al-
Hamd. Many people shall long to get the standard
from my hand on the Day just as people did long to
get the standard on the day of Khaibar,
notwithstanding the fact that they shall be at a
distance from me. The standard of Al-Hamd shall,

however, be entrusted only, to the person who got it

Merit Of The Standard Al-Hamd
Let us now speak of the details of the standard of Al-Hamd.
The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) said to Hazrat Ali (a.s.):
Do you know that I shall be foremost to be
summoned on the Day of Judgment? I shall stand on
the right hand side of the Exalted Throne I shall be
then invested with the green cloak of the Paradise.
The other prophets shall follow up, one after the
other. They shall live up in two rows on the right
hand side of the Exalted Throne. They, too, shall be
invested with green cloaks of the Paradise.
Let me also tell you, O Ali (a.s.), that the foremost of
the people to be called to reckoning shall be my
Ummat, on the Day of Judgment.
And let me congratulate you that you shall be the
foremost among the people to the summoned on
account of your nearness of Kinship with me. I shall
make over to you my standard of Al-Hamd. You
walk about between the two rows. Prophet Adam
(a.s.) and all the creatures of Allah, the Almighty,
shall be in the shade of my standard. The head

them shall be in the east. The second one shall be in

134 THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS
The Fruits Of Revelations
The Revelation of Saint John
1. Saint John saw a dream which has been described in the
book of the Bible, ‘Revelation of Saint John’, chapter 12.
It is stated that the dream would materialize during the
Seventy thousand year after Adam.
2. In the beginning of the book it is also written that these
events are bound to happen very shortly. Further it is
written that ‘those who read and hear the words of this
prophecy and abide by them are blessed, for the time is
near.’ Thus after Jesus Christ, such events save the last
Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.), have not
occurred in the life of any one else.
3. The events are reproduced from the ‘Revelation of Saint
John’, Chapter 12 as follows:
i) And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a
woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under
the feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.
ii) And she being with child cried, travailing in birth
and pained to be delivered.
THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS 135
iii) And there appeared another wonder in heaven and
behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and
ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
iv) And his tail drew the third part of the stars of
heaven, and did cast them to the earth; and the
dragon stood before the woman which was ready
to be delivered, to devour her child as it was born.
v) And she brought forth a man child, who was to
rule all nations with rod of iron; and her child was
caught up unto God, and to his throne.
vi) And the woman fled into wilderness, where she
had a place prepared of God that they should feed
her there one thousand two hundred & three score
days.
vii) And there was war in heaven; Michael and his
angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon
fought and his angels.
viii) And prevailed not; neither was there place found
any more in heaven.
ix) And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent,
called the Devil and Satan, which deceived the
whole world; he was cast out into the earth, and
his angels were cast out with him and I heard a
loud voice saying in heaven: Now is come salvation,
and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the
power of his Christ; for the accuse of Our God day
136 THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS
and night.
x) And they overcame him by blood of the Lamb and
by the word of their testimony; and they lived not
their lives into the death.
xi) Therefore rejoice ye heavens, and ye that dwell in
them. Woe to the inhibitors of the earth and of the
sea for the devil is come down unto thee, having
great wrath, because be knows that he has but a
short time.
xii) And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto
the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought
forth the man child.
xiii) And to the woman were given two wings of a great
eagle, that she might fly in the wilderness, into her
place, where she is nourished for a time, and times,
and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
xiv) And the serpent cast out from his mouth water as
a flood after the woman that he might cause her to
be carried away by the flood.
xv) And the earth helped the woman, and the earth
opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood
which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
xvi) And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and
went to make war with the remnant of her seed,
which keep the commandments of God, and have
the testimony of Jesus Christ.
THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS 137
4. Some Muslims interpret the woman ‘Clothed with the
sun and the moon under her feet and upon her head a
crown of twelve stars’ as Hazrat Fatemah Zahra (s.a.).
They say that the crown of twelve stars is befitting this
great lady only, because there are twelve Imams
(Guides), Hazrat Ali (a.s.) is her husband and the first
Imam, and the rest eleven Imams are her sons. The
‘man child’ is Hazrat Imam Mehdi Akheruz-Zaman (a.s.)
whom the enemies of Islam tried to destroy, and has
been made invisible by Allah for a certain definite
period. However further passage from the Revelation
are inadequate to prove this interpretation.
5. The other group of Muslims regards this woman as the
‘Last Nabuwwat’ (Prophethood) signifying Hazrat
Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.). And this appears to be
the correct belief because further passages from the
‘Revelation’ strongly support this explanation. The great
dragon or the old serpent called the Devil and Satan
becomes angry over the woman and devices means and
ways to destroy her. But she is helped by God. The earth
also helped the woman by drinking the water which was
poured out by the serpent. This points out to a very
important personality which has helped the last
prophethood. And that personality is Hazrat Ali (a.s.)
because his appellation is ‘Buturab’ which means ‘earth’.
It is ‘Buturab’ (Ali) who safeguarded the Prophet in the
holy wars when most of his helpers and well wishers
were running away from the battle leaving the prophet
138 THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS
amidst the enemies. And in every hold wars he killed
countless non-believers & enemies of the last prophet.
Had not ‘Buturab’ helped on such delicate occasions, the
prophet would have surely been murdered by the non-
believers, and thus would have been the end of the
prophethood.
6. Coming again to the dream, when the dragon failed to
harm the woman, ‘he went to make war with the
remnant of her seed.’ It is therefore proved that this
woman is prophethood and her first child is prophet.
And that is why Satan is ready to take revenge from her
by trying to destroy her progeny who are the soul of the
prophetbood and who are obedient to God.
7. Further it is written that there was war in heaven
between Michael and Satan, and that Satan was thrown
down & never found place in heaven anymore. In
Islamic world it is universally talked about that before
the birth of the last prophet, Satan used to go to Heaven
regularly to hear the conversation of Angels and on his
return to earth used to preach the same to people.
Through this source people used to foretell events to
others. But on the day of the birth of the prophet
Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.), going of Satan to heaven
was stopped and angels were appointed to beat and
throw him down in case he goes again.
8. Thus it is obvious that Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.) is
the last Prophet and His Prophethood has been
THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS 139
described as salvation, strength and the kingdom of God.
9. ‘The Satan went to make war with the remnant of her
progeny.’ This shows that even after the prophet the
Satan would continue to oppose the Vicegerent.
10. The claim that Jesus Christ is the last prophet and that
there has been no prophet after him, is absolutely
baseless because the Revelation of St. John does not
pertain to the ‘past’ prophet but relates to the ‘future’ or
‘would be coming’ prophet. Apart from this in the
ancient books it is clearly revealed that after Jesus
Christ there will be another person who will be the last
Prophet.
11. The following verses taken from the Book of Bible, ‘St.
John,’ Chapter 1, Verses 19 to 25 will clarify this point:
And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent
priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, who
art thou? And he confessed and denied not but
confessed, I am not the Christ. And they asked him,
what then? Art thou Elias? And he sayest, I am not.
Art thou that Prophet? And he answered, No. Then
said they unto him, who art thou? That we may give
an answer to them that sent us, what sayest thou of
thyself? He said, I am the voice of one crying in the
wilderness. Make straight the way of the Lord, as
said the prophet Esaias (Jesus). And they which
were sent were of the pharisees. And they asked him,
and said unto him, why baptizest thou then, if thou
140 THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS
be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
12. From these verses of St. John, it appears that prior to
the period of Jesus Christ, Jews were waiting for three
persons, namely Jesus Christ, Elias, and ‘that’ prophet
whose name is not mentioned but simply has been
addressed as ‘that prophet.’ It shows that the ‘would be
coming’ prophet commands a very high position and as
a mark of respect, his name has not been uttered. And
he is so well known that there is no need of mentioning
his name. Simply addressing him as ‘that’ prophet is
enough for others to understand. That prophet
therefore, is none other than Hazrat Muhammad
Mustafa (s.a.w.a.). Elias is Hazrat Ali who is the
Vicegent and the first Imam (Guide). As such Jesus
Christ is not the last prophet as claimed by Christians.
13. Now let us see the prophets who came after Moses (a.s.).
The history reveals that after Moses (a.s.), Elias and
‘that’ prophet did not come. Instead, came Jesus Christ
(a.s.). After Jesus Christ (a.s.) came Hazrat Muhammad
Mustafa (s.a.w.a.) and Ali (Elias) (a.s.) the Vicegerent
and Imam (Guide of Muslims).
14. In the book of the Bible, ‘St. John’ chapter 16, verses 5
to 14 Jesus Christ Himself had said that after him one
more Prophet is to come. An extract is reproduced as
below:
But now I go any way to Him that sent me; and
none of you asketh me, whither goest thou? But
THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS 141
because I have said these things unto you, sorrow
hat filled your heart. Nevertheless I tell you the truth;
It is expedient for you that I go away for if I go not
away, the comforter will not come unto you, but if I
depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is
come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of
righteousness, and of judgement: Of sin because
they believe not on me; Of righteiousness, because I
go to my father, and ye see me no more; Of
Judgement because the prince of this world is judged.
I have yet many things to say unto you but ye
cannot hear them now. How be it when he, the spirit
of truth, is come? He will guide you into all truth;
for he shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he
shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you
things to come. He shall glorify me; for he shall
receive of mine and shall shew it unto you.
15. From the above messages which Jesus Christ (a.s.)
delivered to his followers, it is crystal clear that a person
who occupies a better position than Jesus Christ (a.s.) is
to come. Because He will be able to reprove the world of
sin kind righteousness. He will guide the world on the
right path. He will not speak anythiag of his own, but
whatsoever commandments are revealed to him by God,
he will deliver to his followers. This shows that the
religion which Jesus Christ (a.s.) preached to his
followers was to be completed by another prophet who
received commands of God. Since He will liberate the
142 THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS
world from sin, and wilt guide the world on the right
path and will complete the messages left over by Jesus
Christ (a.s.) he will certainly be the ‘last Prophet’ life
will be the last because there is no further need of a
prophet after all the Messages of God are delivered to
thc people.
16. The messages of Christ (a.s.) explained above are
applicable only to Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.) for he
came after Jesus Christ (a.s.). And he is the prophet who
glorified the preachings of Christ (a.s.) to the people and
also received ‘Holy Quran’ from God through Angel. It is
therefore obvious that Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.) is
the last Prophet of God.
17. In support of the above interpretations some more
passages from the Book of the Bible ‘The Acts’, Chapter
