SUNDAY: 25 SEPTEMBER: 26TH SUNDAY ORDINARY TIME

FROM THE PASTOR Dear Parishioners, Today we continue the theme of stewardship in our gospel. We who are blessed are called to take care of those around us. We have to use our time, talent and treasure or prayer, service and finance to build up the Kingdom of God. The rich man was guilty of the sin of omission. He didn’t do what he should have done. So let us be aware of the needs around us and do what we can to alleviate them.

R.C.I.A. has started but it’s not too late to sign up! This is for anyone that is not Catholic and is interested in becoming Catholic possibly. This is also for Catholics who need First Communion and/or Confirmation. This is also for confirmed Catholics who just want to learn more about your faith. Please spread the word to all of the above and have them call Fr. Tom for an interview.

We are in need of new readers and extraordinary lay minis-ters of Holy Communion. Please call Fr. Tom to sign up. We will have training for all of the above

Thanks to Jackie LeBas and Charles & Gwen Bordelon for do-nations toward the art work in the rectory. Sincerely in Christ,

Fr. Thomas Voorhies

STEWARDSHIP OF FINANCES (18 SEPTEMBER 2016 – 25TH SUNDAY ORDINARY TIME)

SACRED HEART $5,012.32 __________________________________

BELAIRE COVE $ 372.00

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUS DONATIONS AND STEWARDSHIP! PLEASE REMEMBER TO PUT SACRED

HEART OF JESUS CHURCH AND SCHOOL IN YOUR WILL.

“Adopt-A-Baby” 5th Month Update I am 5 months old now. I’m about 12 inches long

and I weigh about 1 pound. I’m really getting big and mommy can now feel me moving

around. Maybe I’ll play Trojan football some day! Please keep praying for me!

Your spiritually adopted baby weighs over one pound now. His mother can feel his movement; before he was too small for her to feel. Although

he swam with ease in his watery world, he needed to be big and strong enough to kick hard against

the outside wall and dent it – the inside wall of the uterus has no feeling.

We are mid-way through the pregnancy now. Your prayers have helped your baby’s mother continue with her pregnancy and seek the help she needs.

THAT MAN IS YOU! In a joint effort between the men of Our Lady Queen of All Saints and

Sacred Heart Church Parishes, the That Man Is You! program has been a success over the past 3 years, with an average of 40 men attending each session. The 12 Fall Sessions of Year 4 will begin on Tuesday, September 27th at the Family Life Center at 5:30am. The program is open to all

men in the area. As one of the Tenets of the That Man Is You! program states, WHEREVER YOU ARE

IN YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE, JESUS CHRIST WANTS TO ENCOUNTER YOU RIGHT THERE….AND TAKE

YOU FURTHER. Please consider joining other men in our area in experiencing this fulfilling spiritual

program for Men.
