636cm³ displacement uses a long stroke toboost engine performance throughout the revrange. Low-mid range torque is especiallyimpressive, and provides satisfying real worldperformance.

Chromoly steel camshafts are light, strong anddurable. Piston crown enhances strength andaccommodates the high valve lift

12.9:1 compression ratio is optimum for thisengine?s bore & stroke.

Molybdenum coating on piston skirts reducesfriction and facilitates engine break-in.

Pure Performance

Digital Fuel Injection system features four 38mmKeihin throttle bodies with oval sub-throttles anddual throttle valves for smooth response andmaximum power.

Ultra-fine atomizing injectors help ensurecomplete air-fuel mixing and maximumcombustion efficiency. High-performance airboxdesign contributes to peak power and smoothpower delivery.

Single-bore intake funnels improve low-midrange torque. Two different funnel shapes (outerare the same, inner are the same ) help deliveroptimized throttle response.

Clutch with Assist and SlipperFunction

The Ninja ZX-6R's clutch is standard with assist& slipper functions and uses two types of cams,an assist cam and a slipper cam that weredeveloped based on racetrack testing and riderfeedback

The clutch?s ?assist? cam acts like a self-servomechanism, pulling the clutch hub and operatingplate together to compress the clutch platesunder load. This creates a very light pull clutch.

The clutch?s ?slipper? cam reduces theclamping force on the clutch hub and operatingplate when back-torque conditions are presentand helps prevent rear wheel hop ontrailing-throttle and when down-shifting. Springplate assembly provides smoother engagementand helps minimize clutch judder.

Short-style silencer

Its triangular design achieves required volume, ahigh lean angle and a compact image.

Triangular cross-section muffler providessufficient internal volume while still offering goodground clearance and maximum lean angle, aswell as a compact appearance.

Exhaust pre-chamber

Pre-chamber helps minimise silencer volume,contributing to mass centralisation.

Exhaust pre-chamber makes efficient use ofspace, reduces exhaust noise and allows asmaller muffler to be used.

Lightweight Chassis

Race-developed perimeter frame is the key tothe Ninja ZX-6R?s superb balance of flickablehandling, mid-corner stability and an ability tochange lines on command, coupled withexcellent chassis feedback.

Lightweight twin-spar aluminum frame placesthe engine in the optimum position for superbhandling and rider feedback. A 23.5 degree rake angle helps quicken steeringresponse, enhance maneuverability and deliversclear communication from the front tire. Lowfriction steering stem seals for easy steeringinputs and light low speed handling.

The sub-frame is a lightweight two-piecealuminum die-casting and is very narrow for acompact and slim rear profile.

Power Modes

Power mode selector on the left handlebarclip-on gives ZX-6R riders the option to choosebetween ?Full? and ?Low? engine powerdelivery modes to suit their needs

Output at low rpm is the same in both modes,but ?Low? mode limits peak engine output toapproximately 80% and gives a softer throttleresponse. ?Full? mode allows the fullperformance potential of the engine to beunleashed.

Fit to the Rider

Riding position ideal for sport riding offers an intuitive fit that puts ridersinstantly at ease. Tank, seat and rear frame offer good contact with the bikefor enhanced rider feedback.

Easy-to-read Instrumentation

Easy-to-read instrument panel features alarge-dial tachometer and a multi-functionscreen that includes a large numerical gearposition indicator.

LCD functions include KTRC, PowerMode and Economical Riding (ECO)indicators, digital speedometer,odometer, dual trip meter, clock, instantand average fuel consumption, coolanttemperature, and shift indicator, tractioncontrol activity and low-fuel warninglamps.Large gear position indicator givesinstant numerical gear confirmation.

KTRC (Kawasaki TRaction Control)

Three different modes are tuned to cover awide-range of situations from advancedracetrack use, to normal street riding, tomixed/slippery conditions, for enhanced riderconfidence.

Mode 1 is tuned to allow a degree ofwheel slip to achieve maximizeacceleration, like the ZX-10R S-KTRCsystemMode 2 is tuned to help provide abalance of performance with minimalwheel slipMode 3 prioritizes slip elimination, similarto the Concours14 ABS sport touringKTRC system, for enhanced riderconfidence in mixed or slipperyconditions

The KTRC system may also be turned-offcompletely, at the rider?s discretion. Handymode selector on the left clip-on makes it easyfor the rider to change KTRC settings

KIBS (Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lockBrake System)

KIBS is a multi-sensing system, using input fromnumerous sources. In addition to front and rearwheel speed sensors (standard for any ABSsystem), KIBS also monitors front caliperhydraulic pressure and data from the engine?sECU (throttle position, engine speed, clutchactuation and gear position)

A compact, lightweight BOSCH ABS unit is usedin the Ninja ZX-6R and combined with highlyrigid, radial-mount ?monobloc? Nissin brakecalipers to offer superb control and a firm feel atthe front brake lever.

Semi-floating 310mm stainless-steel petal-typefront rotors contribute to strong brakingperformance.

The Front End: SFF-BP (SeparateFunction Fork? Big Piston)

SFF-BP fork combines the features of Showa?sbig piston and separate function forks, featuringsprings on both sides, with dedicated preloadadjustability in the left tube and dedicateddamping pistons and adjustability in the righttube.

The result is greater control as the fork begins tocompress and very calm response duringbraking-induced weight-transfer, for greaterchassis stability on corner entry.

The Back End

Bottom-link Uni-Trak rear suspension offers135mm of travel and features a gas-chargedshock.

Rear suspension linkage has a high leverageratio for improved rear ride comfort and featuresa softer rate to enhance ride comfort andcompliance when the road isn?tracetrack-smooth.

Full adjustability includes: stepless compressionand rebound damping adjustments and fullyadjustable spring preload. The top of the shockis also threaded and captured between nuts toallow for adjustable ride height.