3, Verses 19 to 26, are presented as follows:
Repent ye therefore and he converted that your sins
may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing
shall come from the presence of the Lord; And he
shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached
unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the
times of restitution of all things, which God hath
spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since
the world began. For Moses truly said unto the
fathers. A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up
unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye
hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS 143
And it shall come to pass, that every soul which will
not hear that Prophet, shall be destroyed from
among the people. Yea and all the prophets from
Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have
spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. Ye are
the children of the prophets and of the covenant
which God made with our fathers, saying unto
Abraham, and in thy seed shall all the kindred of the
earth be based. Unto you, First God, having raised
up his son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning
away every one of you from his inequities.
18. It is evident now that after Jesus Christ (a.s.), another
prophet whose prophethood is ‘more refreshing’ is
destined to come. And during his time Jesus Christ (a.s.)
will come from the heaven again to earth.
19. The prophet who will come after Christ (a.s.) will be like
Moses(a.s.). It may be pointed out here that
Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.) in the Hadith ‘Manzelat’,
has described himself ‘like Moses’. No other prophet has
mentioned these specific words. It confirms that
Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.) is the prophet to come
after Jesus Christ (a.s.).
20. Unto Abraham and in thy seed shall all the kindred of
the earth be based. This sentence reveals that prophet
who will come after Christ, will be the last prophet, and
all the people of the world will be benefitted by his
preaching. It may also be said of this sentence that the
144 THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS
prophet will be from the progeny of Abraham. This is
the only reason why the followers of Christianity regard
Jesus Christ as the last prophet, and say that Mary was
from the same race to which Abraham belonged.
21. The claim of Christian that Jesus Christ was from the
descendants of Abraham and that he was a prophet is
logical. But the last line, ‘Unto you first, God having
raised up his son Jesus, set him to bless you’ speaks
against, the claim of Christians. The word ‘first’ signifies
that first Christ was sent by God, and after him another
prophet is to come. If it is not so, then the word ‘first’
will be meaningless and of no use here. Mary belonged
to the race of Isaac, and was not a descendant of Ismail.
The covenant will of God is to send prophet from the
progeny of Ismail and that he will be born in ‘Paran’ and
Paran is Mecca. Beside this prophet, there will be born
twelve princes who will also be the progeny of Ismail.
These princes will guide the people. These attributes are
not found in Jesus Christ. Neither he is a progeny of
Ismail nor there were born twelve princes of the
progeny of Isaac, nor was he born in ‘Paran’. Instead,
Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.) is of the progeny of
Ismail who was born in Paran (Mecca), and has twelve
deputies (Princes who are also of the progeny of Ismail
(vide ‘Genesis’ Chapter, 17, verses 20 to 22).
22. And as for Ismail, I have heard thee: Behold, I have
blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will
THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS 145
multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall be beget.
and I will make him a great nation. But my covenant
will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto
thee at this set time in the next year.
23. The above forecast proves that the event will occur after
Ismail and the history reveals that these events did not
happen till the time of Jesus Christ. The prophethood of
Jesus Christ was prior to the prophethood of the
progeny of Ismail.
24. Further the book of ‘Genesis’ Chapter 21, Verse 21,
reveals that Ismail lived in Paran. Please read verses 14
to 21, given below.
25. And Abraham rose up early the morning, and took
bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar,
putting it on ‘her shoulder and the child, and sent her
away: and she departed, and wandered in the
wilderness of Beer Sheba. And the water was spent in
the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the
shrubs. And she went and sat her down over against
him a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said
let me not see the death of the child. And she sat ever
against him and lift up her voice and wept. And God
heard the voice of the lad; and the angel God called to
Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, what ailed,
thee, Hagar? Fear not; for God hath heard the voice of
the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him
a great nation. And God opened her eyes, and she saw
146 THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS
a well of water; and she went; and filled the bottle with
water and gave the lad drink. And God was with the
lad; and he grew and dwelt in the wilderness, and
became anchor. And he dwelt in the wilderness of
Paran and his mother took him a wife out of the land of
Egypt.
26. These all events show that Ismail lived in Paran (Mecca)
and married an Egyptian woman. The message which
Moses (a.s.) delivered to the progeny of Israel that God
will send a prophet like him from among them is as
follows:1
27. The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet
from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me;
unto him ye shall hearken. According to all that thou
desiredst of the lord thy God in Hoerb in the day of the
assembly, saying let me not hear again the voice of the
Lord my God, neither let me see this great fire any
more, that I die not. And the Lord said unto me, they
have well spoken that which they have spoken. I will
raise unto them a prophet from among their brethren,
like unto thee and will put my words in his mouth, and
he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
And it shall come to pass that whosoever will not
hearken unto my words which he speaks in my name, I
will require it of him.2
1 Vide Deuteronomy, Chapter 18, Verses 15 to 19 2 Further see Deuteronomy, Chapter 33, verses 1 to 3
THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS 147
28. And this is the blessing, where with Moses the man of
God blessed the children of Israel before his death. And
he said: The Lord came from Sinai, and rose up from
Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran and
he came with ten thousands of saints from his right
hand went a fiery law for them. Yea, he loved the
people; all his saints are in thy hand and they sat down
at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.
29. These two forecasts of Moses (a.s.) predict that a
prophet is to come. The first forecast reveals that the
prophet will come for the children of Israel and that he
will be one of their brothers. He will be like Moses (a.s.).
As Moses (a.s.) had a deputy named ‘Haroon (a.s.)’
similarly Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.) had a deputy
named Ali (a.s.). This resemblance has been mentioned
by Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.) in his tradition. As
Moses (a.s.) had to make wars with the enemies.
Similarly, Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.) had to make
wars (Jehad) with the enemies of Islam.
30. All these predictions of Moses are applicable to
Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.), and therefore it is
proved that he is the last prophet similar to Moses (a.s.),
born in Paran (Mecca) of the progeny of Ismail.
31. Further in the book ‘Isaiah’ mention of some attributes
of a prophet who will be born in Kedar has been made.1
1 Vide chapter 42, Verses 1 to 4
148 THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS
32. Behold my servant, who I uphold; mine elect, in whom
my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him he
shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not
cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the
street. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the
smoking flax shall he not quench he shall bring forth
judgment unto earth. He shall not fail nor be
discouraged, till he has set judgement in the earth and
the isles shall wait for his law.1
33. Sing unto the Lord a new song and his praise from the
end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all
that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.
Let the wilderness thereof lit up their voice; the villages
that Kedar doth inhabit; let the inhabitants bf the rock
sing, let them start from the top of the mountains. Let
them give glory unto the Lord, and declare his praise
into the islands. The Lord shall go forth as a mighty
man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war he
shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his
enemies. I have long time holden my peace; I have been
still and refrained myself, now will I cry like a
travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.
34. These attributes recorded in book of Isaiah have not
been found in any prophet save the last prophet
Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.). He is from the progeny
of Kedar and Kedar was son of Ismail a resident of
1 Vide chapter 42, verses 10 to 14
THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS 149
Paran (Mecca). He made war with enemies of Islam.
35. If someone puts forward a theory that Moses also had to
fight with his enemies and as such these predictions are
about him. We agree, but then Moses was not born in
Paran, nor was he a descendant of Ismail.
36. It is therefore prone beyond doubt that these
predictions are about Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.).
37. Further please see ‘Daniel’, Chapter 11, verses 3 to 4:
And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule
with great dominion, and do according to his will.
And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be
broken and shall be divided towards the four winds
of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to
his dominion which he ruled for his kingdom shall be
plucked, even for others beside those.
38. This prediction is self explanatory. There can not be any
king mightier than Muhammad Mutafa (s.a.) who ruled
with great dominion according to his will. In the face of
tremendous opposition, he triumphed and prevailed,
and obeyed the commands of God, and delivered them
to the people. So long as he survived no one dared to
malignant him though there were many hypocrites who
resented him secretly. They had kept their services at
the disposal of the Prophet all the time but in their heart
of heart, were waiting for the occasion to harm him. And
because of these hypocrites, his kingdom was divided
150 THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS
and did not go to Ahle Bait (a.s.) (Members of progeny
of the house of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.)), who had the sole
right to inherit it. They modified the covenant and Holy
orders of Prophet with their vested interests to rule the
dominion. And till today the descendants of this Great
King, are denied of their rights. Symbol of their
Kingdom is with others and his enemies are ruling their
dominion.
39. All these predictions have been applicable to
Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.) and events have
occurred in History. It is established beyond doubt that
after Jesus Christ (a.s.), Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.),
was the last prophet of God.
40. Solomon in his book, ‘Song of Solomon’ has also
described Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.), and has even
mentioned his name. An extract is given below: -
(His height is like ‘Saru’)
(Mar-e-hukallebanoon) (Trce)
(His face is like full Moon)
(Bahurka razeem)
(His voice is very sweet)
(Hekkoomumtaqqeem)
(And He is Muhammad)
(Wa kulloo Muhammadeem)
THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS 151
41. Those have translated the book, ‘Song of Solomon’ in
other languages have also translated the name of the
prophet (Muhammad) together with the verse.
Therefore those who read the translation are not able to
make out the name of the Prophet (Muhammad).
However in the books written in the original Israily
(Ibrani) language, one can make out the name distinctly.
In the above lines, Solomon has written the name of the
prophet Muhammad as ‘Muhammadeem’ because in
Ibrani language with the names of elderly persons ‘Ya’
and ‘Meem’ are usually suffixed as a mark of respect e.g.
Abraham and Baal become Abraheem and Baaleem
respectively.
Prophecy in Holy Books of Hindus
42. Not only Bible but the holy books of Hindus too are full
of praises and predictions about the prophet
Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.).
43. In the book ‘Pothi Ram Sing Ram’,1 Khand 12, Kandi 6,
Maharaj Vyas writes as follows:
i) Chaupai I2 (Bihsundji says to Garudji)
How I will not favour anyone. Whatever is written

