Congregational Christmas Carols

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

Hark! The herald angels sing, Glory to the newborn King;

Peace on earth, and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled!

Joyful, all ye nations, rise, Join the triumph of the skies;

With the angelic host proclaim, Christ is born in Bethlehem!

Hark! The herald angels sing, Glory to the new-born King!

Christ, by highest heaven adored; Christ, the ever lasting Lord!

Late in time behold Him come, Off spring of the virgins womb,

Veiled in flesh the God-head see; Hail th incarnate Deity,

Pleased as man with men to dwell, Jesus, our Emmanuel.

Hark! The herald angels sing, Glory to the new-born King!

Hail the heaven-born Price of Peace! Hail the Sun of Righteousness!

Light and life to all He brings, Risen with healing in His wings,

Mild He lays His glory by, Born that man no more may die,

Born to raise the sons of earth, Born to give them second birth

Hark! The herald angels sing, Glory to the new-born King!

Angels We Have Heard on High

Angels we have heard on high Sweetly singing oer the plains,

And the mountains in reply Echo back their joyous strains,

Refrain

Glo- ri-a in ex-cel-sis De-o,

Glo-ri-a in ex-cel-sis De-o.

Shepherds, why this jubilee? Why your joyous strains prolong?

Say what may the tidings be, Which inspire your heavenly songs?

Refrain

Come to Bethlehem and see Him whose birth the angels sing;

Come, adore on bended knee Christ the Lord, the newborn King.

Refrain

See within a manger laid Jesus, Lord of heaven and earth!

Mary, Joseph, lend your aid, With us sing our Saviors birth.

The Summary of the Decalogue

LEADER: From all that dwell below the skies

SUNG: From all that dwell below the skies, Let the Creators praise arise; Let the

Redeemers Name be sung, through every land, by every tongue.

LEADER: Hear what Christ our Savior saith, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all

thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great

commandment. And the second is like unto it: Thou shalt love thy neighbor

as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

SUNG: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the

beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
