At least six months but 12 months preferred notice of marriage is required. There is a lot of paper work involved etc and a fair amount of preparation. So couples need to be prepared for the time it will take. Parents seeking Baptism of infants or children should make an appointment with the Administrator. There will need to be a preparatory meeting. Parents are reminded that a sponsor who has been fully initiated into the Catholic Church (baptism, confirmation, Holy Communion) and is over 16 years of age is required validly baptised members of other Christian Churches may act as Christian witnesses but only two names can be record in the register. Baptism certificates of sponsors may be required. Parent must present a copy of the birth certificate of their child to the Administrator. Have you ever considered joining the Legion of Mary? There are leaflets containing info about the Legion at the back of the Church. They meet here in the Parish every Thursday at 10:30am. A BIG THANK YOU to Kerry Muir & John Adams for organising the SOCIAL JUSTICE SUNDAY with our visitor Dominick Bonda. The Bishops Committee Statement: Everyones Businessseemed to be well received by the gathering. The Parish Gathering Sub- Committee of the Pastoral Council have served us well…. Month of OCTOBER IS THE MONTH OF THE HOLY ROSARY…..Rosary beads are now in good stock at the Piety Stall at the St Vincent de Paul Shop and Centre…. they make an excellent gift for children during the Month of the Holy Rosary…. PRAY FOR MARRIAGE: MONTH OF PRAYER & FASTING FOR MARRIAGE & FAMILIES SUNDAYS IN OCTOBER 2017 1st / 8th / 15th / 22nd / 29th October Scripture and the Churchs history give us many examples of the miraculous impact when a whole community undertakes prayer and fasting together. Join us for a month of prayer and fasting to be held in parishes, schools and homes across the nation during the month of October 2017 because all families need our prayers and need Gods Grace. We pray for our nations understanding of the importance of marriage: that we will act to protect Gods plan for marriage and family life. We also pray for the well-being of marriages and families, and in a particular way for people who are same-sex attracted or gender questioning. A Council of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference.. Sunday October 1: Today and throughout this week we pray for all marriages and families in Australia. Heavenly Father, grant that our families may be places of communion and prayer, authentic schools of the Gospel and small domestic Churches. Make us ever more mindful of the sacredness and beauty of the family in Gods plan. On Saturday 7th October we celebrate the Solemnity of Mary. Mass will celebrated in the church at 9:30am. aunts, uncles, grandparents All Welcome! Then join us for a sausage sizzle only a gold coin donaon!