that I will say.
ii) Chaupai II
‘From now onward up to ten thousand years,
Vicegerency will be among commoners. But after
that no one can get this honour.
Perhaps Vyasji predicted it ten thousand years prior to Prophet
Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.). History proves that Vyasji
belonged to Jinn1 (Genii) community and existed before Adam.
iii) Chaupai III

All these predictions in clear words from beginning to end are
about Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.). They have not been
applicable to any other person, nor there can be any objection
from Hindus regarding its consistency.
44. The question arises why Hindus do not become
Muslims when such prophecies are found in their books.
There are several factors and the main factor is that
most Hindus are unaware of what is written in Vedas
and Purans. The knowledge of these books are mostly
limited to Brahmins (Pandits) who do not reveal it to
people, fearing that it may rob them of their profession.
45. In the holy books of Hindus, mention of coming of ten
prophets has been made. So far nine have come and the
tenth is awaited by Hindus. The name which is ascribed
to this Tenth Prophet is ‘Kalki Avatar’ (Kalki Prophet).
Descriptions and symptoms which are found in the
books exactly coincide with those of Muhammad
Mustafa (s.a.w.a.).
46. Kalki Puran is one of the holy books of Hindus. It is
written in this book that the reason why this prophet
will be known as ‘Kalki’ Avatar, is that he will remove
Kalki (Rust and darkness), from the hearts of the people,
and will prevail over all the artifices.
156 THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS
47. It is also written that people of his community will be
worshippers of God.
48. The name of the father of Kalki Prophet is written as
‘Vishnuais’ a combination of two words, Vishnu – God,
and ais – servant, both put together mean ‘Servant of
God.’ This also is the meaning of Abdullah – the name
of the father of Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.).
49. The name of Kalki prophet’s mother is ‘Somti’ which
means ‘Trustworthy and the name of Prophet
Muhammad’s mother is ‘Aamena’ which also means
‘Trustworthy’.
50. Further it is written that Kalki prophet will have three
brothers, named ‘Kavi’, ‘Samat’ and ‘Parak’.
i) Kavi means ‘wise’ and same is the meaning of
Aqeel.
ii) ‘Samat’ means ‘Knowledge’ and same is the
meaning of ‘Ja’far’.
iii) ‘Parak’ means ‘One who commands High Position’
and same is the meaning of ‘Ali’.
51. Aqeel, Ja’far and Ali, are three (cousin) brothers of
Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.).
52. The birth-place of Kalki prophet is mentioned as
‘Shambhal Nagari’ – a name given to the city of Arab.
Arab continent is known as ‘Shambhal Deep’.
‘Shambhal’ is a variety of cotton produced in Arabian
THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS 157
countries. Even today Egyptian cotton is well known in
the world for its long lustrous and superior staples.
53. Regarding Kalki prophet, it is also written that he will
worship in cave. It is well know in Islamic world that
Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.) got his first ‘Revelation’
in the cave of Mount Hira – a desert hill and his chosen
place of retreat near Mecca.
54. Further in ‘Kalki Puran’, it is written that he will receive
education through ‘Prash Ram’ which means ‘Soul of
God.’ It is well known by all Muslims that it was the
Angel Gabriel who brought the first ‘revelation to
prophet Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.) in the cave of
Mount Hira.
55. Further it is written that Kalki prophet will marry the
daughter of the King of Shanbhal Deep. Thus prophet
Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) married the wealthiest woman of
Arab named Khadijah.
56. It is also written that Kalki prophet will migrate to the
hills of North. Thus on the command of God, prophet
Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.) had to migrate from
Mecca to Madinah which is in the North.
57. Further it is written that Kalki prophet will praise all
pious people. Thus, Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.) has
praised and described qualities of all the prophets
including angels. The Kalki Puran further reveals that
after Kalki prophet, his symptoms will reappear again at
158 THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS
the end.
58. This prediction relates to the Imam (Guide) Mahdi
Akheruz Zaman, who is made invisible by God, and will
reappear one day by banishing infidelity and blasphemy
and will revive and spread Islam throughout the world.
59. The author of the book ‘Basharat Ahmadi’ refers to a
person described in ‘Dabistan-e-Mazahib’, named
Shaikh Bahavan, a convert from Atharva Vedi Hindu,
who went to see Akbar, the Great Mugal King. The man
had in his possession some scripts taken from ‘Atharva
Veda’, by which he had convinced Brahmins that those
who did not read that script would not get deliverance.
60. Hindus call this script as ‘Ann’, and is given as follows
La illaha harni papan, Illal Ia ha param padam
janani baikunth Birap neoti tujni naarn
Muhammadam’.
Meaning: Recitation of ‘La ilaha’ liberates us from
our sins. Recitation of ‘Illallah’ brings mercy. If you
want heaven forever, then recite the name of
Muhammad.
61. Moulvi Abdul Aziz Lucknowi in the book ‘Basharate
Ahmadi’ refers to one Maulvi Saifullah Gorakhpuri. who
met a Brahman, who had embraced Islam. He claimed
that mention of prophet Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.)
has been made in the 4th Veda, in which Ramchandraji
has given complete description of the prophet including
THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS 159
his birth place, appearances and other characteristics.
The name of the prophet written in this Veda is as
Muhammad (Muhammad).
62. In the above book reference has also been made to
Maulana Abdul Rahman Chishti, who has depicted in
his book a conversation between ‘Mahadeo’ and
‘Parvati’ recorded by ‘Bashisht Muni.’
63. Mahadeo while talking to Parvati about Adam and his
progeny, had predicted the coming of prophet
Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.).
64. Vyasji in his book, ‘Bhuanth Uttar Puran’ has also
described symptoms which have come true on prophet
Muhammad (s.a.w.a.). He has written his name as
‘Mahamat’ and has further clarified that his followers
would call Him ‘Muhammad’.
Prophecy of Mahadeo on Mount Kailash
65. As recorded by Bashisht Muni.
Mahadeoji (To Parvati): O Parvati! By the
command of that Om the angel whose name is
Dakdod will take away to heaven, souls of the son
born of Mahamat’s wife. The hands of Jam (Angel of
Death) will not reach to the holy bodies of those boys.
After that ‘that Omnipotent’ who is uncomparable,
will bless Mahamat with a daughter who will be
better than thousand daughters put together. And
160 THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS
she will be perfect in worship of God. She will never
speak untrue. She will be infallible. She will get close
to God with the help of her father. Both will be
marvellous and beautiful. Both will be loved by God.
Both will possess tremendous power. Both will be
courageous and gallant and will be recognisers of
God. All will be uncomparable in doing good deed.
And That Omnipotent, Who is uncomparable, will
not create after them any man possessing open and
hidden artifices equal to them And those sons of
Mahamat will be His heirs They will have many
children who with their true logic, will attract
people to the religion of Mahamat day by day. And
will glorify the religion of Mahamat. And Mahamat
will love them more than the entire community and
even his daughter. They will be perfect in the
religion of Mahamat. They will not perform any
work to please their own hearts, and all their actions
and promises, will be according to the will of ‘that
Omnipotent.’ They will always seek work of God. O
Parvati! Within a few rears after the death of
Mahamat, some nasty minded people will unjustly
cause sufferings and murder to his both grandsons
for the sake of the world. And on their death, the
entire world will be headless. Their killer will
become without religion and will neither get reward
in this world nor in heaven. Their hearts will become
devoid of love for Mahamat. And at the end, at any
THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS 161
cost, will not get deliverance from the hell.
Outwardly, they will include themselves in the
religion of Mahamat. And slowly other people will
also accept their company. And will adopt many
things against the character of Mahamat and
Mahamat’s children. And those who will follow the
path of Mahamat’s children will be comparatively in
small number. Majority of people will be in the
group of their killer. Outwardly they will call
themselves friends of Mahamat. And at the end of
the period of ‘Kalyug’ such outwardly hypocrites will
be in large number and will create trouble in the
entire world.
66. It may be noted here that Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.)
had two sons who died in their early ages and the only
daughter named Fatemah Zahra (a.s.) remained alive.
This most pious and virtuous lady is declared to be the
leader of womankind of all times, in the Islamic world
Imam Hasan (a.s.) and Imam Husain (a.s.) were the two
sons or grandsons of prophet Muhammad (s.a.). They
were murdered by Arab and the tragedy of Karbala is
well known. In brief the prophecy of Mahadeo has come
cent percent true about prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.)
and his progeny.
Chapter Two
1. It has already been proved that the women described in
162 THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS
the ‘Revelation of St. John,’ Chapter 12, Verses 1 & 2, is
the last prophet. It has also been proved that her first
man child is Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.). The sun
which serves as a cloth of the women is also symbolic of
Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.).
2. It is the belief of the followers of Islam, that the sun
which St. John dreamt, is the same sun which has been
named in the book of Malachi as the ‘Sun of
Righteousness.’ In the same book it has also been called
as the Messenger of the covenant.
3. Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare
the way before me and the Lord, whom Ye seek, shall
suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the
covenant, whom Ye delight in, behold, he shall come,
sayeth the Lord of hosts.1
4. Again vide infra ‘Malachi’, Chapter 4, verses 1 to 3.
5. For behold the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven;
and all the proud, ye, and all that do wickedly, shall be
stubble and the day that cometh shall burn them up,
sayeth the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither
root nor branch. But unto ye that fear my name shall
the sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings;
and ye shall go forth and grow up as calves of the stall.
And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be
ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall
1 Vide infra ‘Malachi’, Chapter 3, Verse 1
THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS 163
do this, sayeth the Lord of hosts.
6. It is therefore evident that the sun is a symbolic of
Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.) who also is the
messenger of the covenant.
7. Explanation:
Now it is to be understood that the woman symbolises the last
prophethood, the sun represents Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.)
the moon represents Fatemah Zehra (a.s.) and the Twelve
Stars beneath the sun symbolises Twelve Deputies of the
Prophet (Imams all making a total of the ‘Fourteen Infallibles’
(Ma’soomeen). They are called infallible because in the
‘Revelation’ Chapter 12, Verse 17, it is written, that the
remnant progeny of this woman are the keeper of the
commandments of God. Another characteristics of the
remnant progeny of this woman is that they have the testimony
Jesus Christ. And this testimony is described in the
‘Revelation’, Chapter 19, Verses 10 to 11, which says that the
testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. The spirit of
prophecy means the ‘knowledge’ of God, which God revealed to
the prophet for the guidance of people. It means that although
they (remnant of seed of the woman) are not prophet, they are
deputies of the prophet by the virtues of possessing all the
knowledge revealed to prophet, by God.
8. Prophecy Regarding Sayyadush Shohada (Imam Husain
[a.s.])
Vide infra ‘Isaiah’, chapter 53:
164 THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS
Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the
arm of the Lord revealed? For he shall grow up
before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a
dry ground he hath no form nor comeliness; and
when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we
should desire him. He is despised and rejected of
men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief;
and we hid as if it were our faces from him; he was
despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath
born our grieves, and carried our sorrows. Yet we
did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and
afflicted. But he was wounded for our
transgressions he was bruised for our inequities, the
chastisement of our piece was upon him; and with
his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have
gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own
way; and the Lord hath laid on him the inequity of
us all. He was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he
opened not his mouth, he is brought as a lamb to the
slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearer is dumb,
so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from
prison and from judgement; and who shall declare
his generation? For he was cut off, out of the land of
living for the transgression of my people was he
stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked,
and with the right in his death, because be had done
no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet
it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he had put him to
THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS 165
grief when thou shalt make his soul an offering for
sin, he shall set his seed, he shall prolong his days,
and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his
hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall
be satisfied by his knowledge, shall my righteous
servant justify many; or he shall bear their
inequities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with
the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the
strong, because he hath paired out his soul unto
death and he was numbered with the transgressors,
and he bore the sin of many and made intercession
for the transgressors.
9. Explanation: The above chapter taken from the book
‘Isaiah’ shows that these symptoms pertain to a very
grief stricken person. Christians believe that this
chapter relates to Jesus and Muslims believe that it
pertains to Imam Husain (a.s.) the grandson of Prophet
Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.a.).
10. However when the content of the chapter is considered
in all its aspects, the misunderstanding will be removed.
11. ‘He believed in the messages of the prophet and the arm
of the Lord was revealed to him.’ This shows that ‘he’ is
very close to God. He shall grow up before him as a
tender plant and as a root out of a dry ground – this
signifies that he was born in Yasrab (Medina) a dry land
of Arab of the prophethood of Muhammad Mustafa
(s.a.w.a.). Another explanation of this is that the tender
166 THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS
plant grows up out of root which is dry and is devoid of
milk. It may be said here that the name of the mother of
Imam Husain (a.s.) is ‘Fatemah’ which means a woman
who does not possess milk. It is therefore obvious that
‘he’ is the son of Fatemah.
12. He is despised and rejected of man; a men of sorrows,
and acquainted with grief – this line is self explanatory
and the tragedy of Karbala is well know in the Islamic
world. Thus an Urdu poet writes:
Adam Safiullah se Ta i’siye dauran,
Aisi na luti thi koi sarkar Husaina
(From Adam (a.s.) the Pious, till Jesus Christ (a.s.)
never was anyone so robbed (humiliated) as
Husain).
13. The murder of Imam Husain (a.s.) is predicted in clear
words in the book of Jeremia, Chapter 46, Verse 10 and
is as follows:
For this is the day of the Lord God of hosts, a day of
Vengeance, that he may avenge him of his
adversaries and the sword shall devour, and it shall
be satiate and mad drunk with their blood; for the
Lord God of hosts bath a sacrifice in north country
by the river Euphrates.
14. It is Imam Husain (a.s.) who was sacrificed like a lamb
on the bank of the river Euphrates and no other prophet
was sacrificed on the bank of this river.
THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS 167
15. Since this sacrifice is for the God of hosts; it is certainly
a great event.
16. And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying, also on the
Tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of
atonement; it shall be on holy convocation unto you;
and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering
made by fire unto the Lord. And ye shall do no work in
that same day; for it is a day of atonement, to make
atonement for you before the Lord our God. For
whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that
same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.
And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that
same day the same soul will I destroy from among his
People. Ye shall do no manner of work it shall be a
salute forever through out your generations in all your
dwellings. It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye
shall afflict your souls; in the month day of the month
at even from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your
sabbath.1
17. These all relate to the observance of the tenth day
(Ashura) of the Arabic month of Muharram and need no
further explanation. However one may ask that
Muharram is the first month and not the seventh month
of the year. It be said here that according to ‘Hijra’
Muharram is the first month but from the time the
above observance, was revealed to Moses, it was the
1 Vide infra ‘Leviticus’, Chapter 23, Verses 26 to 32.
168 THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS
seventh month. There is no difference of opinion over
this issue. Muharram can be proved as the seventh
month by the Islamic method. The Be’sat (the first
revelation) was during the month of Rajab which if
taken as the first month, Muharram will be the seventh
month. Thus by both the calculations it is proved that
Muharram could be the seventh month.
18. ‘He is brought as a lamb to slaughter’ this indicates that
he was slaughtered. It may be pointed out here that it
was Imam Husain (a.s.) who was slaughtered. Christ
was not slaughtered but hanged (according to
Christians).
19. Further, when thou shalt make his sow on offering for
sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days – this
sentence may be split up in three parts to make the
meaning clear: (a) when thou shalt make his soul an
offering for sin(s) he shall see his seed, (3) he shall
prolong his days. The part (2) indicates that he will have
progeny. Jesus Christ was without progeny. It is
therefore crystal clear that all these predictions relate to
Imam Husain (a.s.) and not to Jesus Christ.
20. By his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify
many, for he shall bear their iniquities? It may be stated
here that according to Christian, Christ is the ‘son’ of
God and not the ‘servant’ of God. As such this prediction
can not he made applicable to Christ for he was not a
servant of God.
THE FRUITS OF REVELATIONS 169
21. Reappearance of Imam Mahdi Aakheruz Zaman
According to some followers of Islam, one Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.)
will be born of the progeny of Imam Husain (a.s.) and that he
will have a very long life. They believe that he is stilt alive and
is the Imam of our time. God has made him invisible to us. One
day he will re-appear in Mecca and after banishing infidelity
and blasphemy, will revive and spread Islam throughout the
world.
22. Predictions relating his re-appearance have already
been recorded in words of Mahadeo, elsewhere in this
book.
23. In the book of ‘Isaiah’, Chapter 53, Verse 10, recorded
elsewhere in this book we have seen that when thou
shalt make his (lamb) soul an offering for sin, he shall
see his seed, he shall prolong his (seed) days. It has
been proved that the grief stricken personality described
here is no other than Imam Husain (a.s.). It is therefore
obvious, that from the progeny of Imam Husain (a.s.)
there will be person born with extraordinary long life.
And that person according to some followers of Islam is
the twelfth Imam (Vicegerent) Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.).
24. Kaanni qaddoeeto fa ajabto inni tarekun feekomus

yataffaraqa hatta yareda a’layyal hauza.1
(The prophet (Muhammad) says, ‘I have been called
(my death is near). Thus I have accepted. I leave
unto you two valuables viz. Quran and Ahle Bait. If
you obey these two after me you will never loose the
right path. And God, the Omnisent has informed me
that these two things will never be separated from
each other till the Doomsday.
25. This shows that so long as there is Quran, Ahle Bait is
there. And since this message has been revealed to the
prophet by God, it is the will of God, and everyone has
to believe in it. Therefore, Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) is alive
and is the Imam (Vicegerent) of our time.

