This video surveillance system will give you added security and comfort for many years. It is easy to install in almost anywhere you need audio/video surveillance. Please read the installation and operating instruction in this manual, and keep it for future reference. Congratulations on purchasing the 14” Color Quad system. Before operating your Video Security System please read all the safety and operating instructions completely, and retain for future reference. To prevent entanglement, never place the camera or monitor in a crib or playpen Do not place the monitor on any surface or wall where the camera or its AC cord may be within reach of a child

or baby Never use the monitor or camera near water. For example, near a bathtub, washbowl, laundry tub, kitchen

sink or in a wet basement, etc Disconnect the AC power from the wall outlets when the system is not in use. Position the monitor and camera to allow for adequate ventilation Keep the camera out of direct sunlight To prevent overheating, keep the monitor, and camera away from heat sources, such as

radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other appliances ( including amplifiers) which produce heat. Use only the cables provided. Use of any others may damage the monitor and/or camera Plug into an electrical outlet with standard household power Changes or modifications not approved by Home Sentinel® could void the user’s authority to operate the

equipment

3. Remote Sensor - signal from remote control is transmitted here 4. CH Buttons ( Channel Buttons ) – this button allows the user to go to full screen for channel 1 ~ 8 5. Mode Button - different screens are displayed depending on the number of times this button is pressed

1. PIP ( “A” position or 1st screen ) 2. POP ( “A” position or 1st screen ) 3. Auto-Switcher Mode ( Quad A → Channel 1~4 → Quad B → Channel 5 ~ 8 ) 4. Quad A or B

6. Quad Button - displays all 4 pictures on one screen. Press this button once to display the Quad A screen ( Channels 1 ~4 ), press this button again to display the Quad B screen ( Channels 5 ~ 8 )

7. VCR Button – press this button to watch previously recorded film. Press this button again, to the OFF position for recording

8. Menu Button – the monitor provides an on screen picture menu which includes contrast, brightness, Sharpness, color, tint, preset and exit

a. Scroll down the functions by pressing the MENU button repeatedly b. As you scroll down the function, the selected function will be highlighted in red c. When the desired function is selected, press the ▼ Data ▲ to adjust the value of the function

When nothing is selected for 20 seconds, it will automatically exit the menu mode or you can select Exit at the bottom of the menu mode and press the ▼ Data ▲ button to exit the menu mode

9. Volume / Data Buttons ( Up/Down ) – Press the Up button to increase the volume level or the down Button to reduce the volume level.

3. Video Out – RCA jack sends video signals to a VCR for recording or other device Note: The video output from this terminal is the same information as on the screen

4. Video Input – These jacks receive video signals from the cameras CH 1 ~ CH 4 is a video input for a BNC jack CH 5 ~ CH 8 is a video input for a DIN jack

5. Sensor Input – This DIN Jack receives alarm signals from the sensor which relates to the individual camera location ( CH 1 ~ Ch 8 )

6. Audio Input – These RCA jacks receive audio signals from the microprocessor which relates to the individual camera ( CH 1 ~ CH 4 )

7. Audio Out – This RCA jack sends audio signals to the VCR or other audio unit 8. VCR Input - 1) Video : This RCA jack receives video signals from the VCR or other video unit 2) Audio: This RCA jack receives audio signals from the VCR or other video unit 9. VCR Out - 1) Video : This RCA jack sends video signals to the VCR or other video unit 2) Audio: This RCA jack sends audio signals to the VCR or other video unit

The video output signal in Quad or the same video signal as seen on the screen is selectable via The “ VCR Record Mode “ menu.

ZOOM FUNCTION & SHIFT FUNCTION ( Available on remote control only )

1. Zoom Function This monitor is equipped with a zoom feature ( 2 X zoom ). To utilize this feature proceed as follows: (A) Set the monitor to the desired channel and press the ZOOM button (B) A box will appear on the screen (C) Use the Up/Down/ Left/Right arrow keys to move the box to the area which you would like the monitor to zoom in on (D) To view the” zoom in “, press the ENTER button (E) To return to the previous screen, press the ENTER button again (F) To exit the ZOOM Mode, press the ZOOM button again

2. Shift Button

(A) To operate the shift button, press the MODE button first (B) The PIP ( Picture in Picture ) or POP ( Picture on Picture ) is displayed on the monitor (C) Press the SHIFT button, the following is displayed on the monitor SKEY 1 – FULL SELECT SKEY 2 – AUTO SKEY 3 – SMALL SELECT When the POP screen is displayed on the monitor, the following is displayed SKEY 1 – CH SELECT SKEY 2 – AUTO (D) Press the desired button, SKEY 1. SKEY 2 or SKEY 3 to change the picture configuration (E) To exit, press the SHIFT button and then press the MODE key again

PLEASE NOTE: If the box ( area on the monitor you would like to zoom in on ) is shifted up / down / left / right , then you must press the enter button twice to view the “zoomed in“image

(E) To exit the Main Menu, press the MENU button Note: (1) The above procedure ( A ~ D ) must be followed for each camera position

MOTION DETECTION ( Video Motion Detection ) ( A) To adjust the dwell time ( Alarm time duration) use the + or – buttons when the DWELL TIME is highlighted ( B ) To adjust the alarm mode use the + or – buttons when the ALARM is highlighted ( C ) To change the CAMERA Channels use the + or – buttons when CAMERA is highlighted It will show you camera views for motion detection ( 1/5. 4/8, 3/7 or 2/6 ) Note: The setting for the sensitivity / sensing area cannot not be used for the individual camera, but can be used as pairs, such as cameras 1/5, 2/6, 3/7 or 4/8

( G ) To program / exit the Submenu press the “ENTER” button Note: • Motion detection occurs when the camera detects the video information movement, which is carried by the individual pixels, occurred in the CCD image sensor. Either a buzzer ( alarm ) and an On screen display of the camera is shown or an On-screen display can be selected • This motion detection alarm is only available with the page by page ( i.e.: If the screen shows Page A Camera 1~4, then Page B, camera 5 ~8 will not trigger this function ) 8. SEQUENCE SETTING ( A )To adjust the sequence duration time, use the + or – button and arrow keys ( ▲ or ▼ ) ( B ) To program / exit the Sub Menu press the ENTER button Note: This system incorporates a ” No Video Auto Skip” function, where no video channel will be skipped in the “ Auto Sequence” mode 9. RESET To set the adjusted value to the default value, press the ENTER button when RESET is illuminated

The VCR must be programmed or selected in one of the following modes: Video 1, Video 2, AUX, A/V or LINE IN mode for recording ( refer to the Owner’s Manual of the VCR for input selection procedure). If this programming is not done, then a snowy picture will be recorded.

Before calling service, check the following points for possible misuse
