On behalf of VicWater and its Board of Management, it is our pleasure to invite you tothe ‘Future State of Energy Conference - A Blue Print for Water’. This Conferenceoffers a ‘System Level Thinking’ on achieving ‘Energy Targets’ and ReducingEmissions in line with the Victorian State Government’s commitment to ‘renewableenergy generation targets’ of 25% by 2020 and 40% by 2025.

The conference is set to attract key decision makers and influencers from the waterand energy industries together with leaders from Victorian Government, Regulators,Generators, Network Service Providers, Energy Storage, Contractors, Retailers, MicroGrid Operators, Energy Farmers, Carbon Market Participants, Bankers and Investors.

Business consumers of energy will be able to apply the learnings from the conferenceto their decision-making processes. The learnings from the conference aim to informwater corporation’s short-term and long term decisions in the energy transition journeywith a firm eye on potential risks and ways to mitigate them. All of this in the contextof ensuring Operational Continuity.

The theme: ‘The Future State of Energy – A Blue Print for Water’ is very timely, giventhe clear direction and short timelines to achieve significant reductions in carbonemissions. The energy industry is at the centre of this change and is rapidly evolvingin its quest to stay ahead of the transition curve. Businesses like the watercorporations, irrigators, manufacturing and production etc. are intrinsically connectedto the energy industry by being large energy consumers and are affected by thechanges impacting the energy industry.

The program offers a list of distinguished presenters who will provide in-depthlearnings from their respective industries, which will serve as a catalyst in sparkingnew ideas and partnerships for your businesses. It will also facilitate genuineopportunities for those in the senior leadership of the Victorian water and energyindustry to meet, network and forge new relationships.

VicWater has undertaken this initiative as a first step in understanding andaddressing the mandate of Water Corporations making the transition from traditionalenergy sources to renewables and believes the two-day program will inspire, informand facilitate a clearer strategic perspective in your respective organisations. Theprogram has been developed with Chairs, MDs, Directors and Senior Executives inmind and we look forward to welcoming you to The Grand Hyatt for what we believewill be another outstanding conference.