Introduction
A proverb is set on the basis of some experience on observation.
For example as the lamb goes to sleep immediately after sunset
and a lark rises very early so comes the proverbial advice:
Go with the lamb and rise with the lark.
Similarly as the man is the result of the growth of a child, so
the maxim:
The Child is father of the Man
Let us examine the proverb about prophesies. They say:
Coming events cast their shadows before.
Thomas Campbell in Lochiel’s Warning says:
Tis the sunset of life gives me mystical lore,
And coming events cast their shadows before.1
Quran’s Testimony
The coming of our Prophet has been an event of great
1 The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Quotations, 53:16

significance. So first we find it out from the Holy Quran itself.
Searching the mention of our Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) in the
chronological order we first have the prayer of Hazrat
Ibraheem (Abraham).
O Our Lord, raise amongst them a messenger, one of
themselves, to recite to them Thy signs and to teach
them the Book and the Wisdom and to purify them;
verily You are the Mighty, the Wise.1
J. M. Rodwell in his Note No. 3 on page 351 of his translation
of the Holy Quran points out the reference of the Old
Testament on this issue:
15. The Lord thy God will raise up to thee a Prophet from
the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto
him ye shall hearken;
16. According to all that thou desiredst of the Lord thy God
in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying: Let me not
hear again the yoke of the Lord my God, neither let me
see this great fire any more, that I die not.
17. And the Lord said unto me, They have well spoken that
which they have spoken.
18. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their
brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his
mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall
command Him. (Deut. XVIII) Next comes the similarity
1 Holy Quran, 2:29
174 ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES
with Moses. Says Quran:
Verily We have sent a messenger as a witness over
you, as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger.1
Finally came the time of Jesus, says Quran:
And when Jesus, son of Mary said: ‘O Children of
Israel, I am Allah’s messenger to you confirming the
Torah which was before me, and announcing the
good tidings of a messenger who will come after me,
bearing the name Ahmed.’ Then when he came to
them with the evidences, they said: ‘This is magic
manifest.’2
Richard Bell annotates on page 577:
The Praise which is also the meaning of Muhammad,
this is probably based on a confusion of periclutos
‘Comforter’ 3 with pericletos ‘celebrated’. That the
confusion originated with Muhammad himself is
unlikely. Probably Jesus, but sometimes taken to
refer to the promised messenger, who is identified
with Muhammad.
Writes George Sale in his note on page 446 of his Translation
of the Holy Quran:
For Muhammad also bore the name of Ahmed; both

names being derived from the same root, and nearly
of the same signification. The Persian paraphrase to
support what is here alleged quotes the following
words of Christ, ‘I go to my father and the paraclete
shall come’ the Muhammadan doctors unanimously
teaching that by the paraclete (or as they choose to
read it, the periclete or Illustrious), their Prophet is
intended and no other.1
Prophecies In The Christian Scriptures
Nevertheless I tell you the truth, it is expedient for you that I
go away, for if I go not away the Comforter will not come unto

Abdullah Yusuf Ali.
The Mission of Jesus was to his own people, the Jews. Note

to the lost sheep of Israel’, also Matt. xv:26 : ‘It is not meet to
take the children’s bread and to cast it, to the dogs.’
Certain references of the Bible as pointed out by Allamah Yusuf
Ali are of interest:
(1) These twelve Jesus sent forth and commanded them,
saying, ‘Go not into the way of the Gentiles and into any
city of the Samaritans enter ye not
1 See John, xvi:7

But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.1
(2) But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the

Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help
me. But he answered and said it is not meet to take the
children’s bread and to cast it to dogs.2
(3) Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the
prophets; I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.3
Greek Words for Ahmad and Muhammad
Further Allama Yusuf Ali says in his Note 5438:
‘Ahmad’, or ‘Muhammad’, the praised one is almost a
translation of the Greek word paracletos. In the present Gospel
of John, xiv:16, xv:26 and xvi:7, the word ‘Comforter in the
English version is for the Greek word ‘paracletos’ which means
‘Advocate’, ‘one called to the help of another’, ‘a kind friend’,
rather than ‘Comforter’. Our doctors contend that paracletos is
a corrupt reading for periclytos, and that in their original
saying of Jesus there was, prophecy of our Holy Prophet
Ahmad by name. Even if we read paraclete, it would apply to
the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.), who is a mercy for all creatures4

and ‘most kind and merciful to the Believers’1 See also no. 416
to iii. 81. While on page 144, note 416 Cf. ii. 63, No. 78 he
writes:
The argument is: You (People of the Book) are bound by your
own oaths, sworn solemnly in the presence of your own
Prophets. In the Old Testament, as it now exists, Muhammad
is foretold in Deut. xviii 18; and the rise of the Arab nation in
Isaiah, xiii II, for Kedar was a son of Ismail and the name is
used for the Arab nation in the New Testament, as it now exists,
Muhammad is foretold in the Gospel of St. John, xiv 16, xv 26
and xvi 7 the future Comforter can not be the Holy Spirit as
understood by Christians, because Holy Spirit already was
present, helping and guiding Jesus. The Greek word translated
‘Comforter’ is ‘Paracletos’, which is an easy corruption from
‘Paraclytos’, which is almost a literal translation of
‘Muhammad’ or ‘Ahmad’; see Quran 61:6. Further there were
other Gospels that have perished, but of which traces still
remain, which were even more specific in the reference to
Muhammad; e.g. the Gospel of St. Barnabas, an Italian
translation of which is extent in the State Library at Vienna. It
was edited in 1907 with an English translation by Mr. Lonsdale
and Laura Ragg.
Speaking collectively of the people of the Book says
Quran: Those to whom We have given the Book
recognise him as they recognise their own sons, but
1 Ibid, 9:128
178 ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES
a party of them conceal the truth knowingly.1 In the
words of J.M. Rodwell, note 4, page 353:
That is, the Jews are really convinced of the truth of
Muhammad’s Mission.
Prof S.V.M. Ali points out the Bible:
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken
diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God to
observe and to do all his commandments which I
command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will
set thee on high above all nations of the earth. And
all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake
thee, if thou shall hearken unto the voice of the Lord
thy God.2
Further, says Quran about this issue:
Those to whom We have given the Book recognise
him as they recognise their own sons, but they who
are the authors of their own perdition are they who
will not, believe.3
Abdullah Yousuf Ali says;
The people of the Book know Muhammad as well as
they know their own sons, they know him to be true
and upright; they know him to be in the line of

Abraham; they know him to correspond to the
description of the Prophet foretold among
themselves; but selfishness induces some of them to
act against their ‘own knowledge and conceal the
truth.1
Islam A Continuity of Earlier Message
The Mission of Muhammad is actually the continuity of the
earlier Message. Says Quran:
Say: O people of the Book, ye have no ground to
stand on, until you observe the Torah and the
Evangel, and that which hath been sent down to you
from your Lord. That which hath been sent down to
thee from thy lord certainly increase the rebellion
and unbeIief of many of them; but, be not thou
troubled for the unbelievers.2
According to Mr. J. M. Rodwell, note 1 page 494:
That is the Quran. The Jew was to retain a faith in
the Torah or Law; the Christian in the Injeel or
Gospel; both Jews and Christians were to receive the
Quran as the complement of both.
According to Quran, the Prophet brought the
religion of Truth; He it is who hath sent His
Messenger with the Guidance and the religion of

180 ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES
Truth, in order that he may set it above all (other)
religion(s), though averse are the polytheists.1
Islam has shown light of guidance to the world but the physical
domination, rule of Law, prevalence of justice and governance
of Truth the world over is left for a later day. We may discuss
this in another essay while, discussing the reappearance of
Imam Mahdi (a.s.) and the Descent of Jesus from the fourth
Heaven.
Prophecies of Ancient Scriptures Confirm Quran
The Holy Quran not only confirms that ancient Scriptures like
Torah and the Injeel (Evangel) made, a prophecy about
Muhammad but they did mention the qualities of some of his
Disciples or Companions and the Successors, Holy and
Rightful, who had to carry out the Mission till the Day
Judgment. Say Quran:
Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, and those
with him are violent against unbelievers
compassionate amongst themselves, one sees them
performing rukoo and sajda in desire of bounty and
acceptance from Allah; they bear their mark on
their faces from the effect of sujood; that what they
are compared to in the Torah; what they are
compared to in the Evangel is a seed which puts
forth its shoot, and strengthens it, so that it grows

stout and straight upon its stalk, to the, admiration
of the sowers, that He may enrage the unbelievers
by them. Allah has promised those of them who have
believed and wrought the works of righteousness,
forgiveness and a great reward.1
Prof S. V. Mir Ahmed Ali in his note No. 2342 on page 1535
refers to the Old Testament:
And for Ismail, I have heard thee, Behold I have
blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will
multiply him exceedingly twelve princes shall he
beget, and I will make him a great nation.2
At another place in the context of Moses and seventy of his
select companions, says Quran:
And Moses chose (out of) his people, seventy men, to
meet with Us; then when the earthquake seized them,
he said: O my Lord, had Thou willed Thou would
have destroyed them before, and me as well; wilt
Thou destroy us for what stupid among us did? It is
only Thy trial by which Thou willest? Thou are our
Patron, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, Thou
are the best of those who forgive.
Prescribe for us good in this world and in the
Hereafter as well; lo, We have reverted to Thee. Said
He (Allah): ‘With My punishment I strike whosoever

