จำกกำรประเมนควำมเสยงของทประชมคณะกรรมกำรบรหำรควำมเสยง และมตทประชมคณะท�ำงำนสงเสรมกำรพฒนำอยำงยงยนประจ�ำป 2558 พบวำผบรโภค พนกงำน ชมชนทบรษทตงอย และสงแวดลอมคอปจจยส�ำคญตำมล�ำดบทสงผลตอควำมยงยนของบรษท บรษทจงก�ำหนดเปำหมำยในกำรสรำงควำมยงยนใหสอดคลองกบลกษณะกำรประกอบธรกจของบรษทและแผนธรกจของบรษท คอ พฒนำองคกรใหเปนองคกรแหงกำรเรยนร สรำงกำรมสวนรวมและแลกเปลยนองคควำมรเพอใหบคลำกรเกดกำรพฒนำตนเองอยตลอดเวลำ เพอพฒนำคณภำพสนคำและผลตภณฑใหตอบสนองควำมตองกำรของผบรโภคอยำงไมหยดนง ปองกนผลกระทบทอำจเกดกบชมชนและสงแวดลอมอนเกดจำกกำรด�ำเนนงำนของบรษท ทงนเพอเปำหมำยทจะน�ำไปสองคกรใหมควำมแขงแกรงและยงยนตลอดไป

Thai Vegetable Oil Public Company Limited adheres to its business ethos in growing with quality and sustainability, producing high quality products for better quality of life, creating values of shareholders, and caring society and environment. So the Company has a long term gold to create sustainability through all its corporate operations and activities. In the drive towards the organizational mission, the Company has focused in developing human resources, closely monitoring its operations to minimize its impacts to communities, and the environment, in order to deliver the quality of life for consumers through its various activities.

From the assessment of risk management committee, and the resolution of sustainable development committee in 2015, it showed that consumers, staff, and surrounding communities of the Company, have impacts on corporate sustainability respectively in such order. So, the Company sets the goal to initiate the sustainability to correspond with its nature business and business plan, i.e. to develop to be a learning organization, to participate and share knowledge leading to constant self-development of its human resources, to develop the product quality to satisfy the consumers’ needs, and to prevent the potential impacts on communities and the environments from its operations. This will ultimately lead Organization to be a strong and sustainable company.

In 2015, Sustainability Development Committee concluded materiality with impacts on sustainability by assessment of Risk Management Committee as undergone by the method of Common Risk Matrix. It bases on goals and business plan and sustainability development plan along with stakeholders’ expectation analysis through different channels such as participatory meeting with communities, complaints, satisfactory questionnaires, and customer and supplier audits. The assessment revealed that the materiality with impacts on sustainability, and were agreeable by all in the organizational contexts as well as in relations with stakeholders including

From these four key issues, and eight principles of Security and Exchange Commission in Corporate Disclosure Form 56-1 on Social Responsibility, i.e. good governance, anti-corruption human right, fair treatment to labor, responsibility to consumers, environment preservation social and community development and innovation, which guide the Company to follow certain issues as followed.

The Company is a manufacturer and distributor of consumer products, we have a policy to encourage people’s good health by maintaining its good quality and standards of the products. We research to develop our products to satisfy customers’ need, and create an understanding regarding health among its customers. The Company also firmly believes that human resource is the key factor to drive the organization towards the goal of delivering a good quality life to consumers. In communications of executives and employees, the Company creates a voice dialogue session with participants are all top executives, management, supervisors, and staff to listen, share and find solution of any challenges. This meeting upholds the principle of voice dialogue to create corporate cultures and working guidelines, and other key solutions to corporate and working culture issues.

TVO’s Talent Thai Vegetable Oil Public Company Limited is established by Vitayathanagorn family since 1984. Many staff who were with the Company when it was first set up remain working here since. So they are very skillful in working. In order to transfer knowledge to the next generation, the Company organizes knowledge management activities to share knowledges among colleagues of the same workforce; the old generation share their collected experiences, while new knowledge from new generation is used to update all.

TVO’s Talent Project was implemented during 2015 and an activity that all within the Organization participated. It stimulated thinking, questioning, and researching answers by themselves. It leds to learning and sharing knowledge among staff with enthusiasm. Questioning and finding out answers in work and other issues gave a positive impact on relationships, cooperation, eliminate conflicts, work innovation, and new knowledge. It ultimately increased efficiency and productivity at lower cost, and also increased presentation skills, new technology learning. The Projects created opportunities for the Company to discover other potentials outside their regular functions, as well as staff to self-realize their true potentials they never know before.