I Will and My Mercy is wide enough for everything I
shall prescribe it for those who show piety, who pay
the Zakaat, and those who in Our signs do believe.
Who follow the messenger, the Makkan Prophet,
whom they find mentioned in the Torah and the
Evangel in their possession, urging them to what is
reputable and restraining them from what is
disreputable, making good things allowable for
them and foul things forbidden, relieving them of
their burden and the shackles which have been upon
them; so those who believe in him and support and
help him and follow the light which has been sent
down with him they are ones who prosper.1
Next Allah commands the Prophet to declare:
Say: O people, I am the Messenger of Allah to you all,
to Whom belongs the realm of the heavens and earth,
than Whom there is no other god, Who gives life and
cause to die, so believe in Allah and His messenger
the Makkan prophet, who believes in Allah and His
words ; follow him mayhap ye will be guided.2
According to verse 157 our Prophet is described while in the
verse 158 Allah testifies that the description truly applies to
him. Now the next verse says:
Of the people of Moses was a community guiding by

the truth and thereby acting fairly.1
This confirms that some of the Jews did honestly recognise
him as the Prophet described in Torah and embraced Islam
Quran’s Reference To Scholars Of Christianity
About the learned men of Scriptures of Christianity says Quran:
Assuredly thou wilt find that the most violent of the
people in enmity against those who have believed
the Jews and those who practise idolatry and thou
wilt find those of them who are hearest in love to
those who have believed to be those who say ‘We are
Nasaara’ that is because there are amongst them
learned and virtuous and because count, themselves
not great.
When they hear what has been sent down to the
Messenger, one sees their eyes overflowing with
tears because of the truth which they recognise; they
say, ‘O Our Lord, we believe, so write us down
among those who bear witness.
Why should we not believe in Allah and the truth
which has come to us, and crave that our Lord
should cause us to enter with the upright folk.
So far what they have said, Allah has rewarded
them with gardens through which the rivers flow,

Islam And The Christian King Of Habasha (Abyssinia)
Muhammad’s clarion call was:
Believe in One god and Act piously.
The Prophet was gaining ground and his Mission was
attracting good following but the enemies of Allah and Islam
tortured him and his followers. Says Justice Amir Ali in his
Spirit of Islam on page 29-30:
Profoundly afflicted by the sufferings of his disciples,
whose position, as time went on, became more and
more unbearable, he advised them to seek a refuge
in the neighbouring Christian kingdom of Abyssinia,
where ruled a pious sovereign, till Allah in His
mercy wrought a change in the feelings of the
Quraish. He had heard of the righteousness of this
Christian king, of his tolerance and hospitality, and
was certain of a welcome for his followers.
Some immediately availed themselves of the advice
and sailed to the number of fifteen, to the hospitable
shores of the Negus (Najashi). This is called the first
Exile (muhaajerat) in the history of Islam and
1 Holy Quran, 5:82-86

occurred in the fifth year of Muhammad (s.a.w.a.)’s
Mission (615 A.C.). These emigrants were soon
joined by many more of their fellow-sufferers and
labourers in the cause of truth, until their number
amounted to eighty-three men and eighteen women.
But the untiring hostility of the Quraish pursued
them even here. They were furious at the escape of
their victims and sent deputies to the king to
demand the delivery of these refugees that they
might he put to death. They stated the chief charges
against the poor fugitives to be the abjuration of
their old religion and the adoption of a new one. The
Negus sent for the exiles and enquired of them
whether what their enemies had stated was true.
‘What is this religion, for which you have abandoned
your former faith,’ asked the king, ‘and adopted
neither mine nor that of any other people.’
Speech of Ja’far Bin Abi Talib in the Court of the King
of Abyssinia
Ja’far son of Abu Talib and brother of Ali, acting as spokesman
for the fugitives spoke thus:
O King, we were plunged in the depth of ignorance
and barbarism we adored idols, we lived in
unchastity; we are dead bodies and we spoke
abominations; we disregarded every feeling of
humanity and the duties of hospitality and
186 ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES
neighbourhood; we knew no law but that of the
strong, when Allah raised among us a man of whose
birth, truthfulness, honesty and purity we were
aware and he called us to the unity of Allah and
taught us not to associate anything with Him; he
forbade us the worship of idols; and enjoined us to
speak the truth, to be faithful to our trust to be
merciful and to regard the rights of neighbours; he
forbade us to speak evil of women, or to eat the
substance of orphans; he ordered us fly from vices,
and to abstain from evil; to offer prayers, to render
aims, to observe the fast. We have believed in him,
we have accepted his teachings and his injunctions
to worship Allah, and not to associate anything with
Him. For this reason our people have risen against
us, have persecuted us in order to make us forego
the worship of Allah and return to the worship of
idols of wood and stone other abominations. They
have tortured us and injured us, until finding no
safety among them; we have come to thy country,
and hope thou will protect us from their oppression.
The demands of the Quraish were scouted by the King and the
deputies returned in confusion to Mecca
Ja’far Bin Abi Talib Recites Quran before the King
Professor S. V. Mir Ahmad Ali writes in note No. 716, in
connection with verses 83 and 84 of Surah 5 on pages 503 and
ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES 187
504:
This verse and the following are said to have been
revealed on the effect of Ja’far ibne Abi Talib’s
recital of the Holy Qur’an, created on the Negus, the
Emperor of Abyssinia, and his people who were
Christians. It happened thus that when the
persecution of the heathens of Mecca became
unbearably severe and more and more tortuous, the
Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) was prepared to bear
anything along with his kith and kin and he did not
mind his own sufferings and that of his family but
became day by day more and more mindful of the
sufferings and his followers, the converts to Islam.
At last in the month of Rajab in the 5th year of his
mission (Be’sat) he ordered the converts numbering
about eighty in all, to migrate and take refuge in
Abyssinia whose ruler he said, though a Christian,
was just and kind and Ja’far Ibne Abi Talib, brother
of Ali was ordered to lead the emigration. When the
party of the converts to Islam, and left Mecca, the
news of their departure perturbed the Meccans and
immediately the Meccans despatched a deputation
under Amr bin Aas, with many valuable present to
King Negus with the request to return the Muslim
refugees to them. The Meccan deputation
approached the King and in order to excite the
religious hatred of the Christian Monarch against
the Muslim refugees, represented to him that the
188 ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES
refugees as Mulims were not only opposed to
idolatry but also denounced the Christian religion
and sp0ke disparagingly of Jesus Christ. The
Emperor summoned the Muslim refugees and asked
them to answer the charges against them. Where
upon Ja’far Ibne Abi Talib, came forward and
requested the Emperor to ask the Meccans if the
refugees were their slaves to which the Meccans
replied saying, ‘No’. Again Ja’far asked if the
refugees were in any kind of debt to them, to which
the Meccans replied saying, ‘No’. Then Ja’far spoke
saying:
‘O King! We were indulged in all sorts of idolatrous
faith and practised all sorts of evils. A Prophet has
risen from among us who has taught us to believe in
One God, to give up all evils and to live a virtuous
life, practice charity and to be good and to do good.
For this we are heartlessly persecuted.’
Negus asked Ja’far: ‘Do thou rememberest anything
of what has been revealed to the Prophet?’ Ja’far
said, ‘Yes’ and recited the chapter ‘Mary’. Tears
began to role from the eyes of the Emperor and all
those in the court were deeply impressed. Negus
gave a slap on the back of Amr and said:
‘I can never grant your request andif you talk ill of
Ja’far or his party, I will punish you.’
ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES 189
Saying this, he refused to accept any of his presents
from the Meccans. Negus and all his courtiers
embraced Islam and ordered that the refugees be
given every convenience they desire for.
Ja’far’s Return to Medina
When the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) had migrated to Medina and
settled there and the Muslims as a people had gained a
triumphant position, the Høly Prophet (s.a.w.a.) wrote to
Negus to return the refugees to Medina. When Ja’far returned
to Medina, the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) had been to the
defensive expeditions at Khaiber and the news of the arrival of
Ja’far at Medina reached the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) in his
camp at Khaiber, along with the news of the Victory of Khaiber
at the hands of Ali. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) was so much
pleased that he (s.a.w.a.) said:
‘Which should I celebrate first? Either the victory of
Ali or the return of Ja’far?’
The King Deputes Scholars to Learn Islam
Negus had sent along with Ja’far, many presents to the Holy
Prophet (s.a.w.a.) with a deputation of some elected scholars
from his people to learn the details of the faith Islam, and
return to educate the people of Abyssinia. When this
deputation met the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.), the Holy Prophet
(s.a.w.a.) recited the chapter ‘Yaseen’. It is reported that along
with this deputation was a similar group from Syria in which

was the great Christian Monk Bohaira. When the people heard
the Surah, tears flowed from their eyes and they all embraced
Islam.

Late Maulana Hafiz Syed Farman Ali writes in note No. 2 of his
translation of the Holy Quran page 192, in connection with
verse 83 of Surah 5:
This verse is revealed in connection with the
Nasaara (Christians) of Abyssinia. Because when
Hazrat Ja’far-e-Tayyaar and others migrated to
Abyssinia and the King Najjashi (Negus) and his
courtiers heard the recitation of the miracles
brought by Muhammad (s.a.w.a.), they embraced
Islam. And when Hazrat Ja’far was back home,
Najjashi sent a batch of 70 Ulema with him. When
these learned men had the audience with the Prophet
(s.a.w.a.), he (s.a.w.a.) recited Surah Yasin in their
presence. The erudite wept bitterly and courted
Emaan (i.e. embraced Islam) and spontaneously
spoke out:
How much does Quran resemble the Injeel!
The great and learned Hafiz Syed Farman Ali Marhoom (late)
writes in his note number 1 page 193, in connection with the
verse 83 of Surah 5 relating to the event of migration of the
faithful of Abyssinia. Here is some very interesting relevant

portion:
Deputation sent by unbelievers (the Quraish) to
Abyssinia to bring back Ja’far and Party
Hazrat Ja’far led seventy persons and Amr-e-Aas
and Ammaara son of Walid chased them into the
territory of Najjashi. These two enemies of Islam
took valuable gifts for the King. They presented him
the gifts which the King accepted. They then spoke
out that they wanted Muslims to be given in their
custody. The king asked Ja’far: ‘What do these
people say?’ Ja’far asked the king to enquire from
them whether we are their slaves. Amr-e-Aas replied:
‘No, rather they are free and honoured people.’ Then
Ja’far asked: ‘Are we their debtors and so they are
demanding us to clear the debt.’ He (Amr-e-Aas)
said: ‘No.’ Ja’far asked: ‘Have we murdered
someone the compensation of whose blood you are
demanding?’ He said: ‘No.’ Then Ja’far said: ‘After
all what have you to do us now? You tortured us and
we left your city.’ Amr-e-Aas said: ‘O King! they
have innovated a religion. They criticize our gods.
They have spoilt our children and created rift
amongst our community. So O King! You return
them to us so that we may get united.’ Ja’far Tayyar
said: ‘We have opposed them because God sent a
Prophet amongst us. He prohibits us from
attributing partners to Allah, doing injustice,
192 ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES
shedding blood, committing adultery, drinking wine,
practicing usury and eating pork. Instead he orders
us to do justice, treat the relations with kindness,
establish Salaat (Ritual Prayer) and offer Zakaat.’
On hearing all this, said the King: ‘This is what
Jesus commanded.’
Then the King asked Ja’far: ‘Do you remember by
heart some of the Quran?’ Ja’far at once began
reciting Surah Maryam (Chapter of Mary). And
when he came to (recite) the verse:
‘And shake towards thee trunk of the palm tree, and
it will let fall upon thee juicy (fruit) ripe’,1 the King
Najjashi broke down and said:
‘By God here lies the Truth!’
Then Amr-e-Aas again said: ‘O King! Hand them
over to me.’ No sooner the King heard this he
slapped Amr-e-Aas on his face and warned him: ‘If
you will utter anything against them now then I will
kill you.’
So facing insult Amr-e-Aas returned to Mecca,
where he told the people:
‘Ja’far is living in respect and dignity in Abyssinia.’

Prophecies in the Bible
Having quoted extensively from the Holy Quran that our
Prophet was categorically mentioned in the earlier Scriptures
like the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Evangel), we now quote
from the very scriptures.
Bible is one of the oldest Scriptures we have in our midst. The
Book, rather a library of sixty six books, is divided into two
main parts. Each part is called a Covenant or Testament. So we
have the Old Testament and the New Testament. First we
quote from the Old Testament:
Writes late Alhaj Qasim Ali Jairazbhoy in his book
‘Muhammad, a Mercy to all the nations’:
According to the injunctions of the Holy Quran, we
Muslims believe that the advent of our Prophet
Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) was expressly foretold in all
the sacred books of the religions.
The Holy Quran represents: ‘And when God made a
covenant through the Prophets: Certainly what I
have given you of book and wisdom – then an
apostle comes to you verifying that which is with
you, you must believe in him and you must aid him.
He said: Do you affirm and accept My compact in
this (matter)? They said: We do affirm.’1
The claim is advanced here that all the Prophets had
1 Holy Quran, 3:80
194 ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES
prophesied the advent of a world Prophet who
should verify the truth of all the Prophets who had
appeared in the World.
Prophecies in the Old Testament
There are many prophecies regarding the Holy Prophet
(s.a.w.a.) both in the Old and the New Testaments. Duet 18:15-
18 speaks very clearly of the rising of a Prophet (who shall be
the like of Moses) from amongst the brethren of Israelites, i.e.,
the Ishmaelite or the Arabs. The passage in question reads:
(15) The Lord the God will raise up unto thee a
Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like
unto me; unto him ye shall hearken. (16) According
to all that thou desirest of the Lord thy God in Horeb
in the day of assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear
again the voice of the Lord my God, neither let me
see this great fire any more, that I die not.’ (17) And
the Lord said unto me, ‘They have well said that
which they have spoken.’ (18) I will raise them up a
prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee,
and I will put my words in his mouth; and he shall
speak unto them all that I shall command him.’1
In the above quoted passages our Prophet is evidently foretold.
For God declared to all the Israelites that He would raise up a
Prophet from among their brethren. Now we hesitate not to
1 Deut, 18:15-18
ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES 195
affirm that it is impossible that the phrase ‘brethren of Israel’,
could have any other meaning than that of Ishmaelite and
these never had any prophet but Muhammad (s.a.w.a.). It is
admitted both by Jews and Christians that revelations to the
Israelites Prophet were not made in the very word as given in
the Scriptures, but only their purport, which they afterwards
delivered to the people in their own language. But the Holy
Quran, on the contrary revealed to our Prophet word by word,
as it now is a fact which makes the expression, ‘and will put my
words in his mouth’ inapplicable to anyone except Muhammad
(s.a.w.a.).
In promising to raise up a prophet, God tells Moses that ‘I will
raise up a Prophet among their brethren.’ But we find in Deut
34:10 that there arose not a Prophet since in Israel like unto
Moses. There cannot then remain a single doubt but that the
promised Prophet must have been from among the Israelites,
the brethren of the Israelites.
Another Prophecy of the Prophet Isaiah
‘He saw two riders. one of them was a rider upon an
ass and the other a rider upon a camel, he
hearkened diligent with much heed.’1
Isaiah saw in a vision two riders, one of them was rider upon
an ass and the other rider upon a camel. In our opinion, the
above passage is the faithful rendering of the original Hebrew.
1 Isaiah, xxi:7
196 ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES
In the English Bible, however, it is thus translated: ‘He saw a
chariot of asses and a chariot of camels, etc.’
The Vulgate has it as follows: ‘He saw chariot of two horsemen,
a rider upon an ass and a rider upon a camel, etc.’
There can be no doubt that of the two riders represented by the
Prophet Isaiah, as being the restorers of the true worship of the
Godhead, the rider upon the ass is Jesus Christ, because he so
made his entry into Jerusalem, and that by the rider of a camel
is meant the Prophet of Arabia, of which country the camel is
the characteristic means of conveyance.
Let us examine a few more quotations from the Old Testament.
Says Bible:
And he said, The Lord came from Sinai, and rose up
from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount
Paran and he came with ten thousands of saints;
from his right and went a fiery law for them.1
Is it not the Mount Faraan with which our Prophet is
connected?
Next we have in the Bible in the Book of Genesis:
(1) And as for Ismail, have heard thee: Behold, I have
blessed him and will make him fruitful, and will
multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget,
and I will make him a great nation.2
1 Deut, 33:2 2 17:20
ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES 197
(2) 12. Now these are the generations of Ismail, Abraham’s
son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid
bare unto Abraham;
13. And these are the names of the sons of Ismael, by
their names according to their generations; the first
born of Ismail, Nebauoth and Kedar, and Adbeel and
Mibsam.
14. And Mishma, and Dummah and Massa.
15. Hadar and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah;
16. These are the sons of Ismail, and these are their
names, by their towns and by their castles twelve
princes according to their nations.1
The Progeny of Abraham, through Ismail, had to have a bright
future. But who are these princes, Twelve in number?
Allama Jamaluddin, the famous Sunni Muhaddis, says that
Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari narrated: ‘When Allah revealed the
verse:
O ye who have believed! Obey Allah and obey the
Messenger and those among you Ulil Amr (invested
with Divine Authority) and in ought ye differ, bring
it before Allah and the Messenger, if ye believe in
Allah and the Last Day. This is best and fairest way
of settlement.2
1 25:12-16 2 Holy Quran, 4:59
198 ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES
I said to the Prophet that I recognised Allah and the Messenger
but who were these Ulil Amr (the people vested with Divine
Authority) obedience to whom, similar to obedience to you, is
made obligatory by Allah? Then the Prophet replied:
These (Ulil Amr) are my Successors. First of them is
Ali, then Hasan, then Husain, then Ali bin Husain,
then Muhammad bin Ali named Baqir in Taurat1 O
Jabir! You will survive to meet him. And when you
meet him, convey my Salaams to him. Then Ja’far-e-
Sadiq bin Muhammad, then Moosa bin Ja’far, then
Ali bin Moosa, then Muhammad bin Ali, then Ali bin
Muhammad, then Hasan bin Ali, then the Hujjat of
Allah on earth and the Baqiyyah (the remaining) of
His servants shall be Muhammad bin Hasan.2
Prophecies in the New Testament
We discussed in details the prophesies about our Prophet as
preserved in the Old Testament even after it had gone through
so many vicissitudes. We now go over to the New Testament to
find out our desired thing.
Late Jairazbhoy writes:
1 The famous names of Imam Hasan and Husain (a.s.) are mentioned
in Torah as Shabbar and Shabbir respectively. Thus we know three of
them mentioned in one of the ancient Scriptures so clearly. The
names of the other nine could also be very conveniently spotted if the
Originals are examined without prejudice. 2 Rauzatul Ahbab, Vol. 3, page 27