(1) The Company donated towards school lunch projects covering 22 schools in Nakhon Pathom and Ratchaburi to encourage nutrition for students.

(2) Scholarships and lunch campaign for 25 more schools in Nakhon Pathom.

(3) Participate in Children Day activities with 10 schools.

• Angoon Community Campaign

This project aims to participate with communities in activities to alleviate the quality of life as well as to conserve tradition and culture sustainably. The activities feature:

(1) Participate in Kathin and offering robes ceremony with 15 neighborhood temples to inherit religion and support temples which have been considered as communities’ spiritual centers.

(2) Participate local traditional events such as the annual long boat race, Bike for Dad, and Bike for Mum.

(3) Good Citizen Honored project; is committed by supporting Nakorn Pathom Center of Coordination, Private Organization in awarding a prize to monks who contribute on community development and has been a local spiritual leader.

(4) Promoting sport activities by giving sport equipment through local authorities.

The best practice framework for environment

is as followed:

• Control and development production and logistics systems, and work process by implementing technology to minimize environmental impacts.

• Improve and develop production process to reduce energy consumption.

• Survey and assess the impacts from production pro-cess, and create plan to improve process in order to reduce such impacts.

• Set up a unit to accept complaint on environment issues for urgent solutions.

• Participate with local government authorities to maintain a good environment around the factory location and to prepare for the possible issues.

The Company joined with neighbor school launched packaging management campaign 2nd year as following

• Love Earth, Love Community Campaign. The Project educates students on packaging management via activities that organized with Thailand Institute of Packaging and Recycling Management for Sustainable Environment (TIPMSE) by educating them on packaging management, recycling materials, and value creation from communal packaging. This aims to organize with schools in Nakhon Pathom to create consciences and discipline in sustainable waste management.

จำกแนวคดทตองกำรลดกำรปลอยมลพษจำกกระบวนกำรผลตเพอรกษำของสงแวดลอมและชมชน ประกอบกบ ประเทศไทยมพนทในกำรปลกขำวมำกกวำ 1 ใน 10 ของประเทศซงท�ำใหมแกลบทเปนวสดเหลอใชจำกกำรแปรรปอนจะสำมำรถน�ำมำใชเปนเชอเพลงในกำรผลตเปนจ�ำนวนมำก นอกจำกนน จงหวดนครปฐมซงเปนทตงของฝำยผลต มพนทเกษตรกรรมทมกำรปลกขำวเปนจ�ำนวนมำก บรษทจงไดน�ำเชอเพลงแกลบมำใชในกำรผลตไอน�ำเพอน�ำไปใชประโยชนในกระบวนกำรผลตมำตลอดระยะเวลำกวำ 30 ป ทงน เปนกำรท�ำใหลดกำรปลอยสำรซลเฟอรลงไดถง 50 เทำ

Using husk from Nakorn Pathom and neighbor area also impact on logistics cost reduction as husk is local sourcing. This helps strengthen community economy, and to sustainable development of the Company.

The use of husk as biomass also creates value for rice farmers by recycling their waste, and turns income back to agricultural sectors over hundreds of millions baht annually. This reduces the import of coal, and thus not to lose money out of country.

From the concept to reduce pollution from production process to conserve environment and communities and the fact that Thailand has vast area, roughly 1/10 of its area, of rice field, rice husk is a waste left from milling and ready to be used as biomass. Besides, Nakhon Pathom, the location of the factory, has a lot of rice plantation province. The Company decided to use husk as biomass to produce steam power for production during the past 30 years. This reduces sulfur as much as 50 times lower than fossil fuel.

Activities for stakeholders’ sustainability:

Farmer

• The Company has a policy to purchase domestic soybean as raw materials from Thai farmer at fair price. This is a part of building an economic sustainability for Thai farmers by supporting their professions and incomes, and in turn improving livelihoods of farmer communities.

• The Company in cooperate with Soybean and Rice Bran Oil Manufacturer Association, Department of Agriculture, Siam Kubota Corporation, Mitr Phol Sugar Company Limited, and Green Spot Company Limited, had a campaign promoting to soybean plant in rice fields and sugar cane field as an alternative crop to replenish soil and create more income for farmers. The campaign educates farmers and offers attractive purchasing price, ultimately, it is improving their incomes and enhance sustainable plantation system of soybean.

• Rice Husk Purchase project is implemented as energy for manufacturing process and meant to be additional and sustained income for communities.