John 14:15: If ye love me ye will keep my
commandments, V:16: And I will pray the Father
and he shall give you another Parakletos (Comforter)
that he may be with you forever, V:25: These things
have I spoken unto you while yet abiding with you,
V:26: But the Comforter (Parakletos) which is the
spirit of truth whom the Father will send in my
name he shall teach you all things and bring all
things to your remembrance, whatsoever I said unto
you.
John 16:7: Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is
expedient for you that I go away, for if I go not
away the Comforter (Parakletos) will not come unto
you, but if I go, I will send him unto you. V:8: And
he, when he is come, will convict the world in respect
of sin and of righteousness and of judgment. V:12: I
have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot
bear them now. V:13: How be it when he, the Spirit
of Truth is come, he shall guide you into all the truth
for he shall not speak from himself, but what things
so ever he shall hear, these shall he speak and he
shall declare unto you the things that are to come.
We have not the least doubt that the word ‘Perikalutas’
rendered in English as ‘Comforter’ was not the one uttered by
Jesus Christ, but that it was ‘Parakletos’ meaning ‘illustrious’
or ‘renowned’ answering in every respect to the Arabic word
‘Ahmad.’ Sir William Muir says that the word Ahmad must
200 ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES
have been erroneously employed as a translation of Perikalutas
in some Arabic version of the New Testament and that
Parakletos (illustrious) for ‘Perikalutas’ was forged by some
ignorant or designing monk in Muhammad’s time.1
It is a well-known fact that a person was expected by a great
number of Christians in accordance with the prophecy from a
very early period, which shows that the construction put on the
passage in the Acts by the Roman Church and the Protestants
was not general.
Of this Montanans in the second century earlier than
Tertullian furnishes an example.
He was considered by his followers to be the promised person.
Prophet (s.a.) in the Hindu Scriptures
Next, we go over to the prophecies about our Prophet in the
ancient scriptures of Hindus – the religion of the vast
multitude of the Indo Pak subcontinent. According to
Jairazbhoy:
Likewise in Hindu scriptures too there are a good many
prophecies about the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.). A
few of these are in the Purana. The one in the Bhavishya
Purana is the clearest of all. The fifth word from left to right is
the name of our Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.). It gives even the name
of the country of the Prophet ‘Marusthal-nivashinan’ denizen
of the desert (Arabia). For this reason the Arya Samaj has tried
1 Muir, Life of Mahomet
ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES 201
to cast doubt on the authenticity of this Purana. Their
argument is that it contains a reference to the Prophet.
According to Sanatanist Pandits and the vast bulk of Hindus,
nevertheless, it is considered very authentic. The prophecy
runs as follows: –
(5) Just then an untutored man with the epithet
Teacher, Muhammad by name, came along with his
companions. (6) Raja (Bhoja in a version) to that
Great Deva, the denizen of Arabia, purifying with
the Ganges water and with the five things of cow
offered sandal wood and pay worship to him. (7) O
denizen of Arabia and Lord of the Holies to thee is
my adoration. O you who has found many ways and
means to destroy all the devils of the world. (8) O
pure one from among the illiterates1, O sinless one,
the spirit of truth and absolute master, to you is my
adoration. Accept me at your feet.2
According to another prophecy:
O people, listen this emphatically, the man of praise
(Muhammad) will be raised among the people. We
take the emigrant in our shelter from sixty thousand
and ninety enemies whose conveyances are twenty
camels and she-camels, whose loftiness of position
touches the heaven and lower it.

Prophecy about Ali (a.s.) Fatemah (a.s.) Hasan (a.s.)
and Husain (a.s.)
While the third is still in more details; not only the Holy
Prophet (s.a.w.a.) is mentioned but his only daughter, cousin
and son in law Ali, son of Abu Talib, the two sons of Ali and
Fatemah and the other Holy and Rightful successors of the
Prophet are also mentioned.
Says the Sanskrit book Puran (As recorded by Bashisht Muni):
Says Mahadeoji to his wife! O Parvati! The
Omnipotent Who is uncomparable, will bless
Mahamat with a daughter who will be better than
thousand sons put together. And she will be perfect
in worship of God. She will never speak untrue. She
will be infallible. She will get close to God with the
help of her father.
And from the loin of his uncle a son will be born
having the name Eelo (or Ali). He is full of valour
and might. He is generous, like him we have seen no
other (noble man). Then Mahamat will give his
daughter in marriage to him. The two will have two
sons (Hasan and Husain).
1 Atharva Veda, Kanda 20, Sukta 127, Mantra 1-3
ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES 203
Both will be marvellous and beautiful. Both will be
loved by God. Both will possess tremendous power.
Both will be courageous and gallant and will be
recogniser of God. All will be uncomparable in doing
good deeds. And that Omnipotent, Who is
uncomparable, will not create after them any man
possessing open and hidden artifices equal to them.
And those sons of Mahamat will be his heirs. They
will have many children who with their true logic
will attract people to the religion of Mahamat day
by day. And will glorify the religion of Mahamat.
And Mahamat will love them more than the entire
community and even his daughter. They will be
perfect in the religion of Mahamat. They will not
perform any work to please their own hearts, and
all their actions and promises, will be according to
the will of that Omnipotent. They will always seek
work of God. O’ Parvati! Within a few years after
the death of Mahamat, some nasty minded people
will unjustly cause sufferings and murder to his both
grandsons for the sake of the world. And on their
death, the entire world will become headless. Their
killer will become without religion and will neither
get reward in this world nor in heaven. Their hearts
will become devoid of love of Mahamat. And at the
end, at any cost, will not get deliverance from the
hell. Outwardly, they will include themselves in the
religion of Mahamat. And slowly other people will
204 ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES
also accept their company. And will adopt many
things against the character of Mahamat and
Mahamat’s children. And those who will follow the
path of Mahamat’s children will be comparatively in
small number. Majority of people will be in the
group of their killer. Outwardly they will call
themselves friends of Mahamat. And at the end of
the period of ‘Kalyug’ such outwardly hypocrites,
will be in large numbers and will create trouble in
the entire world.
Prophecy by Buddha
Finally we go into the contents of the teachings of Buddha. His
followers are not so many in Pakistan and India but they
dominate in Sri Lanka (Ceylon), Burma, Thailand, China and
Japan.
According to Muhammad in Ancient Scriptures, by U. Ali, Vol.,
page 49 in the Sacred Books of the East, Vol. XI page 97 is
written:
Then the Blessed one addressed the brethren and
said, ‘Whosoever, brethren, have been Arahat-
Buddhas through the long ages of the past, there
were servitors just as devoted to those Blessed ones
as Ananda has been to me. And whosoever, brethren,
shall be the Arahat-Buddhas of the future there shall
be servitors as devoted to those Blessed ones as
Ananda has been to me.
ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES 205
And Ananda remained always near the Blessed
Master of truth, until the Tathagata made him final
entry into Nirvana.1
Ananda was really devoted to the Buddha Gautama.
His true devotion distinguishes him from other
disciples. Once when a maddened elephant
approached the Buddha Gautama the Bhikshus ill
deserted him, Ananda only remained by his side.2
The Buddha is talking of the devout followers of other Buddhas.
Let us turn to the pages of history. Muhammad arranged the
family feast. Ali alone stood up to support him.
Moreover, there was a time when the Prophet was surrounded
by the enemies in the battle of Ohad. All fled away but Ali
stood by the Prophet.
And when the Prophet breathed his last his head was resting
on the lap of Ali.
This prophecy proved to be true in its entirety.
Prophecies in the Parsi Scriptures
By now we have searched for the prophesies in the Scriptures
that pertain to the region which is now the Western side of
Middle East and we have gone through a few in the Eastern
side of Middle East now called the Indo Pak sub-continent.
1 The Gospel of Buddha by Earns, page 69 2 SBE, Vol. II, page 97
206 ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES
Next we have the Ancient Scriptures of Iran, the heart of
Middle East, writes Jairaz-bhoy :
The Parsi religion is one of the oldest religions in the world,
perhaps as old as, if not older than, the Hindu religion. It has
two collections of scriptures – the Dasatir and the Zand Avasta,
which may be called respectively the Old and the New
Testaments of the Parsi religion. In Dasatir, No. 14, which is
associated with the name of Sasan II, there is not only a
corroboration of the Doctrines and the Teachings of Islam, but
a clear prophecy as to the advent of the Prophet Muhammad.
The Prophecy is made in the clearest terms, and is preceded by
a vision of a state of extreme disorder and demoralization in
Persia. It runs thus: –
When the Persians should sink so low in morality, a
man will be born in Arabia whose followers will
upset their throne, religion and everything. The
mighty stiff-necked ones of Persia will be over-
powered. The house which was built (referring to
Abraham building the Ka’ba) and in which many
idols have been place will be purged of idols, and
people will say their prayers facing towards it. His
followers will capture the towns of the Parsis and
Taus and Balkh and other big places round about.
People will embroil with one another. The wise men
of Persia and others will join his followers.
This prophecy is contained in a book which has ever been in
the hands of the Parsis, and its words do not admit of two
ISLAM IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES 207
interpretations. The coming man is to be an Arab. The Persians
would join his faith. Fire temples would be destroyed. Idols
would be removed. People would say their prayers facing
towards the Ka’ba. Can this prophecy fit in with any person
other than Muhammad?
Concludes Jairazbhoy:
Thus if, on the one hand, the Holy Prophet Muhammad
(s.a.w.a.) testified to the truth of all the other Prophets,
belonging to all the different nations of the world, and made it
a part of his religion, on the other hand, the Scriptures of these
previous Prophets are found to contain clear prophecies about
the advent of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.). This
mutual corroboration, by furnishing a great evidence of the
spiritual providence of God for humanity, strengthens people’s
faith in religion in general, and in the religion of Islam in
particular.
